bloody towel left on the top of the squat rack is craaaazy.

the gym and the bad apple clientele make me give this gym a 1 star.

I have never seen such a dirty, messy weight room. there are towels left EVERYWHERE. people also leave the sanitizing rags on the machines or floors when there are countless garbage cans everywhere. almost nobody reracks their weights, and if they do, they stack them in a disorganized mess. I once saw a barbell with 2 45's on it that was almost out of reach for me at 5' 6" with long arms. luckily I am strong enough to take the plates off, but I could see people shorter or with less overhead strength being unable to. I also constant see people hogging up sought after machines either staring at their phone for well over 5 mins between sets, walking away for several minutes at a time while leaving their stuff there to "mark their territory," people super setting machines during peak hours, people standing by the machine with their stuff on it while talking to another person for 10+ mins. the disrespect and lack of common courtesy is astounding.

don't even get me started on the alpha classes! they go from 5ish to 7 or 8, which are peak hours. I avoid the gym at these times because the class music is so loud and obnoxious I can hear it through my noise cancelling bose headphones. it's also terrible music in which they don't even play the entire song to boot. they take up 8 of 13 squat racks at PEAK HOURS. if you're looking to use the weight room after work, avoid this gym unless you're willing to go at 8pm.

also crazy to spend $270 a month and be told "no" when you ask the attendants if you can use the resistance bands they have for the classes, even outside of the class hours or when there are no people in the class. they don't have any loop resistance bands on the floor.

the gym equipment is in terrible condition. there are machines that sit broken for months before anyone tries to fix them. they have one hip thrust machine, and people practically fist fight over it. the weight room is way too small for how busy it is, despite having a whole HUGE glass-walled room that I've never seen anyone in any time I've been there. you also cannot use the pool after work because they have kids programs that take up the entire lap pool, indoor or outdoor. so you can't rely on being able to swim unless it's before 5pm or after 8pm.

why do my boyfriend and I keep paying $270 a month for this place? because it has the pools, a lot of cardio, and everything else we need compared to other gyms that are weight-lifting focused. we both weightlift and do cardio/swim. unfortunately, it's Stockholm syndrome at this point until we can find a gym that offers everything we need.

Jeff McMahon, personal trainer at Lifetime Rochester, is one of the best! I've been in my fitness journey for 13+ years and he still showed me new things that I've never even heard of. He is very relatable with a lifetime of experience training himself and clients at all levels. Highly recommend Jeff, and this facility in general - always have a great time coming in. Energy is high and people are kind.

This place is stupid busy and really dirty.

By 6am the men’s bathrooms are so covered in pee they’re unusable. I cringe if I need to use the bathroom on the way to the gym in the morning because I know I’ll have to sit in someone’s urine.

The morning crowd is better than the afternoon. By 6pm not only are the bathrooms still covered in pee, but there are dirty towels and plastic bags in every shower stall, bathroom stall and steam room. And by this point someone’s covered the steam room sensor with wet paper towels making it so hot it’s past any safety guidelines and unusable.

There’s a row of massage chairs that are unplugged and not working. The two working chairs are always in use except very early or late so don’t expect to actually be able to use the equipment. The rowing machines have had dead batteries for weeks, and in general the equipment is not maintained well.

I signed up here because I’d been a member at another club and wanted a gym close with spa amenities. This place is much much dirtier than the other lifetime I’d gone to and I’m shocked for $200/mo they can’t clean the toilets or replace the batteries in the equipment.

I’ve gone nearly every day since joining, sometimes twice, at all times early and late, and it’s consistently dirty and disheveled and you’ll never get to use the massage chairs on your cool down without waiting in line.

My review is specifically for the Pilates studio at Lifetime Rochester Hills. Every pilates instructor here has been outstanding. They’re all very knowledgeable and cater to the needs of the class. They’re kind hearted and considerate of others’ busy lives/schedules. I’ve never had a bad session here, every session is challenging but also relaxing . I’ve always left the studio feeling better than when I came in. You can tell the instructors truly care about helping people. I would 10/10 recommend this Pilates studio, especially to anyone dealing with limitations or chronic pain.

