Definitely addicted to life cafe. The shakes, the meals, the snacks to go from fridge is soooo good 🤩 and I don’t feel guilty about it. 😉 10/10. Pickleball and the studio classes are VIBES ✨ Zari from Spa, omg the massage felt like I was in Heaven ☺️ that hot towel on my back and foot wrap and I could go on. I took a 75 minute yoga class with the instructor Kayla and it was fantastic. She had logical and safe sequences and great energy. Kayla made the poses and peak pose approachable so I was able to get into them not only easier, but also deeper. Just when I thought I had nothing left, she encouraged me to keep going to my full potential. Kayla gave me an assist which was a nice back massage in child’s pose. What a wonderful class. Kayla is my new favorite instructor.

Fitness floor and group fitness studios are dirty, with grime and dust coating the equipment, floors and mirrors. The only focused cleaning is prepping for a Corp. scheduled visit. Staff stand around huddled in offices with their manager socializing and appear annoyed when you bring a problem or question to their attention. Management does not monitor the fitness floor or their employees. Equipment is left all over the floor. Members and employees vape in the restrooms, fitness floor and locker rooms. Loud music and instructors shouting over the music during the Alpha/GTX group classes, with 2 classes blasting music from each side of the floor. The staff ignore requests to turn the music down to a reasonable level. If there is an emergency, no one will hear you. Members complain, but nothing happens.
This was a great gym at one time, but will increasing membership dues, lack of cleaning, mismanagement and rude employees, working out at home is a better option.

The gym is decent however the front desk is very disrespectful and rude. They lack good customer service skills and it is not worth the membership fees we pay. Every time I come in, the front desk is super rude and unprofessional for no reason, mostly evening shifts.
For instance today, while my sister was enrolling under my membership, one of the front desk girls looked at us and laughed when my sister was talking. It was very clear that she laughed at us for some reason. And this is not the first time she treat us like this, she always ignores us and very rude to us.
This is unacceptable and I hope the owners of the gym can see what is happening in their business.
For the price we pay, the gym should provide better customer service, especially the front desk staff, as they are the first ones who members encounter.

I believe a towel check out system linked to the club app would fix and punish towel misuse in my local lifetime club. So many entitled people leave towels on the ground. Simple fix charge the lazy dirty people who abuse the towel service. It would free up staff for other duties as well

Feedback on Gym Conditions
Peak Hours: The gym is almost unusable during busy times due to crowding and equipment issues.
Cardio Equipment: Nearly half the treadmills are out of service, often from misuse (e.g., people running them at max incline until failure).
Locker Room Cleanliness: The men’s locker room is frequently cluttered with towels left behind, creating a messy and unsanitary environment.
Shower Etiquette: Some patrons take multiple large towels into the showers, apparently as a precaution against foot fungus, which contributes to excess laundry and clutter. Than they leave them on the ground in shower filth
Hygiene: A number of members appear to substitute heavy cologne for deodorant, leaving the workout areas with overwhelming scents.
Ive been to Troy and livionia lifetime which is really clean. The staff always seems busy at canton so maybe its a reflection on the people in the neighborhood

I travel around the country and go to a lot of Life Time locations. This is probably the worst I’ve been to. Still a quality gym overall but compared to others of the brand, certainly in the lower tier. Weights and gym equipment all over the place in spots they don’t belong, especially the dumbbells. Much dirtier than a normal location. Tried out 4 different treadmills before I found one that wasn’t busted in one way or another. A lot of the racks/benches/machines are either rickety and in bad condition or out of service. Locker room is dirty and severely under stocked. Again, on a curve of gyms in general, not bad - compared to the brands normal standard, very below par. Love the lifetime brand in general and I will be back when I’m in the area, just telling it how it is.

The food was excellent and the staff and service were even better. Particularly from our server Alvin who gave us top notch service, attention, personality, and delicious food. Every dish we have tried has been gourmet. My favorite is the steak quesadillas he makes😋. Life cafe has such a pleasant atmosphere.

