I just completed my 900th class at Intentional Yoga, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this incredible community! When I first walked through the doors, I had never done yoga before. Now, not only have I built a consistent practice, but I continue to learn and grow every time I step on the mat.
The teachers here are amazing—knowledgeable, supportive, and always encouraging. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, there’s always something new to discover. The community is welcoming and uplifting, making every class an experience I look forward to.
If you’re considering yoga, this is the place to start. And if you’re already practicing, this is the place to deepen your journey. Highly recommend!

I started here in November and love the workout, the space and instructors! I’m an older gal so I have to remind myself that my practice is between me and the mat, and I feel the instructors encourage this every practice. I’d encourage all newbies to start with a slow flow, yin and yoga nidra, and work up to the harder flow classes. But just do it!! You’ll be glad you did!

This is a wonderful place to build your yoga practice. There are a variety of classes, and I especially enjoy the “fire and ice” class taught by Emily Hughes. The studio is well maintained and very clean, which is very much appreciated. I highly recommend trying iY!

Intentional Yoga has become my happy place. I received a heart transplant 12 years ago and have been trying to find a work out routine that I enjoy. A friend rC6ecommend hot yoga and I wasn't sure my heart could handle it but it has been the best thing for my heart and my body. The instructors and people are incredible and so welcoming. The classes have become a highlight to my week. Thanks IY for making me overall stronger and a healthier version of me.

I started practicing here 3 years ago with zero yoga experience and mainly because a friend of mine kept pushing me to go. I finally relented and am incredibly thankful that I did! The staff at IY is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and make yoga really approachable, especially for those of us who don't know what we're doing! There is a wide variety of class options and the community that exists here is really incredible. I can't recommend this place more!

I love the welcoming environment at IY, but it can be intimidating if you are trying to get into hot yoga or still building a practice. They have somewhat limited class options/scheduling for beginners or those who can't keep up with the hot series. They also just discontinued my favorite class "Heated basics" that was the highlight of my Sunday afternoons. It was a class you could go to as a beginner to make sure you are doing postures correctly, but you could also go once you had a more established practice just to try new poses and have someone available to offer correction or alternatives.

I have been attending classes at Intentional Yoga for about 6 months. It has had huge positive effects on my body physically such as increased strength, flexibility, tone, cardiovascular and decreased the amount of pain that I have had. I have also noticed that my mind is much clearer when I am practicing regularly and my stress levels seem to be lower.
Being new to yoga I thought it would be overwhelming, but the instructors and other attendees are all great. The building is always clean, I love being warm so the studio always feels awesome (especially in the winter).

Please try at least one class if you're looking into this. The instructors encourage you to go at your own flow even though the rest of the class might be a little quicker. I really do enjoy that because I don't feel like I have to keep up with the class and I can go at my own pace and on certain days I really need that. It's all about YOU. Reconnect with your mind, body, and soul 💖

I bought a membership with Nicole who told me there was a 3 month promo. I was in town for exactly 3 months and told her I was moving. She told me she put notes on my account and would cancel my membership at the end of the 3rd month. We moved back to Texas 3 months later as planned. We just discovered they had in fact NOT cancelled my membership as promised. I called and talked to Devon who was very short and rude to me. He did not even confirm with Nicole about this and said they were a small business and could not afford to refund a membership to a person who was not even living in the State for the last 5 months and hasn’t attended 1 class. Extremely disappointing and petty of the owner to not stick to the word of his employee. Didn’t offer even a single month refund.
Had to call 7 times before I finally even got someone to call me back. Now they are ignoring my phone calls. We are challenging through Visa now since the Owner Devon has no remorse for the promises of his employees and the proof that we moved the 1st of March. Terrible customer service.

Intentional Yoga earns my highest regards when it comes to fitness classes. Not only do they provide a variety of classes ranging from hot yoga, power flows, slow flows and sculpt- each and every instructor makes sure all levels are able to participate and being challenged based on their personal goals. I really love the hot yoga classes here. It's definetly not relaxing and quiet classes though. These are fast pace, intense, sweaty workouts with loud music. There are a lot of instructors and classes to try which is awesome. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I only wish the classes cost less. I think they raised the prices this year which was really disappointing. If not for that, I would give 5 stars.