So far no issues. Signed me and my wife up. 270 a month. It was a lot of money a month but if you use the amenities this place has to offer its well worth it. I suffer from back pain...so being able to get a good lift in, then use the steam shower, hot tub and then a shower afterwards is a big thing fir me. Having a pamper day instead of working out is awesome here to. There is a lot of snotty people that work out here so be cautious of that. The workers here seem ok so far. Said hi to a few of them and get no response. Our concierge person I will update his name took us on a tour. Was not pushy said we can come back anytime or register online....that was nice to have that when we live in a day where people are pushing...this gym does not they have an attitude of sign up or don't and had a great pride to show us everything. Beach club looks nice but not needed for the extra fee. I plan to use everything this gym has to offer and get in better shape. One thing I noticed is the members at this gym are very fit so if your coming from a lower type of pricing gym and your not in shape it can be intimidating but besides the few snotty people.....its great.

Gym always looks jammed and packed on the outside but take notice that you don't see that on the inside...its so big and people are doing other things that the actual working out areas are not crowded....not even busy.

Lifetime cafe pool side needs better management. Drinks are poorly made, food is mediocre at best. Guacamole specifically lacked many ingredients or not enough. (Salt, lime, purple onion, cilantro…) Can’t expect much I suppose.

Overall Great Gym and amenities. I find it hilarious that so many people are pissed they are raising their prices. Cancel your membership if you don’t want to pay. That simple lol

The workers at LifeTime are constantly wanting problems. For a gym that has higher costs than surrounding gyms, you would expect better quality service. With that being said, the workers are entertained by the idea of people being upset. They treat their job as a "power trip" and have no care for actual people. I know sometimes one star reviews can be dramatic, but I write this with care and after many personal experiences and stories being shared with me.

I only join this gym for the summer for the pool and hate that I even have to do that. It’s ridiculously expensive and it’s full of large groups of obnoxious, entitled people who lack courtesy for people around them who may actually be trying to relax and don’t know how to clean up after themselves.

This place costs $270 a month for me and my girlfriend. We tried to watch the sunset together at the out door pool on Friday night. We’re told “no guests are allowed at the outside pool because the employees get the pool to themself from 8pm to close…” what a joke. Would absolutely not recommend this place. The front desk people wear suits and ties and are very rude. And they’re all small and obviously don’t lift. You work at a gym 😂. You make $20 an hour. What are you wearing a suit and tie for?

I have been a member since RH opened - 20 + years. Every year the place becomes more crowded, more obnoxious, more expensive and far less enjoyable. The alpha fitness classes in the middle of the weight room are horribly loud to the point I can't hear my music on my Bose noise canceling ear buds. The management team totally ignored my request to tone it down so the 95% of us can hear our music. They essentially told me, "that's alpha fitness - deal with it". There is constant turnover i their staff and management, so apathy is everywhere. I am planning to cancel my membership soon and will look to LA Fitness on 26 Mile, Retro Fitness on Roch Rd, or The Edge Fitness near Marshall's. All seem to provide a much better fitness experience at a far less price tag. Lifetime seems to be in love with their own image.

Expect your rates to increase dramatically the years following signing up at this gym. In less than 10 years (2018-2025) my rates increased 100 percent. This gym does not have any value in it's committed members, unfortunately. The current sign up is astronomical and isn't worth the price.

Stay away from this club they keep raising the fees keep keep shortening the hours keep taking away amenities and bringing in less qualified people to teach the classes and the training staff. You know when you make a copy of a copy of a copy and its not as sharp as the original...Enter Lifetime Fitness. It's diluted from it original form. The focus on DEI nonsense and the managerial staff love to abuse their powers and play favorites to their friends. They like to let you know "they have the right to cancel your membership at anytime without cause". I used to be a member. No longer am.
This is an extremely unreasonable amount for a gym membership. It’s $120 for one person. It was $60 when I joined. The amenities when I first joined were far beyond what they are now.
They’ve cut corners! Classes being cut, half the gym is unavailable. This is just not realistic pricing for such crappy amenities. Pools crowded, staff is meh, locker rooms are dirty. There are much better gyms that have all these amenities and more that charge way less. Consider getting out and saving money. Absolutely ridiculous this place has turned into a joke.