This Life Time location is truly the best in Michigan! The staff, trainers, and overall service are exceptional, and members are always treated with the highest level of respect. All of this reflects the outstanding leadership of the club’s skilled and professional manager.
In addition, the PT Manager of this branch is remarkably knowledgeable, insightful, and operates at a very high standard. The amenities are good. The staff is helpful and friendly. However, for the price tag, they can do a lot better. Some of the machines in the weight room are broken for months and not fixed. Elevator is broken for months.Showers are dirty, and family shower area barely has towels available.

This gym has gone down to Trash. Bunch of unprofessional employees, selectively enforcing the roles as they see fit and based on who they like. I take my children here every weekend and it is no longer a friendly environment for them due to rude staff, expecially in the aquatic area. Also every week, there seem to be a power outage, closed for maintenance, or closed early due to staff meeting.

The Best Gym Experience in Michigan!
I split my time between Sicily and Michigan, and every time I’m in the U.S., Life Time Canton Township is my go-to gym.
The facilities are modern, spacious, and spotless, with top-quality equipment and plenty of space — no waiting for machines!
Classes are amazing, instructors are highly skilled, and the recovery area (sauna, steam room, whirlpool, cold plunge) makes the experience even better.
As an aerial acrobatics instructor and performer, I’m very selective about where I train, and Life Time provides everything I need: state-of-the-art gear, excellent trainers, and a welcoming atmosphere.
The staff is friendly, helpful, and professional, making you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants a premium fitness, recovery, and wellness experience!

I pay $275 a month for this gym membership and they told me I couldn't bring my sister with me to work out for the first time because of there weekend policy. Said I needed to pay $40 more for her to come in. This is horrendous and disgusting.

I feel like staff does a decent job, but it maybe be the clientele that makes it one of the more dirty lifetimes I've been too.
Towels are left all over the locker room, discarded clothes, people shaving private areas in the shower. Parents dropping there 13 years old off with absolutely no supervision.
Troy and novi isnt this bad it must be the people who who utilize the gym. So maybe its the neighborhood and not the staff that's the problem.

After being a member for 6 years, I have officially cancelled my membership as this place has gone downhill fast. Charging around $250 a month for a family plan, I expected a lot more than what was being provided. For starters, the cleanliness of the gym has fell off. I remember back in 2019, the place used to be spotless like entering a grand hotel but now there is not too much emphasis on that. There is a lot of grease and grime on the machines that make it disgusting to use, especially on the benches. The pools and tubs cleanliness are not up to par either, I got some sort of wart after swimming in the outdoor pool. Secondly, the equipment is unsatisfactory. There are several machines that break down often and are not fixed for weeks. Many of the benches are not stable and wobble as you exercise which make them a safety hazard. On top of that, bench press bars are not centered correctly. The cables, especially on the adjustable fly, no longer have a smooth resistance profile. Supplementary exercise equipment like jump ropes are hard to come by as well. Another thing that was a bummer is that they got rid of the powerlifting eleiko plates, used to love them. Being a high-end gym, these faults are unacceptable. Third, the timing of fitness classes are not acceptable as they hold classes during peak gym hours and use half the squat racks and other in demand equipment. I forfeit several workouts because I was not able to get the desired equipment in a timely fashion. Fourth, the gym has been cutting back on hours which is completely unacceptable. It used to be 24 hours and now it closes at 9pm on the weekends and they had the audacity to raise prices simultaneously. Lastly, the gym I feel has been getting overpopulated where it makes it difficult to have good workouts without staying long during peak hours. Having been to other gyms in the area, lifetime for sure outcompete them in many areas however the "benefits" are not worth the high costs of this "luxury" gym. It is a shame that lifetime Canton has become this way, coming here used to be a highlight of my day. Until these complaints have been eliminated and theres an actionable plan implemented to control the quality of the facility, I would not recommend this gym to potential members.

They rectified that issue. I think that someone that worked there was traying to just get out early(probably he was caught). After the gym repoened I've been able to stay there until 8 min before it closes. (better than the 20 min margin)
They kick you out 20 min before the gym closes. No questions asked. First gym ever that they do that and sad to say that it is the most expensive gym I have paid for.

The guess pass is time consuming and very discouraging 😞. I will never come as a guess again nor will I join. I needed to down load the app and make a password for a 1 time pass into the facilities. Lifetime has wasted value resources to set up guest passes in this manor. For as expensive as the membership is there has to be a better way to invite guess.

