I’ve been a member with this gym for 15 years. My membership was just recently canceled because I was accused of being a trainer. All because me and my great friend works out side-by-side together and does the same workout routines. My membership was canceled because I was being accused of being a trainer, but I was stalked in harassed by a employee which is a manager, Michael W for months he gave me really creepy vibes and offered to give me personal training outside of the company contract for lower amount. He was mad because I rejected it because again he gave me weird vibes and I felt harassed ever since yesterday was my first day back into the gym since two weeks I go this morning. Girl working the front desk was rude and useless, didn’t work with me, told me I could not use the gym even though I’m billed every month. Failed to lookup my account, said she couldn’t do anything after telling me “you come in an hour before close” are you kidding me?! It’s an HOUR before close..

Called the LA Fitness on Gratiot and Sam found my account within a few minutes…I’m all set thanks to the workers at another club, this one offered no help. Just crap attitude.

This is the cleanest of the 3 LA Fitness Gyms I use. The only issue I have is no Hot Water in shower. Warm at best. Why ? It used to have Hot then about 6-8 months ago..Warm. Hate all the hand dryers in all clubs.. Understand alot of sloppy people, but you do have a cleaning staff. Overall this is a nice gym and great staff !!

The gym is small but has the basic necessities. However, my experience with the front desk receptionist, Dan, was very disappointing. When I asked a simple question regarding the downtime for ALL four stair masters, he responded in a dismissive and condescending manner. His attitude is very unprofessional and does not reflect well on the gym’s customer service.

If you are thinking about joining, DO NOT! I cannot begin to explain enough how bad of an idea it would be for you to join this gym. The facilities aren't even clean, the workers are not helpful and even the customer service line is not very helpful. I called and tried to cancel my membership about a year ago and was told I would have to go into the facility to cancel. I then went into the gym to cancel, to be told I was all set and would receive an email with my cancellation. I never received, but did not think much of it at the time due to them stating it would be sent after processing. Come to find out, almost a year later, I was never cancelled and have been paying the monthly fee the entire time! I called and spoke with a worker to explain the mishap and request my membership to be cancelled and he stated it was. Then I called back the following day to speak with the manager for a refund, as told to do so by the worker, to find out that it was not cancelled the day prior and I would have to speak with a customer service team in member to issue the refund. After calling and speaking to an Alyssa on the phone, she stated that because I was never issued an email from the first time I tried to cancel, I could only be refunded for the past month. Then I asked for an email confirmation for the refund, to which she told me they do not do, but "I can expect a refund in 5 business days." When asked what to do if I do not, she said just call because all calls to LA fitness are recorded....however, the original call about my cancellation was not??? Seriously a waste of time to consider getting a membership this facility. I would highly advise against it. I would give 0 stars if it let me.

This gym has seriously gone downhill since the management changed. The equipment is constantly out of order, and it takes forever for anything to get fixed. It’s frustrating to come in ready to work out and find multiple machines broken for weeks on end.

Cleanliness is another big issue—it’s always dirty, and the locker room has a constant bad smell that never seems to get addressed. It feels like basic hygiene and upkeep are no longer a priority.

To make matters worse, even though there’s air conditioning, they rarely turn it on—even when it’s blazing hot outside. Working out in that kind of heat is miserable and honestly unsafe.

I used to enjoy coming here, but it’s becoming harder to justify staying a member. This location needs serious improvement, starting with better maintenance, cleaner facilities, and more responsive management.

Friendly staff but unfortunately it feels like the facility has been going downhill lately. Every-time I come in it feels like half the treadmills and other cardio machines are down. If they aren’t down then they’re making obnoxious squeaky noises when people use them. On top of that the tv on the machines don’t work half the time. This sounds nit picky but when they’re charging $100 startup on top of the monthly fee these things need to be in good shape. Also, the facility (especially the men’s restroom) could be A LOT cleaner.

Unfortunate because I have been coming here for years. I think ownership needs to stop being cheap and put some new cardio machines in since we are all paying high prices to come here. Other gyms in the area are cleaner and better maintained and are not part of a multi-billion dollar corporation like LA fitness. Also, what’s up with only two squat racks???

Love the water aerobics, however the management sucks . Fast talking when you sign up , no mention of yearly fee on top of monthly fee. When I called spoke to Dan/Don( can’t recall ) , he stated I would be reimbursed, that didn’t happen . Called back a week later Dan/Don answered , claimed he never spoke to me . This is easily one of the cleanest and best-organized LA Fitness locations I’ve been to. I only use LA Fitness when I travel to Detroit, and I have to say—this gym is night and day compared to the one on Moross. Kudos to the management team here. It’s genuinely a pleasant and motivating place to work out. Great work!

