Move with Joy is a gem of the Edison neighborhood! Joy is enthusiastic and supportive teacher, no matter where you are on your fitness journey. I love that it's walkable if you live in the neighborhood, and that their classes are at convenient times like lunch break during the week, and also evening and weekend options. Additionally, it's clear that Joy and her partner are committed to their community, as they frequently offer free classes to the community and scholarships for youth who would like to take their dance classes.

The studio is light filled, and full of colorful artwork! Joy stocks everything you might need during a class, including yoga mats, blocks, bands, etc. The prices are very reasonable, most classes are $10 to drop in. Go check it out!

We joined a dance class through the YMCA And it happened to be at Mive with Joy and thank goodness because this place is great!

Classes are affordable and not crazy full so there is more hands on instruction for the kids.

Joy is incredible with the kids. She was clearly born to teach!

We got a punch card for $40 for 5 classes. A great deal as classes are $10 a class. You can even drop in too! Great option to keep your kids active this summer. We look forward to more classes here. My daughter is so happy to be taking these classes!

It doesn't take long once you enter their studio space that you feel the love and heart of this venture. Joy is a light and a gifted dancer. She interacts and teaches with love, skill, and tenderness. She is innovative with Aerick combining dance styles to offer all ages and interests something special. Aerick is a kind and gentle soul who creates origami with heartfelt intention and combines it with other media to give it his signature and layers of meaning and purpose.
Together they are offering their gifts in service to the community. Anyone who steps in the door will be better for it.

Moving with J♥Y is such an amazing honor and JOY!!! The studio is accurately named because JOY is what I, and so many others in our community, experience by being at such a welcoming, inclusive, safe, and beautiful space filled with care, kindness, and love. My body, mind, and spirit are strengthened and supported by being in the presence of Joy and by taking her fun, interesting, and challenging yoga 🧘‍♀️ and Pilates classes. Joy and Aerick have dreamed BIG, and then worked so faithfully to make their dreams come true through creating, opening, and operating their studio that offers so many opportunities to experience art in a multitude of forms. I'm hard pressed to find two more kind, selfless and passionate people in Kalamazoo than Joy and Aerick. The pure joy, love and energy they put into their business shows and they are a real asset to their community that they serve and go above and beyond to be inclusive and bring in other artists to share their space with them. I love that the classes are drop in! It's great to have that flexibility for my 5 year old. Joy is so full of love and positivity and takes time to connect with each student. Fantastic studio run a wonderful and patient teacher, Joy! My girls love to dance, though they're not as coordinated as they wish they were. Joy is so patient and careful with the kids. I don't know how she does it, but she helps each kid see the JOY of dance.

Joy is the most AMAZING instructor I have ever worked with!!! She is knowledgeable and skilled in everything she teaches and it shows! She is so kind and considerate, always including variations during class to make sure that everyone is getting a good experience no matter what level they are at.