The facilities are as expected for a Life Time, but I don't know if it's the clientele or the staff that are lacking. I strongly believe it is the former.
Weights are never replaced, it doesn't help that there aren't designated places for plates to go.
The pool and sauna get rowdy, with people diving into the cold plunge, splashing other patrons.
Staff seem to not care or are unable to do anything. I've seen better gym etiquette at literally every other tier of gym from $10 a month to $50 a month.

Always a great workout experience and they have so much to do to get you in shape and healthy. The hot tub and swimming pools are great and the locker rooms are clean. The staff is very friendly and go above and beyond to be helpful.
It's been a few years, but for the most part this place is still good.
Update: 9/19/24 Not liking the gym not available 24hrs like in the beginning. Still paying the same price. If they could patrol the changing room and site the morons who just leave their towels wherever they drop them. Why are some people so lazy?
11/19/24 Update: Still a great place to go workout. Not thrilled about the idiots that aren't strong enough to put their weights down instead of just dropping them. Then we still have the idiots who feel it's other people's job to pick up their towels. Other than that and still not open 24 hrs for our convenience, it's a good place. Update: 7/9/25 Still a great place but they added heavy weight platforms so the idiots who can't handle lowering their heavy weights with a controlled motion can drop them and shake the whole place. They added a Cold dunk by turning one of their hot tubs into a cold dunk. Once again, don't agree on that move but what's done is done. They also had to raise our membership dues. It's getting too expensive for what you get. May have you look around.

I’ve been a member of a local gym everywhere I’ve lived for the past 35 years - including active duty military time - so I’m no stranger to fitness communities. In this case, it took less than two months for me to cancel my membership. The unprofessional way in which members of my family were treated by staff is antithetical to what a community gym should be. If you value a kind, supportive fitness community, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.

The monthly membership cost doesn’t reflect the level of quality this life time upholds. The aquatic area is always gross. Kids running in the hot tub and sauna and they aren’t even old enough to be in those areas. People constantly have their shoes on in the sauna and I’ve seen maybe 2 times a life guard has mentioned anything to somebody about it.
Machines are constantly broken, free weights and equipment all over the floor. the customer service is poor. The only good customer service is in the cafe. This is the worst life time in the metro detroit area. It’s hard going back to a basic gym after being introduced to the amenities that life time offers which works to their advantage but i’m strongly considering going back to PF or somewhere that at least keeps the place clean.. don’t let an equinox show up in canton and i’m out for good.

While their general facilities are nice and staff are friendly, a few of their machines have been broken for over a week now. I informed the front desk twice about the glute machine being broken, and it’s still remains unfixed.
This is disappointing. Their calf raise machine is also broken.

A few months later, they have now removed the machine entirely.… not even a repaired our new machine. Disappointing again.

The prices keep increasing while the cleanliness, and state of repair of the machines steadily decline. Informing the staff of a broken machine is like pitching the information into a black hole. They don’t write it down, they don’t follow up, and the machine stays broken. The restroom cleaning schedule does not meet the frequency required to keep it … clean.

I’ve been a loyal Lifetime Fitness member since 2019, but last week Wednesday’s experience left me shocked and deeply disappointed. While I was attending a class, my 10-year-old son was asked to leave the premises — not even allowed to sit quietly in the lobby. Despite being a long-time member and barely ever using my guest passes, I was refused the courtesy of allowing my child to stay, simply because he had visited twice in the past two months on a guest pass.
I politely requested an exception, but was denied — not just denied, but treated with a level of rudeness that is hard to believe. Anna’s peers at front desk asked her to not to do so. But still she had to be rude. No empathy, no understanding, and certainly no effort to accommodate a loyal member. To make matters worse, I haven’t received any apology, call, or email acknowledging the incident, it’s been 7 days now.
Anna, the membership lead, still works there and was at the forefront of this interaction. It’s baffling to me how someone lacking basic customer service skills is trusted to represent the face of this organization.
This is not the Lifetime I joined years ago — and certainly not the standard I expect from a brand that claims to value family and community.