I go to the Roseville club, St. Clair Shores and Grosse Pointe. They all offer good workout facilities, but Roseville is sadly lacking. Short on paper towel, toilet paper, wipes for cleaning the machine after workouts, hair in the bathroom/shower room, TV sets in locker room not working and several people have reported ants in the locker room as well. Reported to management a number of times, without any change.

Miss the pervious management! This location has gone downhill remarkably fast in the past month. Overcrowded to the point where you can’t get equipment, Weights put away less than usual, equipment wipes always out, major cleaning happening at peak hours, etc.
Challenging to get a good workout if you have to be in at peak hours, but still decent if you’re here in the off-peak.

Love having this gym so close to home! They are constantly cleaning the facility and locker rooms and I feel that the equipment is very well maintained. There’s a large turf area, tires, sleds, great power rack, indoor track, pool and pretty much any type of equipment you could ask for. There’s also a really nice childcare center if you need that. The locker room is very large, tons of showers, and counter space if you need to get ready in there. The staff is incredibly friendly and make you feel at home. I recommend this place to everyone!

I'm really surprised this particular location was sooooo dirty and when I mean dirty I mean a health concern dirty u walk in and it smells no biggie it's a gym but the pool does not look the best stuff in the pool no chlorine smell it smells putrid in the pool room Jacuzzi looks ok I guess but then we get to lockers and showers omg paper towels floating on the floor in the showers mold up and down the showers. Baddddd no paper towels or toilet paper for that matter it's scary gross in that locker room and honestly all la fitness near me have been getting dirtier and dirtier along with broken amenities allll the time !!! Health department needs to go in these they need to hire cleaners even if it's private ones cause I'm sure I'm not the only one ready to quit this gym!!!

Been a member for a few weeks now after a year of hemming & hawing, procrastinating. Was always welcome in check it out... Guess pass and welcome with open arms A lot of care and attention from the manager "Coach D" Derek, great staff. Now that I am in and swimming, machines. using showers, using everything... am just grateful for the encouragement. The clean facilities, traco, plenty of equipment, no Wait Tinmes, No crazies (yet!!) & people i have met so far and never any high pressure tactics. Both Staff and met members from others Clubs. Derrick always kept in touch encouraging me to get back, join and get to it!! He is a credit TO and the Face OF thus Facility and it shows on his employees faces. Thanks All!!

I intend and hope for all Aswell as Mike Richert, to be able to see this. I came to this location for a 3 day guest pass due to me being in town for the weekend, and upon entering the facility yes it is friendly until you meet there sales team. In specific person speaking of the Personal Training Director Emma McCarthy. Her attitude and demeanor was welcoming and comforting until I informed her of me only being in town for the weekend and her whole persona switched to this rude and arrogant “pay $20 for a day pass out gym is not for outsiders”. I understand the pressure that working in sales can bring to a person that is only making $7.50/hr plus commissions. But verses taking it out towards the people that can possibly recommend others to come and try out your gym is one of the many of the 13 “fatal errors” you can make. Instead of trying to force a sale . Force a conversation with a smile . I would highly not recommend someone personally train with Ms. McCarthy only due to her underlining tone and attitude towards people. I feel like in my mind and heart someone would not be able to see a positive transformation through life and body if they were to work with her as their personal trainer.

Smallest yet best LA fitness gym I've been to. Usually commercial gyms are restricting due to their rules and regulations. However, this location has a private gym feel to it. I have been asking them to fix the hook in the handicap stall of the lady's restroom since January 2023 and it is still not fixed. I informed Darren that there is trash in the bottom of the bin where they keep the weights for the Aquafit class and it is still filthy. I've only been to a couple LA Fitness locations, but this one is great l. It doesn't have any courts but it does have a large turf area with a sled, bake ropes and space if you want to do some interval training. ... This location is smaller, but has a variety of equipment. Some stretching items are missing, which is annoying because other gyms have them.

My latest complaint is that they got rid of the cleaning spray bottles. stupid! Even planet fitness has spray bottles at their many cleaning stations. They inconvenience of the dispensers location and terrible cleaning fluid makes majority of people not clean equipment after use. Yuck

So today some young guys were in the gym playing around not working out they disappeared & then go running out the door a man comes from the pool area dripping wet saying stop them they stole my stuff
The saddest thing is it can be any of us that this happens to this gym isn't safe anymore i gave a police report on what i seen and heard but please be careful rather you have a lock or not they are coming to take peoples hard earned things
