I joined Lifetime Bloomfield Hills in September of 2025. Everyone was so welcoming at the front desk. Also, they all remember your name every time you walk in. I have not been to a gym in 20 years. I am a senior citizen. I felt overwhelmed by the size of whole gym. I had no idea where to start. Your first time a trainer takes you around the gym and does an assessment of your muscle and strength. They showed you how to use a few machines. I hired the most wonderful Trainer to help me. Her name is Asal. She is so patient and kind. She pushes me hard, but not to the point that I hate it. She goes up and above the call of duty for me. One time she stayed 20 minutes overtime just to make sure I would be able to get off the treadmill without being dizzy or passing out. Another time she did the same thing. Actually, she has become like a daughter to me. We laugh through the whole work out. And we always give each other a hug and kiss for Hello and Good bye. I know I am in good hands with her and that I am doing all the exercises correctly. The gym is beautiful and well kept. I am happy and proud to be a member of Lifetime in Bloomfield Hills, Mi.

I attend instructor Laith's weight training class on Sunday morning. He was great! He was patient and kind, and had a great playlist for us! I had such a great workout, along with my friends. He assisted everyone and ensured we all had good form throughout. Would highly recommend his class!

I go out of my way everyday just to come to this gym. Clean, nice staff, and no kids/teenagers running around yelling and screaming. Very peaceful, and I like how the sauna/steam are in the locker rooms. I just wish they added a cold plunge but idk where they would put it, hopefully one day.

Been apart of the club for over a year, unhappy with how Adriana Rickelmann dismissed my concerns without follow up about my child , haven’t brought my child back to BH lifetime since (June ) despite paying the rates for Bloomfield. As much as I appreciate this location , the micro aggressive experience with my child leaves me disheartened, do not recommend for children of color as Adriana Rickelmann has low regard and respect for children and families. Do not understand how she has such a role , extremely dismissive and quite rude or maybe just towards people of color ? Idk. But the BLATANT micro- aggressive behavior is absurd and unacceptable.

Called to cancel a membership, was told no problem just to see another bill the following month. And that’s not all.

This location in particular without exaggerating has the most overprivileged and lazy employees who are rude and don’t care to help with anything. They spend their time (and your time) talking with each other or other members instead of being helpful, and best of all they get paid to do it. Management and corporate literally won’t care how long you’ve been a paying member they only care to take your money and also be rude. For $250 a month simply do yourselves a favor and find another place that values their premium paying members.

Great gym with convenient hours and a clean facility. Been coming here for over a year now and working out with Mo, my personal trainer. Mo is a fantastic trainer with a great sense of humor so every session is filled with laughs and positive attitude which empower you to work out even harder. As a medical professional I have a very busy schedule but Mo is very accommodating and works around my schedule. Mo will definitely help you to achieve your fitness goals!

Great club if you’re looking to workout without having distractions, although other clubs do come with more, especially Rochester, for less. Most likely due to the location of the facility it is more expensive. They also have an actual kitchen rather than just a freezer and ovens. I had a massage from Cassie. Originally I went for just a relaxing massage. But I mentioned to her that my knee was hurting and a little swollen. Unacceptable. The heat in the yoga room has constantly been going out since September. I have been documenting how many COLD vinyasa classes I have attended in the past 6months- SEVEN. Absolutely unacceptable. I don’t care if they have to route an independent HVAC system into the yoga room- fix the problem! The lack of maintenance and constant disruptions is unprofessional and appalling for the exorbitant membership fees I pay monthly for.
Heated classes are a HUGE selling point for Lifetime. Tell me why I pay extra for the premium membership when Troy and Rochester have ZERO heat interruptions in their yoga classroom?

This location has not resumed many pre --Covid services and activities but has continued to raise membership fees. Management lacks a great amount of finesse when dealing with complaints and problems. A lack of recreational swimming activities for children other than lessons is a problem.
Update after a recent spin class has revealed a very dirty floor and no cleaning activity after the class of the bikes. The sign on the wall says the club is cleaning, but they are not. The only thing done by the staff was replacement of towels on the bikes of the bikes used for the class and then only of the towels were missing. I’ve watched this same activity for the past 3 weeks. This is not a clean facility.

I typically like lifetime fitness which is why I chose to join this one. But the monthly fee is kind of outrageous. And several of the receptionists come off a little rude and harsh. The spa was great. The ladies there are always so sweet and patient. Overall, I’m not in a huge rush to switch gyms, but these are things to take into consideration when looking, as this location seems a little different from other locations. But as long as you don’t mind the fees, annd employees being kind of rude, id still recommend it.

I recently visited a Life Time in Coral Cables while on vacation had an incredible experience. As a result of the amazing experience at the Coral Gables location, I decided to make visiting Life Time a monthly occasion for me until I commit to a membership. I visited the Life Time location in Bloomfield, Michigan on Saturday, July 8th for a day of massages and relaxation. A friend purchased massages for us both to enjoy. As I waited on the friend, I inquired on the timing of the massages as I was under the impression massages were 30 mins. As an fyi, timing wasn’t an issue and didnt mind that the friend’s massage went over time. I only inquired on the timing as I planned to participate in another activity and didn’t want to miss the masseuse (Cassie) if I ventured off to do another activity.