While the price increases haven’t been my favorite and the fact that we have access to less clubs in Michigan is also a turn off…there’s a reason I’ve been coming to lifetime for over 6 years. The classes here are phenomenal, I love the instructors and I think the facility and its equipment are pretty well kept overall. If there is one complaint it might that other patrons at the gym are unsanitary, rude or thoughtless that’s not lifetime’s fault. I’ve paid for memberships at pretty much most of the gym options around Michigan and I saw those types of issues (but honestly worse) at all of them so you can’t blame lifetime for that…

My wife and i were looking for a gym because I'm a vet a service in the national guard so I need a gym to work out at. On top of that we are active and fit members. We went into the place to check it out and the front desk people wouldn't let us take a look at anything in the building to see if it would be interesting to tour. On top of that the front desk guy who had a mullet couldn't or wouldn't schedule a tour this week and said that he couldn't help us, he then proceeded to pick up the clicker and act like we were not there. Do not go to this place they treated us pretty poorly and will probably do the same to you.

I was a member for almost a decade but canceled recently due to the unjustifiable price increase and decline of the canton site. The price is secondary and kicked the bucket. I had made a complaint about dirty towels left in the sauna & I saw a patron with sneaker on in the sauna and the issue continued. This is more on patrons having low class but there should be a sign place enforcing basic hygienic mannerisms. Twice I went to the cafe and the customer service is lacking and staff not noticing or ignoring that they have a customer. The gym hours. The use to be 24 hours which was a perk with my work schedule. I didn’t have this grief at the Troy and Rochester Hills site. This Canton center is for the dumps. Patrons with sneakers on in a sauna, leaving towels in sauna, having loud conversations or personal radio while in the sauna or on a treadmill and folks cursing. I’m don’t pay for low quality and low class.

Just called up this evening asking if they found my daughter's water bottle. A Mira answered the phone. She was rude and unprofessional. Sounded confused. After asking she put me on hold to come back rudely and say no it's not here. How would she know. I hadn't even given her description or a name on the water bottle. So I was upset .i asked for the manager on duty. His name was will. Also don't apologize for her unprofessionalism or mistake. Instead, he tells me that I would have to come to the club to see if they have the water bottle. It's simple I can give the description and the name sticker on the water bottle but said he wants to trouble me to drive 30 minutes out of my way just to check. This is unheard of. So rude. Clearly they don't value members. This didn't sit well with me. Rude late night workers that don't care. Those are the ones that can ruin it. Also I asked for the manager Stacy to call me back and wills response was he will see if he has some time to call back. That makes me feel valued. Not happy!

beware of lifetime fitness in Canton! While the facility is really fun, the building itself is falling apart and there is a lot of water damage throughout. After months of health issues, I tested positive for toxic levels of chaetomium mold in my body and I am very certain it’s from Lifetime. I actually talked to the manager about it and even sent her my blood and urine test showing the mold levels and was told “there are actually a lot of issues with the building” while they didn’t admit there was mold toxicity. They really should be having air quality tests done by the health department here. There have been buckets of water in the workout room catching water dripping from the roof on rainy days. Today I ran into another friend who I used to see at lifetime and she also indicated that she got a fungal infection from lifetime and had to leave there as a member. If you are a member there and you’re having any sort of auto immune issues, rashes, etc. you should really get your blood work done to determine if it’s mold toxicity from this building. I really hope they take this seriously and get some of these issues fixed because people could really be getting sick.

Overpriced for average gym.
I’ve been a member of Lifetime Gym for over a year now, and I can confidently say it’s one of the most overrated fitness centers out there. The guest hours and rules are terrible, making it incredibly inconvenient for anyone who wants to bring a friend or family member along. Their weekend hours are equally disappointing, closing at 10pm opposed to many other gyms that close later, or are even open 24hrs.
The overall experience is definitely on a decline; it’s not the polished, premium environment they advertise. Equipment is often outdated or in need of maintenance, and the facility is mediocre at best. With prices being so high, it’s hard to justify paying this premium when you can find better alternatives for much less. I do not use all the amenities so paying upwards of $150 a month was not unjustifiable. Adding another person to the membership is almost impossible if they’re not your spouse due to the address and age rules. Often times the staff can be extremely rude as well. I’ve heard this multiple times and seen it first hand. If you’re looking for a gym that truly delivers on quality and service, look elsewhere. Lifetime Canton isn’t worth the hype, and the place is going downhill while prices going upward.
Worth mentioning also the price you pay does not give you access to most of the out of state facilities, and there is only 1 other facility in the area.