I love this gym with the exception of that one trainer who babysits the cable machine next to the bathroom and that the 6ilb and 8ilb medicine balls have been moved to the studio that we can't touch (told by actual worker), thats why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 5

Update: this gym has gotten worse if you plan to workout and not hear someone yelling over a mic you may not like this gym. They have different classes all going on and they compete with who is the loudest. Being loud is fine but if I’m on the other side of the gym and can’t hear the person next to me, it’s clearly an issue. Lifetime doesn’t care they encourage this I guess but not for me I will be canceling my membership.

Too many price hikes for diminishing services. We pay close to 400$ a month for a family of four. It’s no longer worth it and are going to cancel soon. We’ve been members for years, but it’s time. There are too many options close by and we no longer use the pool (way too many people to be enjoyable).

I used to maintain that it was worth it if you had kids because of the kids’ services. With hours and activities cutbacks, it lost its advantage there as well. The swim lessons were inconsistent even at a higher price than neighboring options.

The value isn’t there anymore.

I'd like to recognize Laura, an amazing staff member at Lifetime. I recently lost my phone at the gym, and Laura went above and beyond to help me find it. She continued looking for it, reassuring me, and kept my spirits high. Her dedication to helping me was remarkable. Laura genuinely cared and made me feel like finding my phone was as important to her as it was to me. Thanks to her unwavering commitment, we eventually found it. I went in there twice to get a tour and could not get one. The first time was 5 minutes before 7pm and member services leaves at 7. The second time was at 4:30pm and the front desk said they can’t do one because they have an individual coming in to do one. The only way is to schedule ahead of time which I was not told that the first time. Apparently they don’t have member services and it’s only the front desk when you first walk in. That might explain the lack of eagerness or care in regards to potential new clients. For a gym that charges 6-8 times more than the average gym you would think they would be more customer service focused.

I’ve been going to Lifetime now for a few months, Rochester is not my home club but I do come here occasionally for yoga and tennis. Before signing up I toured Rochester since I figured I might want to go there from time to time, it was then that I first noticed that the service was slightly off. I walked in and said I’d like to take a tour, front desk attendant 1 rolled her eyes, scoffed, turned to front desk attendant 2 and goes “He wants a tour..”. Front desk attendant 2, struck with disappointment and astonishment, goes “Well I’m leaving in 45 minutes. But I’ll do it.” The tour was uneventful after that point but that atrocious encounter in customer service sticks with me.
Poor service is one thing but what I can’t get over is how poorly the club is kept. When you walk in your nostrils are immediately filled with this disgusting burning plastic/puke smell that apparently “comes from the roof when it gets hot”. I smell it every time I go there, it’s awful and they don’t do anything about it despite charging their members $179/mo to go there (I pay more than that, btw). You’d think they’d have enough money to fix it but rumor has it Lifetime is actually going broke. Yikes. Then most recently, for at least the past week or two the men’s showers have been under construction resulting in 10-15 minute waits to use the shower. Again, not enough money to pay someone to come in and regrout the showers quickly at low traffic times. As I stood there tonight sweaty and tired and waiting to shower (after shaving using a sink that only produced cold water) I started to notice just how disgustingly dirty the men’s locker room is. There’s some kind of blackish-grayish goo all over the wet floor. Dirty bandaids, used sopping wet towels, toilet paper and razor caps litter the floor. When I go to complain at the front desk I’m told that they know the men’s locker room is a disaster and that it’s mainly attributed to the “600 extra people coming in to use the outdoor pool.” I said “So why don’t you staff appropriately when there’s 600 extra people coming in?” She goes “It’s fixed, we can’t have any more than 5 locker room attendants on.”
Anyway, I don’t know what else to say; disgusting stinky gym, rude staff, broke, don’t go here. Not worth it.

Oh.. and just as a little something for the people posting reviews angry that they can’t bring guests to the outdoor pool without paying $50 - we other paying members don’t want your guests in our pool. This location can’t afford to keep the facilities clean and smelling decent for the members it already has.