Cassie was absolutely wonderful by the way. The receptionist at the front desk of the spa (I did not get her name however she has two tone hair that appears to be gray and purple) started to speak to me in slang when answering my question. She stated that my friend booked two sessions and “that’s all she can tell me” and “that’s all she knows” while throwing up hand gestures.

As I tried to explain to her that there is 2 of us and both sessions are 1 of each, she just kept going back and forth with me while speaking in slang and odd hand gestures. I obviously took the way she spoke to me as her having a preconceived notion about me. The woman was aggressive and she refused to speak to me in proper English, yet I observed her behavior before and after the encounter and she miraculously became professional again towards other clients. I feel that her mannerisms towards me were hostile, insulting and felt she was mocking me as I am a woman of color. Cassie (masseuse) took me back after the encounter and I confided in her. She helped me relax and was the best part of this entire ordeal.

Also, judging from other reviews here, mistreatment due to ethnicity seems to be the norm at this location. I will do everything I can to get the word out about this location and the receptionist I had the displeasure of interacting with. I only wished I would have recorded the incident. Her actions towards me were not only unprovoked, but aggressive, evil and hateful.

tl;dr: I think they do a decent job for the most part, but given the ranking/tier of this LT — it has some major concerns, particularly on a value basis with lacking amenities relative to other clubs given the cost of enrolling as a member in 2023.

**Value**

> There is absolutely no reason why a gym at this price point shouldn't be open until at least midnight every single day.

> They oftentimes kick people out of the sauna, steam room, and pool area BEFORE closing time

> LT makes more than enough money to afford an additional few hours of operating costs per day; it's literally pennies on the dollars for what you are charging per member (especially at this tier) and given the price increases in the past few years.

> This LT in particular, despite its tier and pricing, lacks so many amenities including:
> No basketball court
> No rockwall
> No community sauna or hot tub

**Atmosphere**

> FAR better than Commerce location, but this also comes with almost twice the cost and lacking amenities (mentioned above)

I cannot recommend LT to anyone living in an area that does not restore FULL pre-COVID operating hours, and unfortunately, that pretty much includes nearly all Michigan locations.

Went to get a massage with my girlfriend today at the spa covered by credits my family had and was hit with an extremely rude and condescending call from some receptionist named Emily. Clearly didn’t understand the situation and assumed we walked out without paying. Massages from Nikki and Nicole were great though, just wish we weren’t left with such a poor taste in our mouths from such a blatantly rude and arrogant receptionist. The front desk staff is upbeat and the facility always smells great (not what I was expecting from a gym 😂). There is always body wash, shampoo, conditioner and shaving cream available in the showers and plenty of clean towels in the locker room. So far, all I use is the pool; everyone is at different fitness and ability levels, very inclusive. Then, I sit in the hot tub where HGTV is always on. It's so fun that I go everyday and I usually HATE exercise.

Was really really excited to return to the gym. Like couldn’t wait. The gym is taking great precautions against contamination. Mask are mandatory. You have to register for a class. I tried to register for a class. The registration was closed on the app. And if you register and miss 3 class you’re blocked from signing up for class, per an instructor. I’ve taken a couple classes tried a new one, told this instructor I was new and never did this class. She had an attitude about her to start. Didn’t think much of it, never had bad experience with lifetime team members. The class was way to hard, I left it. She didn’t try to help me or maybe take it 2 seconds slower for me. Whatever just not taking her classes anymore. The hot tubs and steam rooms are off limits as are a lot of the amenities in the bathrooms/showers. Classes are super limited too, not working with my schedule. Went to go get a smoothie after, they closed at 6pm but today they decided to close at 5pm. Just a lot of hiccups for much we pay a month to come here.

All in all if you’re looking for a gym during covid, don’t come to lifetime Bloomfield. Maybe try a gym that is less per month, they are offering same stuff as lifetime right now.

The place lives up to your expectations with multi level amenities in the building. The staff are friendly and inviting. The locker rooms are clean enough to walk around bare foot all the time. The lighting in the bathroom is bright for when you are finishing up a shower and need to get dressed, blow dry your hair, and moisturize. They have all the latest equipment and a nice area designated for CrossFit within a green zone. The place is quiet and people are respectful to those that are working out. You also can find a spa and a full service cafe for replenishment and relaxation after a workout.

Worth every penny. You really get so much for your membership, and as a result, this was the first gym I religiously attended. With the beautiful pool, large hot tubs, steam room, and sauna, going here felt more like a trip to a spa than a work-out at the gym. The facilities are modern and always clean, the exercise equipment is well-maintained and constantly being updated, but what really makes this Lifetime stand out to me is their friendly and eager-to-help staff. Everyone I've encountered, from the managers and member services employees, to the personal trainers, massage therapists, and front desk and Life Cafe staff, has been warm and pleasant. Because of this, Lifetime Bloomfield really stands out to me as a gym, and I can't see myself going anywhere else now.

