Can’t say enough good things about my experience at Mitten Fitness! The energy at this place is great, good people at every turn. I’ve been training with Colby who is the perfect blend of supportive and challenging. I think what this gym has that is unique is a true sense of community. And that community ranges in both age and fitness level. I also appreciate that they are reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

The JV conditioning class at Mitten Fitness is awesome, and my son loves it! Not only has he started paying attention to moving his body, but he has also gained an improved overall sense of health and fitness. Our conversations at dinner have evolved into discussions about food groups and energy spend and a balanced diet. He loves it SO much, he's paying for a portion of the classes himself. Thanks for including the kids in developing good fitness habits - getting them involved early is so important.

I recently moved to Dexter, and joined Mitten Fitness. The community has been incredibly welcoming and encouraging. I love the variety of programming between strength and endurance. I've been attending the 5 am workout and am so impressed by how many people show up at that time of day. I'm used to working out with 3-5 other people at 5am, not 6-12. So that is totally awesome.

I've only been working out Mitten Fitness for two weeks, but it's been a great investment in my health (both mental and physical).

My son has been doing JV CrossFit. Colby was great to get us started. He took the time to really learn about what our goals were ahead of time which has resulted in my son feeling very successful during classes. He’s sad when he can’t go! 2 years ago, I made the best decision by walking through their doors. I was in the worst shape of my life, and feeling nervous and intimidated. I didn’t know what to expect but my trepidation quickly went away. They have people of all ages at varying fitness levels and it truly is a no judgment zone. The members (and the knowledgeable coaches) have been nothing but encouraging and supportive. It’s a great community I would encourage anyone to try!

I joined Mitten Fitness 6ish months ago. Showing up to Mitten Fitness on my day 1 was great and continues to be a good experience. The coaches are wonderful and the other members are very welcoming. It can be scary stepping in a gym space and a new space but everyone there made the transition easy. Lots of different times to choose from for classes. Knowledgeable coaching staff. Great atmosphere. Glad I took a chance and joined Mitten Fitness.

I really can't say enough good things about this place. I mostly attend the functional movement classes with Crossfit-style workouts. The variety of exercises from class to class keeps it fresh and interesting. The class leaders/coaches are attentive to the point of feeling like personal training. One huge dynamic of the group workouts is that everyone works at their own level and pace. There is zero pressure to push yourself to some arbitrary limit. There is a ton of encouragement from the coaches and other gym members.

I was terrified to start. I hadn’t been active other than a few Couch to 5k’s since college and certainly never any strength training. I have a friend that goes to Mitten Fitness and he encouraged me to try it. GREAT decision. The coaches are knowledgeable, supportive, helpful, and kind. The folks that go are equally awesome. I was scared; I’m not anymore. My blood pressure is great now, I’m way stronger, still overweight but making progress. I’d encourage anyone to try it!

A little over 4 years ago I made one of best decisions of my life. I walked thru the door, met Coach Hutch and decided to join what was then called CrossFit Dexter. I was more than 25 pounds over a healthy weight. I could not run a mile or do a pull up…but I was welcomed and encouraged. Because of the love and acceptance of my fit family I have become healthy again. I gained enough confidence as an athlete that I decided to sign up and run my first Marathon. My plan was to do that in 2020 but the pandemic put that dream on hold. I ran the Detroit Marathon yesterday. I am sore but the gym and some of our more challenging workouts has taught me I will easily recover. Special thanks to Ken Hutchinson, Colby Buswell, Robin Witte, Dennis Murray, Melissa Gerharter, Joshua Fink ,and CJ Axer as coaches you have pushed and inspired me. I am so very grateful to you all. To the rest of my fellow members I am excited to return my fitness focus back to the gym. My next goals are to get Double Unders and a Handstand Push up. It’s all about the community. I’m a mother of 2 young children and wanted to have the strength and energy to keep up. It took me far too long to sign up in fear that I would not succeed. I was so wrong! I’m in my first year and cannot believe how quickly I saw improvements. The coaches are amazing and design the programs to your level. The other members become your biggest supporters, friends, and cheerleaders as they have once been in your shoes too. If you are on the fence, book a consult and I hope to see you there. When I moved to the area I wanted to try out a few different CrossFit gyms to see which would be the best fit for me. I reached out to CrossFit Dexter and was able to correspond with the owner Ken. He was extremely helpful and made it super easy to arrange a drop in try out class. When I arrived I could immediately tell that CrossFit Dexter was nicer than many of the CrossFit gyms I have been to. The facility was neat and well equipped. While Ken was not the coach of the class I attended, he was there and we got to chat for a little bit. He was every bit as helpful in person as he was over email. The class itself was small, the coach was helpful and engaged with all the members. I got a great workout and would recommend CrossFit Dexter to anyone looking for a quality gym.

Just started here a month ago, and, so far, I love it. They take their time on the intro month and show you, in detail, how to do each lift. Then, before each workout, they show you again to make sure you're doing it properly so as not to hurt yourself. All the coaches are awesome, but Hutch is amazing. He's truly passionate about what he does and helping you to reach your goals. He's kind of the perfect coach: completely non-judgmental about where you are starting out and excited to help you. I don't feel pressured to do more than I am able; only encouraged to try a little harder than I think I can. I always leave knowing I put everything out on the floor.
There are folks here of every fitness level and age. Everyone is made to feel welcome, and there's a modification for every exercise if you're not quite there yet. I'm so glad my partner and I decided to try crossfit, and even happier we're at Crossfit Dexter.

I visited Dexter, MI over the easter weekend and had a really great time at Crossfit Dexter. The facility is nice and the coaches are AMAZING. Shout out to Coach Hutch and Coach Jane who gave me some really good tips. I've visited other boxes while traveling, but I can say that Crossfit Dexter is one of my favorites. I was impressed by the nice facility and the workouts were a lot of fun. The CF Dexter community was warm and welcoming and made me feel like home. Can't wait to visit again soon!

I absolutely love this place! At first I was always a little intimidated to start crossfit because of my perception of it being weight lifting based, but I was completely wrong. The workouts are so fun and seriously go by SO fast I am always surprised the hour has passed. There are people there of all ages, body types and fitness levels, you do NOT have to be a strict weight lifter to enjoy crossfit. The trainers here in Dexter are awesome and are so detailed every class with how to perform each exercise properly so you do not end up hurting yourself (which also helps me recall each exercise if I have forgot). They will even stop you in a timed exercise to make sure you are doing things right and not just trying to get a good time. Highly recommend crossfit Dexter to anyone looking to improve their health and fitness!
