Mindful Movement has been offering breath-centered, therapeutic Yoga classes in Monroe County for almost 20 years. We teach group, private, semi-private and corporate classes. We also offer workshops and Yoga retreats in the U.S. and Internationally. All of our teachers have completed at least 200 in-person hours toward their training. Most teachers have much more experience. Come check out a class, and see the difference that makes. Everyone is welcome.

I have been practicing yoga for 18 plus years and feel proud to call Mindful Movement my yoga home. Malissa Whited, is a talented teacher, that goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcome, safe and comfortable during their yoga practice. Over the past 7 years that I have known Malissa and attended Mindful Movement, I have not only grown in my yoga practice, but have made lifelong friends and experienced many new adventures. Malissa is always the first to greet you with a hug, give words of encouragement and make you feel welcome. Monroe is truly lucky to have such a great yoga teacher and yoga community.

I am so grateful to call this my yoga hOMe!❤️ I have practiced at Mindful Movement for 8 years . I came to find yoga after a severe illness. I have several health problems including a muscle disease with chornic pain. Malissa is very knowledgeable in yoga and anatomy both. She shows multiple options for poses. She will gently adjusts you as needed if you need to feel more in a pose, or if you are in an unsafe position. She is completely open to any question and willing to stay after class to help you in anyway. l leave every class feeling better than when I walked in. To this day I still learn something new in every class also. I was able to do my 200 hour teacher training under Malissa. I completed the course feeling completely confident to teach a yoga class. I felt supported through the whole process by Malissa.
Yoga has changed my life and I am so grateful I found such a beautiful place to practice.

When I first joined I couldn't even tie my shoes because of back issues. After meeting Melissa and attending private lessons and eventually group classes, I can now place my palms on the floor in a forward bend. In fact I improved so much I attended her 200 hr. teacher training and became a certified instructor with Yoga Alliance. Excellent teacher. I highly recommend Yoga for back pain and Mindful Movement Yoga studio.

Mindful Movement has allowed me to grow in a positive direction. Malissa is an amazing soul and yoga instructor with inspiring guidance! I’ve been attending the studio for a little over a year now and it has given me the strength, courage, and knowledge to practice yoga anywhere. I wish I could leave 10 stars! I am blessed to know Malissa and to practice at Mindful Movement. She is extremely knowledgeable, caring, and passionate. She is a hands on instructor, always willing to help you find a variation that works for you. The studio space is amazing. The community she has cultivated is welcoming and encouraging--completely judgement free! This is my yoga home.

Malissa Whited is a gifted yoga teacher. She is extremely knowledgeable about yoga physiology and philosophy as well as human anatomy. She is very attentive to her students and their needs. She will make you feel that each class is customized just for you! The community she has built at her studio and beyond is strong, supportive and welcoming. Whether you're new to yoga or have been practicing for years, you will learn something at Mindful Movement and leave each class in a better mood than you came.

I have been working with Malissa for 8 years and I look forward to every class. She is kind, patient, explains movements and modifications extremely well. She cares about each person's needs and tries to address them each class. She has helped cure back pain that bothered me for years before attending her classes.She is not only a wonderful ,caring, well informed instructor but she is also a very dear friend. Malissa is a wonderful person to work with in every class I have been at she always asks before class if anyone needs to work on anything special.
She teaches in a very therapeutic way that helps with all my back and shoulder issues.

Started going to Malissa's studio a year ago ... Did not know what I was missing. I would definitely be a lost sole without her....She is a amazing instructor. Knowledgeable. Caring,always making sure you are doing movements correctly. You are in very good hands at this studio.

Malissa is the best! I started yoga 3 years ago. I've tried different instructors and studios and I find myself liking Mindful Movement the most because she instructs the class for everyone with modifications at a level you need. I have been dealing with joint issues for 2 years and Malissa really takes the time to accommodate me. Highly recommend!!

I went through the 200 hour yoga training. Would not recommended. Was not very impressed. She would not listen to other people opinions. She never work with my disability and discuses my personal information to other people.

I would leave zero stars if i could. The owner completely exploits her clinets (yoga instructor trainees), sets them up with opportunities and then jeopardizes their success. I felt cheated when i attendes this studio.

Mellisa was wonderful instructor. Very helpful. Gave multiple options for the different poses to help everyone achieve the best out of the class. Took time out of her day to talk with me after class on different poses that would be beneficial for me to continue to do daily at home to help with specific areas.