I enjoy the club so much, I go there every day when I am not traveling and I spend at least 2 to 3 hours there on each of my visits. The yoga program is amazing. There are 45 classes a week, so if you could not make it in the morning, you could take the afternoon or evening classes. The yoga studio is great. It's exclusively used for yoga classes only. It has high ceiling, nice hardwood floor, yoga mats & yoga blocks, etc. And the yoga teachers are the best!!!
Nice indoor swimming pool. You would feel relaxed as soon as you walk into the pool area; the adequate space surrounding the pool, the water in the pool is very clean, the white towels are folded neatly and placed on the chairs and the shelves.
In addition, the steam room, hot tub & sauna are all so good for relaxing your muscles after the workout. The locker rooms are always clean and neat. It makes you feel comfy and homy. And all the staff are so friendly, they are always so happy to see you, anywhere at the club. They make you feel you are very much wanted :) I can't comment on the workout machines and other classes (lots of them), because I don't do them, but I heard good comments from other club members.
I just can not say enough good things about this club!!! It's classy, it's warm and nice and it's like my second home. I would highly recommend this club to anyone who wants to have fun and a healthy body and mind!!!

There is Lifetime fitness, and then there is lifetime athletic. If you think it cant get any better, athletic has 3 levels of greatness rather than the 2 levels that all the other lifetime have. Staff are amazing, children never want to leave the childcare.

By far the best Life Time in Michigan. I have been to everyone in Michigan, and I can say this one is the best. It doesn't have an outdoor pool or a basketball court, but with your diamond membership you can access and nearby club that does. That makes this location a lot better because there are not kids running around all over the place, except for the daycare which is not a problem. The locker rooms are great from the regular locker room. They have full sized lockers, big showers that have actual shampoo and body-wash, not some all in one foam stuff. Also there is a sauna, steam room, and a hot tub inside both locker rooms. Overall, a great luxury gym. It is way better than Equinox just a mile or so away, and better than any Life Time. If you live nearby and can afford coming here, it definitley worth it to get access to this club and all other lifetime clubs, instead of joining Equinox and getting access to one club in the entire state.

I really don’t go here as often as I should. Honestly, I think I’m just paying for their heat bill at this point but whenever I do make my way into the gym I’m obsessed! This location is pretty pricey but it’s SO worth it with all the awesome services provided. My favs include the amazing eucalyptus steam room, swimming pool and Life Time Salon/Spa :) I’ve had a facial here before and it was absolutely amazing!

Can’t wait to go back and “work out” :p

It's an overall clean place to workout at, this really should be the standard for commercial gyms. Not really crowded so you can get your workout done in smaller amount of time cause someone won't take your machine. Classy staff and classy crowd, the circus training exercises might be cringe, but hey I can't complain.

Pricey, but great place to work out. The locker rooms are clean and stocked. The staff is attentive and friendly. We go there for the kids programming. Our kids love going to Lifetime. They even have classes like yoga and sports for the kids included in the membership. The have frequent parents night out where you can leave your kids there and go out. The steam room, sauna, and hot tub in the locker rooms are great. They even have disposable razors ready for you to use.

It's irresponsible in 2018 to not have a way for the customer to cancel there subscription at their convenience online. Making me show up in person or send a letter are tactics to delay cancellation.

Edit: ironically the company called me to tell me that calling them isn't an acceptable way to cancel.

The facility and staff at this location are fantastic and my complaints are with the Corporation.

Doesn't like to help the community at all had to get my sister car out the impound 4 times because the school lot not big enough and this lot across the street always half empty the manager lady is extremely rude and throws stuff at your car for parking in her lot wouldnt want to support this establishment even if its the last gym in country

This is the nicest gym that I've been too, and is even a step above the other lifetime locations. Everything is always clean, the towels are always stocked, and the locker rooms are set up perfectly with everything you could need. The biggest issue is all the old men that like to strut their stuff in the locker room with towel in hand. Their also aren't really any plate loaded pressing machines, which is a bit disappointing because other lifetime location do have these machines. The minor complaints aren't enough to keep me from leaving a 5-star review though.

I was so excited two years ago when I was one of the first members to sign up. The club has been nothing but a disappointment in practically every way. Every other Lifetime looks like a country club, and this Lifetime looks like a poorly designed prison, cut-up, small, clastrophobic, and each locker room choice is nonsensical. the showers are far away from the pool, the lights are blaring above the hot tub, the music is so inappropriate for a "high-end club experience," no chairs to get ready, and simply no room for peace. The staff is untrained. The changeover is constant. Locker room theft reported as inside job. And the little numbers for combinations are such a poor choice. The good: The lockers are full size and you get mouthwash.