I asked them if I added my brother to my membership and if he ends up canceling would that affect my rate that I was grandfathered into. They said no it wouldnt. It did affect my membership because of removing him after. They didnt care to fix it. I called the club about 7 times and it took the manager 3 weeks to give me a call back. Besides that rate increase, they increased my rate 3 times in the last few years. Grimy gym. Always trying to raise your rate and you get nothing out of it.

I called into Rochester lifetime two times to double check if they had a guest fee for the pool during weekdays and the lady at the front desk said no only on Saturday and Sunday. My sister went into the club with her friend and they proceeded to tell her it was a $50 fee for the pool. Understandable, the guest rules, but the fact that this was not specified over the phone made me upset. I called back to speak with the lady who had told me there was no charge on the weekdays and a man answered the phone trying to connect me to her. A lady named Kim that works at member Concierage answered the phone and was very rude said to me “no one would tell you we had no guest fee” “nothing about rochester is free” as I proceeded to tell her I work at member Concierage myself at Lifetime fitness. I have been working there for over 3 years. We have never been taught to speak like this over the phone or to members. I had just explained why something different was said over the phone and in person and she proceeded to say “we make no exceptions for staff”. I never asked for an exception. I was asking about policies. Extremely unprofessional behavior from Kim. This is not how we train member concierage employees to speak to members/team members.

But when my guest and I entered the club the front desk said we would need to pay $50 for pool access, which was NOT mentioned over the phone. Train your staff better!! For a club that charges so much it should be more accommodating to guests instead of being money hungry and changing the rules every summer.

Lifetime used to be the cream of the crop and the best gym option in Michigan by a country mile. That has drastically changed in the last 4-5 years. This Lifetime in particular was always clean, the employees were always polite, and the infrastructure was kept up to date. Now, the locker rooms, bathrooms, pool, etc. are always dirty and not kept up well, the employees are rude, non-understanding and impatient, and the common areas, basketball courts, and pool haven’t been updated since the early 2000s. It is my opinion that this particular lifetime location is watering down the quality of their basketball courts because they are trying to either abolish the basketball clientele by refusing to update the courts, or they are transforming the basketball courts to pickle ball, even though have 8+ tennis courts they are seldom used. This is not the once amazing, clean, 24-hour gym it used to be. There has been a basketball rim broken for about 8 years now and they have refused to fix it. The quality has gone out the window.

This is such a hard review to write but I feel it should be done. This location in particular has some very interesting ways of communicating changes to the members. After many years of being a supportive member of this club I had my prices hiked twice in one year while also having services and privileges taken away. I spoke with people multiple times on phone calls and in person to confirm the changes and what my new terms of service were. I was given conflicting information after inquiring about the changes and asking for a confirmation that the price and changes were set for the calendar year. I was told by the membership desk they were secured at the price for the year. Four months later they hiked the price again and then added nothing back after already taking liberties to change the terms not even a calendar year ago. I tried to address them about being disappointed. I believed they should have made some sort of accommodation and showed some accountability for telling me the price was set for the year. If I would have known they looked to change it again I would have put it on hold until the months I could actually use it and decided then how to proceed. I made the choice to keep supporting them with full fees because the price was reasonable and we had spoken on it. I was met with a lot of very condescending responses and no one seemed to care and just told me to pay all the fees and I couldn’t cancel for another month and just a lot of power playing. It’s really frustrating after treating them with respect and support to be met with so much arrogance. Even worse my kids are so disappointed we won’t be back this summer, but I don’t see how I can keep them connected to my accounts when they make the terms and pricing so unsecured. Canceling was one of the hardest choices because I saw this club as part of our community and really appreciate so many connections we made there. The fact that I had not paused my membership hardly at all over the pandemic and inflation years while hardly using the club meant nothing to them. As a local business owner and member of the chamber this is not how good people do business in Rochester. This is how sharks do business. From how they conducted themselves with me I have come to the conclusion they don’t have much respect for their clients and don’t appreciate long term customers. At these prices you almost could go to a country club alternatively, but I believe the security would be better and the help would be more respectful.