This review is for their heated vinyasa classes only. For context, I've been practicing yoga for a little over 10 years. In general I enjoyed attending classes at this studio. I do wish they offered more vinyasa classes throughout the day. I also found the inconsistency between vinyasa classes a bit jarring. Some instructors were great at providing pose modifications while others were not.
I avoided the Monday and Thursday evening classes if at all possible. The instructors for these classes preferred to go through a series twice before having students practice it on their own. This was fine. The problem with these classes was that modifications were not provided, especially as the sequences became more complex and usually ended with various balancing poses, and that the instructors tended to go through them rather quickly so that getting a sequence down was difficult. There were obviously times when new students to yoga were in class and modifications would have been appropriate. Music for these classes tended to be loud and I found the instructors shouting "inspirational" sayings to be distracting and unhelpful, making it hard to concentrate. Twice I left these classes feeling angry, which was something I'd never experienced before.
I far preferred the Wednesday, Friday, and weekend classes. Kourtney, Emily, and Devon in particular are excellent at talking through a sequence and providing modifications. I found I got the most out of my practice during their classes. I'm no longer in the area but I would come back to this studio. For any future students, be sure to try out classes with different instructors.

I have never done yoga. I have never done hot yoga. I consider myself a decently manly guy. I play baseball and basketball. I like to lift weights and ski. I'm a drummer in a band; I like to disc golf and play video games. I don't cringe at the sight of blood, and I feel alive when I'm in the face of real danger.
That said, when my sister asked if I would do hot yoga with her, my initial response was "absolutely not." After a couple months of occasional probing from her though, I said I would go if she could convince my twin brother to go along as well.
He said yes, and we dragged along one of our disc golf buddies. With dreadlocks, tattoos, and parachute pants, we woke up early on a week day and headed in to do hot yoga: my twin brother, my buddy, my sister, and me.
I was uncomfortable when I first walked in, I felt out of place, and I'm sure that we all looked out of place. But the staff smiled and walked us through where to put our things and where the mats were. We got in the room and I was convinced that I was going to die. I had just walked into a fireless hell. I'm already a naturally sweaty guy; so I was just bucketing sweat while I waited for the instructor to instruct us.
When the instructor came in, she pointed us out as the new guys, she was very friendly about it. I was uncomfortable again, but just went with it. 10 minutes in, I started to catch on to the rhythm of things and the poses. I was more flexible than I ever imagined I could be. The instructor made a few hilarious jokes about how at this point everyone was going to take their clothes off, just to mess with us because she obviously new that we had never done this type of thing before.
In the end, I had a ton of fun, I would totally do hot yoga again. I keep talking about it, it was a great experience. The instructor was awesome; they gave us complimentary cold water, it was a good time.
I recommend trying this, even if it isn't in your element. It was a lot of fun. Bring a friend or two, they will make it better.:)

I'm not a yoga aficionado, but I've been attending hot yoga at Intentional Yoga. The facility is very clean, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the hot yoga class is a physical, mental, spiritual journey where I learn something more every time.
The hot yoga class is clearly a well-thought-out curriculum designed to take through valleys and peaks, gradually increasing your balance physically mentally and spiritually.
I highly recommend starting out with introductory $20 s for 2 weeks Unlimited pass. Take advantage of the pass, and really understand what the hot yoga does for you.

I've only been here for one class (hot yoga), and it will be my last.
Good: Very clean facility, and friendly front desk staff. Showers on-site.
Bad:
The hot yoga class wasn't a yoga class, it was an 80 minute HIIT/bootcamp class in 105 degree heat.
The instructor wasn't practicing with the class, was smirking if someone couldn't do a pose, and was yelling almost the entire time: she felt like a drill sergeant.
CHAOTIC atmosphere: the instructor was constantly changing the lighting, changing the volume (quiet to BLARING), changing the temperature of the room, and changing music styles (top 40s, to peaceful acoustic, etc).
No diversity: you won't feel welcome unless you are a fit, 25 year old, rich white girl.
EXPENSIVE, and this is coming from someone who does yoga in Ann Arbor.
I don't live in the area, but I am telling my local friends: STAY AWAY