Very disappointed with the abrupt change in the hours not being 24 hours anymore really hurts me on the weekends. I also miss the key lockers they had I have so much trouble getting into them sometimes.and the prices are raised again.been with them since 2004 but I will have to eventually cancel because your hours don’t fit with my work schedule anymore. The Canton club’s cafe has such a great atmosphere. The employees are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The manager always gives special attention to detail and has special shakes like the Strawberry Shortcake and the new pumpkin spice shake. I am extremely disappointed with the experience at this location. When my spouse and I signed up, we specifically requested to be billed separately on two different accounts. However, we were double-charged for the membership. Corporate issued a $139 refund to correct the mistake, but now the branch manager is insisting that I repay that amount, plus additional fees, in order to keep my membership active.
Additionally, during my membership, the monthly fees were increased twice without any prior warning or notice, which is unacceptable. This lack of transparency and poor customer service has left a very negative impression. I would not recommend this establishment to others.

Lifetime Fitness in Canton, Michigan, has been on a steady decline, and it’s incredibly disappointing, especially considering the premium price you pay for a membership. The staff here is absolutely horrible—they lie to your face without hesitation, and it’s clear that customer service is no longer a priority for them. It’s no wonder they’re losing customers left and right.
The management at this location seems completely oblivious to the issues or just doesn’t care. There’s no quality control, and the overall experience has become frustrating and unpleasant. For a place that’s supposed to promote health and wellness, the lack of respect and the way they treat their members is unacceptable.
If you’re considering joining, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere. For the amount of money you spend here, you should expect a much higher level of service and care, not the disrespect and dishonesty that’s become the norm. Lifetime Fitness in Canton needs to do better—until then, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I recently visited the Canton location to address an issue regarding my daughter's membership. My daughter, who is in college, informed me that she hadn't been using the facility, and when I inquired further, she showed me an email from Lifetime stating that her membership had been canceled. This was baffling because I had never canceled her membership, yet I had been charged for it all this time.
When I went to the location to discuss this, the gentleman I spoke with was dismissive and made me feel as if I was trying to deceive him. I explained that I had canceled my two younger children's memberships a few months back because they were not coming but never my older daughter's. Despite showing him the email that created this false perception, his response was dismissive and unhelpful, even chuckling when I asked what could be done.
As someone who spends thousands of dollars annually with Lifetime, I expected a higher level of customer service, especially from a facility that markets itself as high-end. Unfortunately, I felt dismissed and disrespected. As a result, I will not be returning, and I hope Lifetime focuses on improving their customer service for others.

I've been a member of Life Time Fitness since 2012 and have always loved it. However, in recent years, I've become increasingly disappointed. Many of the machines are frequently out of order, which is frustrating when trying to complete a workout. Additionally, the monthly membership fees have gone up, yet the quality of the facility and equipment has declined. I recently visited Lifetime Fitness at Canton MI and had the pleasure of meeting Zari, a massage specialist. I've tried various places for massages, and Zari is by far the best👍👍👍👍👍. She is highly professional and skilled at identifying and relieving areas of tension. Zari also tailors the pressure to my preferences, ensuring a comfortable and effective experience. Additionally, she generously offered to teach me some stretching exercises on the second floor, which was incredibly helpful 👏👏👏. I highly recommend Zari to anyone in need of a great massage. I usually pick up a breakfast meal from the Cafe after my workout.
One day I mentioned to her that Bob Evans has a steak tips and egg breakfast meal that's pretty good.
She replied with I can make you that here. 😏
And she did! It was phenomenal, steak tips roasted peppers, sweet potato hash, eggs over medium, with a spicy sauce on the side.
She knocked it out of the park and most importantly made me the customer feel special. And I see that she's interacts with everyone else like that as well.
She's a keeper Lifetime! You got a good one!