I have been a Lifetime member for most of the past 14 years. Since I’ve joined, they keep taking away services, but still increasing prices. One of the reasons I joined was so I could work out at night after work (after midnight), but they started closing Rochester at night, told me to go to a different location. Who really wants to drive an extra 10+ miles? Now ALL locations are closed at night. Let me get this right, charge you more, take away hours/availability. Almost seems illegal, breach of the contract I signed. I took my family off since they weren’t really using it (save a couple bucks), but because I changed something, I now have to pay for a “signature membership “. AKA pay more per month. I like to play racquetball, took those courts out, but I’m still paying. They took away half of the equipment to make room for alpha and GTX classes, but now I have to wait to get on a machine. But my rates have increased, and I have to listen to their blaring music (other people workout you realize and want to be able to hear themselves think). Haven’t updated most of the weight equipment since I’ve been there. But you can always find a sign up on a broken machine. I’ve tried the yoga studio, but the music was so loud, the teacher had to yell. A lot. Poor instruction. Not exactly a relaxing experience. I actually go to a local studio instead. The only reason I’ve stayed is it has a pool and I like swim occasionally, but I’m really thinking it isn’t worth it anymore.

We decided to join mostly for the tennis - there is simply no other tennis option in the area. Now that we have been members for the past 3 months I am still in awe of the sheer amount of amazingness in this location! More like a resort/club than a gym.
The tennis courts are beautiful but definitely hard to get at peak times. However we have found so much more beyond tennis to enjoy here. Every single class I've taken has been really a joy; the instructors are all highly motivating, professional and easy to follow. As a newbie, you feel at ease very quickly. Other members are friendly and welcoming. All this makes it easy to achieve your health/fitness goals when you're not dreading going to the gym. Instead, using the app and choosing from the extensive list of classes is seriously fun - like what will I try next?!

LifeTime Fitness is more a country club than a fitness studio. Don't get me wrong, you can train very well here and they have a lot of classes for all people, but everything around makes the experience much more.

Starting from two basketball courts, to multiple tennis and pickleball courts, up to a meditation room, indoor and outdoor swimming, steam and sauna, and many more.

It is for sure at the higher end for the price, but it is worth it. During rush hours, it could be cleaner sometimes, but I learned to avoid the peak times.

And if you are around, try out the life cafe. All kinds of drinks, foods and other staff. 5 easy stars from me.

Members for 20+ years. Per the staff the club is NOT liable for any injuries or anything so enter at own risk! Just getting worse! Rules change by the hour. Kids area provides mostly coloring for the kids nowadays. My child was injured and I've tried contacting management 3x by phone and no call back, 1x in person and Noone ever gets back to you or cares. BUT your membership contract does say you'll have annual price hikes. We've been yelled at by staff too many times to count for literally trying to enter and just utilize what we pay for.

I’ve been with lifetime for 4-5 years now. I used to love the equipment options and hours of operation prior to COVID, but so much has changed in the last couple years:

Pros:
- Equipment variety and access to free weights
- They do well to get equipment fixed ASAP
- The staff I’ve encountered (at Rochester) are very friendly
- I don’t like swimming but, for those who do, the outdoor and indoor pool is a perk
- the sauna is maintained well if you can dodge busy hours

Cons:
- They’re no longer 24/7 but have started charging way more (and still increasing)
- I’ve noticed an increase in young kids running around in the weight and machine areas without adult supervision
- Navigating around the classes they have is really frustrating when it’s taking up equipment such as the new 10 squat racks, most of the floor mats, and majority of the plyometric boxes
- The guest limitation is a bummer
- They hold back some equipment and space just for classes that you don’t have access to even when classes aren’t happening (e.g. resistance band loops, weight balls, empty rooms that could be used for interval training, etc)
- Rochester is fairly good about cleanliness but some of the other locations have so many weights left out and stacked wrong that half your workout will be putting them back or navigating around them

