Jon started by talking about my history and my goals before crafting a work out routine that was personalized to me. Are you looking for a great gym or trainer? John at Maxx fitness is great. He is very knowledgeable in nutrition and very motivational when working out. John has modified my workouts when I have hurt myself and showed me stretches to help with my injury. Injuries were not because of the workouts! 🤣 He keeps me going when I say I can’t (don’t want to do it).

I started training with John when I was newly pregnant and safely continued for my whole pregnancy and since then. There is no better "bang for the buck" - with just a couple sessions a week I'm stronger and more flexible than I have been in years. John is motivating yet easy going, and as a woman I feel perfectly comfortable training on my own with him. In addition to strength training expertise he also has a lot of nutrition and kinesiology know-how that he uses to approach every session comprehensively. It's been been well worth the time and money.

John at Maxx Fitness has been great. After meeting with me to learn about my goals, he has been creating customized workouts to help me meet them during our one-on-one sessions. With over 20 years of experience, I have found him to be super knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition information. He has a kind demeanor while also pushing me to keep going and finish all the reps! I was sold a personal training package at the Maumee Ohio location, then they closed. I received an email stating that my unused sessions would be refunded within 15 days. It has been 18 days and I have not received a refund. There is no one to contact about this! Be advised! I feel scammed!

John takes a individual approach with his clients. He listens to his clients goals and caters to their body types to assure results and safety. He recognizes the value of proper nutrition and will outline how you should be eating to achieve your goals. I weighed 147 lbs when I started with him. Three months later i had been steadily gaining 1-2 lbs of muscle a week and i had been training with him twice a week. My final weight was 173 lbs of healthy muscle.

Before starting personal one on one training with John, owner of Maxx Fitness, I had worked with three other personal trainers. None of them had near the knowledge, expertise and ability to motivate as John. His knowledge of nutrition also helped me make a complete lifestyle change as I began to look at labels with attention not just to calories but contents. Starting with John at age 65, there were arthritis issues to overcome and what a difference conditioning can do to eliminate knee pain. John also helped with pre and post surgery with a total hip replacement knowing precisely what was needed for me to recover limp free. I’m feeling so great now that I’ve even started beginner tennis lessons at age 72! Your training is specific to you and only you. Your goals are John’s goals for you. You’re a team with John. I recommend him highly.

I’ve been training with John for a year now, and believe he is one of the most experienced & committed trainers around. I started training a few times a week & really enjoyed the variety & challenge he put into the workouts, so I started going 5 days a week.

John is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging (& somehow fun). Excellent one on one training, John is friendly and patient, but drives you to better on each session. The gym is always clean, the equipment is nice and the environment is private so you get a more personalized program based on your exact needs. The nutritional information john helps with is also the base of the whole program, and I look forward meals and the results of the combo.