I have been going to this gym since I was a toddler and my whole life, I have loved it for many reasons and years. As of recently this place is hitting the dumps- shortened hours with no notice, inattentive and careless workers then to top it off non regulated exercise spaces. The environment this place is turning into is rather discouraging, it used to be open 24 hours which is expected considering the membership prices, they cut the graveyard shift and now I am locked out by NINE PM. Can you imagine after a busy day you are looking forward to blow off some steam and the doors are locked even though the hours have not been updated online or in the app for such occasion, considering the parking lot looked decently empty i was even more excited because when it is busy the floor is filled with people that just hang out around equipment for the whole time I’m there- if not longer- are also loud and inconsiderate of other people and nothing is done to control this or at least keeping to business rather than using the space to be social, I’m looking forward to the outdoor pool opening as well but I will be returning regardless….

A lot of the cardio machines are often out of order. The stair master and Elliptical at PLANET Fitness are better . The Ellipticals often resets on its own if u take your hands off the bar and the stair masters you have to Mash down the buttons HARD for the speed to increase or decrease. For the Price more then should be included free of cost like Pilates, dynamic stretching, swim lessons , & members should get a percentage off Life Spa and Life Cafe .

I’ve been a member since 2007. I loved that place till they started allowing kids there. People are rude. Locker rooms are dirty and people are allowed to take their duffle bags to the gym floor. It’s a complete chaos. People slam weight, personal trainers blasting music, for the price that you pay which is over $100 a month def not worth it. They need to make it exclusive so a lot of wasteful people will drop off.

It’s a busier lifetime than most but it’s always clean and orderly. I’ve been a member for over ten years and no other fitness club comes close in this area. The staff is wonderful and I have yet to have a bad interaction with any of them.
I went to management (I think her name was Ursula?) with a suggestion/gripe about never being able to find a good back roller and within days it seemed, there was a new organized rack with more than enough rollers to go around. The management really does listen to their members feedback and it felt great to be heard.
The front desk girls are awesome and greet me by name whenever I walk in. They’re always smiling and happy and it makes the workout start off on such a positive note.
Lastly, I usually stop in at the cafe at the end of my workouts and they’re always so prompt and on top of orders. That’s a huge plus to me as I’m usually headed into work and don’t have much idle time to wait. The one young lady, Corina, knows my name and orders and aside from just being nice in general it really does make it seem more like a luxury club. The other main guy there Natash, really knows how to chop a line down and seems to navigate the soy latte Karen’s with ease. The patience on that guy is admirable.
Overall I couldn’t be happier there and I’ll continue to be a member for many years to come. So lastly a huge thanks to all the staff there for making my experience feel so welcoming and enjoyable. Cheers.

Angela at the spa is absolutely amazing! She does gel nails, and they turn out so beautiful. When I first thought gel, I thought it was shellac. This is not. It's almost the same as Acrylic, but much healthier for your nails. I had my set on for 4 weeks, and they didn't crack or chip like they normally would have. Go check her out! Her work is fantastic!

I was a member for almost 10 years but the facility has gotten dirtier recently. The showers are always dirty and the shower curtains are grimy. There is hair in the drains all the time. Plus the towels are toddler size and uncomfortable to wear. On top of that, many of the good classes no longer exist or are at odd times. Had an instance where I was not able to bring a guest in because of the 9 pm policy rule, which I was never notified or made aware of previously. I drove 30 minutes to the club with my friend who was excited to try the gym and arrived at around 9:05-9:10 PM. My question is, is there really a difference between 8:59 PM and 9:05 PM, do the machines not support guests after 9 PM on the dot? Not only was I forced to drive my friend back home because we rode together, when I came back I let the desk worker Kiki know that what she did was pretty unreasonable considering the fact I drove an extra 20 miles on gas. I began to state that no job in the world is that serious to send your members of 2+ years home, and then she began to state how this was her side job and that she makes 6 figures a year which was very disrespectful. She even handed me the business card for the general manager and encouraged me to call them. What in the world does that have to do with me just wanting to enjoy the gym with my friend after a long day of work? Honestly disappointed as I’m well connected with most of the staff and have a pretty high end membership deal.