You change whether you are platinum, onyx, or whatever title you want in order to sound more elite but still offering the same services. A nice gym! Albeit quite pricey. The environ's are really nice, there is a decent amount of equipment, their hot tubs / steam showers are great, and they have a nice sitting area in the lockerroom. They even have a place to grab a bite to eat if you need a pick-me-up. The prices are too high though unless you frequently play tennis, parking is rough, and the weight equipment is better @ other lower-cost Lifetime locations

Friendly staff. Never have had any issues with them. Ops does a great job of cleaning considering the size / volume of club. The fitness floor is laid out correctly. I would like precor / cybex equipment to disappear and more keiser equipment. An emphasis on strength / conditioning & sports performance would pay dividends instead of the typical fitness weight loss. Really appreciate that the basketball courts have stayed basketball courts not pickleball courts. Pools are always cleaned. Only negative would be the massive number of people vaping but that's not the club fault. Lung Cancer can handle that. GameFace needs to establish itself in the clubs across metro Detroit. Amazing facilites and friendly stuff but I am dissapointed of the last policy changes while I get that there may be some additional costs by the use of a tennis ball machine ( maintenance, ball wear out) 10 dls per hours seems excessive 5 would be acceptable , what I am really upset is that you are not allowed to.bring a hopper of balls, and actually request from the club that would be actually the opposite of cost savings as those balls would need to be replaced

It’s a sad state of affairs. I’ve been going to LT on and off since I joined the LT in Parker, CO in 2008. It’s been downhill for LT ever since. At my wife’s insistence, I gave LT a fourth try. Unsurprisingly I canceled my membership after a few months.

The facility is nice with lots of amenities and it would be unfair if I didn’t praise the staff. Most of them are wonderful and helpful people.

Fundamentally, they can’t provide an experience on par with the price. LT now wants to market itself as a sort of country club but it’s business model won’t allow it to live up to its marketing. Consequently, they can’t hold their employees or members accountable for their behavior. They can’t really afford to fire anyone in this job market and they can’t kick people out because their upper management is incompetent and they’re bleeding money. There’s only so many people who are willing to pay what they’re asking.

The rules are applied selectively if at all. You have people parking in handicap and family spaces who shouldn’t be. There is, and has always been, a big problem with gym etiquette at LT. Few people break their bars down or put things back. Members still can’t quite get the hang of counting by fives and putting dumbbells back where they belong. You have people going into the sauna with muddy shoes on with loud mouthed gym rats bantering across the sauna about their marital problems. It becomes tiresome.

Members should be held to some basic standards if they want to belong to a $145 per adult “country club” gym.

I’d challenge anyone to walk into any other gym, athletic club, or CrossFit Box at this price point and find such blatant refusal to follow or enforce the rules.

The problem isn’t fixable either because you can’t foster a sense of responsibility where there is no real community. A plurality of LT’s members are perfectly content leading an atomized existence, browsing social media earbuds in place.

I was paying close to four hundred dollars a month for my family to belong there. I’d rather dial it back, ditch the amenities, come in, work out and leave or throw more money at the problem and join an actual country club. This place is the worst of both worlds.

Their logo should be “Life time fitness of Rochester hills where our equipment and technology works 50% of the time and the rules change daily!” This place is $350 a month for a family of four and is supposed to be an enjoyable place for everyone. Very overpriced. Before the pandemic, before they cut back their services and hours, the cost was justified. Then they reduced their open hours, reduced the available hours of the special services they offered, and increased their monthly membership prices. With a multitude of other excellent gyms available, with better hours, for less than half the cost, there is just no way to justify the membership.

It was ok. My boyfriend has a membership and I went with him.
My biggest issue is the towels. They aren't plus-size friendly (I'm size 18) so I have to use two and hope I don't traumatize someone with a nip slip or worse.
The showers in the women's locker room were slimy and had hair in them, so I really hated that shower.
Life Fitness doesn't let you bring a person more than once every two months-you have to pay for your spouse/partner to go with you more than once every 60 days. I can tell that they don't see me as a person, but solely as a source of money. It feels awful. I'll be trying to find somewhere less expensive, more inclusive, and cleaner. This company doesn't give me good vibes.