I’ve been coming here for months. Was told to choose who to remove off my account of 3 members and that I had until the end of the month (Sept 20th-30th). After removing a member, I get charged for 3 members after being told I’d only be charged for 2 members, something about a 30 day policy. If I was pushed to kick a member out, there should be no 30 day cancellation notice.
After all this I’m being told the member I kicked out could still come until the end of October, which none of us were told. I asked for a 1 month membership to the one I kicked out since he missed out on it.
They said there was nothing they can do and that none of this is contradicting. Customer service like this is poor and insulting. I’ve had better help and experiences at lower priced gyms.

Sadly canceling my membership at the end of the month. Mainly joined for the pools because there are not many other options in this area. Prices have gone up but the experience is getting worse. They need to deep clean badly. They make you pay for a beach pass which was hiked up this year and never checked it once. Hot tubs are always malfunctioning, they got rid of the classes in the outdoor pool, pool slides are hardly ever on, nasty grout and slimy shower walls, and now you have to ask for the personal hygiene products in the locker room? It’s giving planet fitness but literally more than 5 times the price and I think planet fitness is cleaner.

Overall a good experience however it’s confusing on why showers have curtain and not glass doors. To those who have been to other lifetimes, this location is almost replica of Woodstock, GA lifetime besides the shower curtains as Woodstock location has glass doors. Most of the gym equipments were properly maintained and functional which gives this place a 4.5 stars but it doesn’t allow me to do so. Hopefully they will upgrade bathrooms soon. Tv lounge in Men’s room a big plus as well.

Angela an employee who was at the front desk treated us terribly. We can in trying to bring our friend with my membership with me having 2 guest passes and him having signed the parental waiver form. She then informed me that they don’t accept it anymore. I then brought a friend who was above the age of 18 then she rudely told me not to solicit their guests. I went to go complain to a team member and she kicked me off the premises. Please get her fired!

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Angela at the front desk of Lifetime Fitness. Her lack of professionalism and unhelpful attitude made my visit unpleasant. She seemed disinterested in assisting and failed to provide the level of customer service I expected. And when I asked, another employee information she asked me to leave the premises when I brought my brother of color, she assumed that we weren’t related.

I consider Life Time more of a luxury gym and therefore my review is from that point of view. What I’ve witnessed since the Canton location opened is a shift from customer driven to corporate driven. Given that Life Time is a publicly traded company this is not surprising – the distribution of money consumed has a heavy tilt in the direction of those at the top of the company and the shareholders. Instead of distributing more money to customer benefits and general employee compensation. Life Time still has everything in house, which is the appeal for me. But hours have been reduced. I’ve witnessed a reduced workforce at various stations. Equipment is left on the floor too long without repair/replacement. All of this has happened as well as the continued increase in rates. The company memos claim it’s to help reduce gym population. But there are many ways to solve gym population, and charging returning customers more isn’t one of the good options. It does happen to be the greediest of options though. All of this isn’t to say Life Time isn’t good, because they do still provide a lot. However, long-term customers are getting less, or getting the same but at an increased rate. If you can afford the rates, then it’s a good option. The employees that work on the floor are welcoming and helpful. Audrey at the front counter is a rock star. She always knows what to do and remembers everyone’s name. Hadley Ales, who I got lucky enough to be paired up with, is an elite personal trainer. She is one of the most talented and impressive individuals I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting. I don’t even think she specializes in anything because she seems to be able to find answers no matter where they lie. What I can vouch for is she is excellent at working with clients who have previous injuries. It isn’t just her intelligence though, because that only gets you so far, but she knows exactly how to apply the knowledge she has gained. She loves what she does and her passion/dedication for helping others is obvious. The kindness she demonstrates while educating is remarkable. She’s an educator at her core. She is calm and willing to explain things in easily digestible pieces. Regardless of what you think of my opinion, she is the trainer that other trainers go to for answers. That says more about her than I ever could. The actions of her co-workers supplant any words I’ll conjure up. If any corporate folk read this, I hope you do whatever is required to keep Hadley. For the companies benefit, because her talent is generational. That level of talent will retain employees/clients, as well as bring in more of both. But I’m selfishly hoping you’ll do it, because inevitably another employer will recognize her talent and reward her for that. Please beat them to the punch so I don’t have to change gyms.