Yesterday around 6pm I went to Lifttime Fitness to drop my 3 year old daughter off at the children's center. After exercising, I went to the children's center to pick up my daughter at 7:15 pm, but no one found her. I opened the bathroom door and found her trembling on the floor alone! I asked the staff when my daughter went to the bathroom and she replied that it was 6:45pm for a shift change. I was shocked that my daughter cringed inside for 30 minutes by herself without any supervision! ! ! Later, the staff refused my daughter to stay inside for a long time. I asked to check the cameras but was told only the general manager has access. The staff called the general manager and said that the general manager lives nearby, is on the road, and will arrive soon.

We waited there for 40 minutes and the last woman in black came to the children's center and said something to the staff and she left. We didn't realize at the time that the woman was the general manager. We found out after looking at her LinkedIn profile picture.

Then we waited another 10 minutes and another woman came to us and said she was the duty manager and she told us the general manager wouldn't be here tonight and we had to wait until the next morning.

We called liftime the next day and was told the general manager would not be in the office for at least 1 week!

We are so outraged at how they handled it! You must learn how to respect your customers, you represent LT. Where does your salary come from? Nor would I recommend Kids Camp to other parents.

Now I understand why this gym has a three star review. I’ve been to three of the Lifetime branchs in Michigan and I have a no complaints, but this is not the case with the Rochester branch. The staff is so rude, and seem very full of themselves. I was on some equipment and was told to get off (very rudely) by an instructor as a class was beginning. I would have had no problem with this if he wasn’t so rude! His tone and attitude said a lot. I always talk about how clean the Lifetime gyms are, but this was not the case at Rochester!! It was disgusting, I did not feel comfortable enough to use to showers or the pool. I pay $260 a month for a horrible environment. A place that is supposed to make me feel healthy and happy, has done nothing but disappoint and sadden me. Would have been better off going to one of the $10 gyms.

My son Alex got a haircut here and it is horrendous. There are some bald spot on his head and it is unacceptable. My poor son is embarrassed to go to school on Monday now, and this has caused him self confidence issues. Today, after the haircut, my son even asked me to get some hair growth gummies and serum because he was so embarrassed to go to his friend’s house afterward. I will never ever let him come here for a hair cut again, and I hope that you guys hire better hair dressers or implement some employee training for the sake of the rest of the children getting haircuts here. I cannot believe how bad my son’s hair cut is. When I saw the final result, I tried so hard not to laugh at my son, but I couldn’t hold it in. It is so frustrating that my son has to go through this. Monday, I am going to the pharmacy and getting him depression meds because he is going to need it as a result of this hair cut.

Ann Marie is disrespectful, rude, and you don’t want to bump into her she’s a typical KAREN! I’ve been a member since 2012 and I was told i’m grandfathered in to the Rochester club when they moved up the membership level. I utilized the club all summer long and no one stopped me at the front desk. Apparently in November they upgraded the prices to the Rochester club so I was forced to pay more to use the Rochester club.
Few times this year I was let in without anything said to me by lifetime staff. When Ann Marie was working she was super hesitant and didn’t allow me access to the club. I was basically forced to leave i’ve been a member since 2012.
if she’s feels you’re middle eastern she’s going to racially profile you. She’s a bad representation of this company. I’ve already called corporate on her for manipulating a situation that didn’t happen and for her leaving false information notes in my account. It was as if she knew i was going to call and complain for the way she was talking to me… so she wrongfully notated my account to cover up her mistake to save her job and these were her words to me, “this is a high end gym you don’t belong here go to shelby.”
The reason why I’m mad is because i’m traveling to Canada and utilizing one of the ACTUAL HIGH END CLUBS and they graciously told me that they would let me in while i’m there. The Canadian Lifetime Club is equivalent to a Diamond level so it’s the highest level and they left notes in the account and to check in with the front desk upon arrival, no problem.
If Rochester was such a high end club like Ann Marie told me it was, then they need to start by working on their staff. I even called to talk to her and she hung up on my face. That’s what led me to writing this review.
I’m not the type to leave negative reviews but after everything i’ve experienced this needs to be put out there. Usually I end my reviews with a Thank you.
Shame on you Ann Marie.
