MVP great facility, with a professional staff. Benjamin George worked with me prior to my total knee replacement. I explained to him what my surgeon wanted as far as strengthening lower body, would accelerate recovery. Mission accomplished, 6 week recovery. Ben did an excellent job. I would highly recommend Ben and MVP, they are great!

The Rockford MVP staff are very friendly and instructors/trainers are very knowledgeable. I workout first thing in the morning and have made a lot of new friends over the past 8 years. The culture is one of encouragement and high fives. I do the sprint 45, zone 45 and torch 45 classes burning on average over 1,500 calories each class. I also use the personal group training for my heavy lifting days. This year on average I have safely lifted 22,400 lbs each lifting day. Rockford MVP is an excellent solution for health and fitness, emotional health, character, intellectual, social life, and quality of life. My wife is also a member of MVP and loves working out at the club. Therefore, MVP also supports our love relationship. I would recommend MVP Athletic Club, Rockford to anyone who has a healthy life vision.

From swimming lessons for my children to personal training for myself, I love that my children get to see first hand how exercise and mental health are important for all ages and are lifelong aspirations not just a one and done.

MVP Rockford offers a variety of great amenities including many awesome classes from turf, to court, to cycle, to classroom!!! Rockford has two beautiful pools. 4 Lane lap pool (81-82 degrees), warm pool (93-94 degrees) great for kiddos and swimming lessons and everyone else who loves warm swimming. They also have a large capacity whirlpool (103. - 104 degrees) and two beautiful cold plunges ( 44-48 degrees) great for recovery and inflammation reduction!
State of the fitness floor with everything you need for a full intense workout and a full size gymnasium with available noon basketball. Full size track and so much more! Be sure to call today to get your free tour. Rockford MVP might just be your next best fitness adventure!!!

Clean facility. Wide variety of fitness classes. Wish weekend hours in the winter would go back to pre covid. Not a lot to offer for the 8 to 11 age group. Too young to be alone in the gym, but most have "outgrown" kids stuff. Wish they could be on the turf with a parent or that there were class options for that age that did not cost extra.

I really want to love this place because it is so convenient, however I do not. It is a bit long in the tooth and for what I pay in dues, updates would be appreciated. I don't play tennis, but enjoy the track, equipment, steam room, and pool area. Another issue is the staff, I have asked for help with the weight equipment to which I was given a less than stellar introduction. She just walked me around the club (like I was new - which I was not) and then said I just had to follow the directions on the equipment. I feel that with what I pay in dues i should be able to ask for help with form and how to correctly use the equipment. When I first joined, I got a tour, of the facility but that was it. it really makes me feel like the staff is not approachable. I will continue to use the club, but for what I pay, I am not seeing the value, I guess that is what I get for convenience

MVP is simply the best fitness facility across the board. It's incredible size and wide range of varying exercise/sport options make it perfect for anyone, from the competitive athlete like myself to the person in jeans that just needs to get a long walk in. All ages, sizes, and walks of life are welcome here, and treated with respect by fellow members and staff. The community within these walls is amazing! If you aren't a member yet, you should be.

Terrible experience-zero stars if I could. Moved out of town, tried to cancel my month-to-month membership at MVP Rockford Athletic Club, but they wouldn't budge. Got slapped with a $116 charge anyway, despite no contract tying me down. Their staff just hid behind policy with zero flexibility or empathy. Not a place I'd recommend-feels like they're more about squeezing money than keeping customers happy.

A couple months ago we canceled our membership because the facility is not clean with mold in steam rooms and showers and toilets out of order. Great experience so far I enjoy coming here..my only complaint is the bathrooms. Why is there always piss all over the toilets? Itโs been so consistent that I genuinely canโt tell if it is being done intentionally or if the bathrooms just arenโt cleaned regularly enough? Either way, as long as I donโt need to sit down on any toilets I always enjoy my time here.

Pre paid for 1 year of membership ahead of time, which I stated explicitly I only needed for 1 year (which is why I pre paid the amount). But of course these people just try to farm me for months afterwards and then tell me they canโt cancel it for me and I have to jump through a bunch of hoops to cancel. They think I owe them money now too which is interesting. Completely dishonest handling of the situation on their part. I guess just be aware of the scammy crap they like to pull here.

Fully equipped athletic center with the newest tech for all machines and recovery. They have a large turf area with all the gear to agility train, bulk up or slim down track. Full-size basketball court, several tennis courts, pickleball courts, two pools (one therapy heated), large jacuzzi, steam sauna, cool dips, and so much more. They have a variety of exercise classes included in your membership that you can sign up for each week, no commitment. Locker rooms and showers with amenities. Super friendly, 'healthier you' focused staff. Not a bro gym. Everything is kept CLEAN! Did I mention that everything is indoors? If you can afford the monthly membership, it is worth every penny. No photo included due to strict no photography/video club rules.

I brought 2-14 year old boys to play basketball for an hour and it cost $90.00 for access!! That's crazy. Overall you can count on state-of-the-art equipment and a clean facility. The only reason I gave it a four-star is because I think guest passes are expensive and the locker room carpet flooring needs to be changed.... its kind of gross.

It is only my second day trying to swim at Rockford MVP fortunately it's a month by month pay so I'm not on the hook longer than 30 days. If you cancel you could however end up getting socked with a non refundable $100 enrollment fee. An extremely disappointing experience.
The problem is on their website Under Club Policies Indoor Aquatics MVP states: "Lap lanes are to be used by people swimming on the surface of the water in a strong, normal fashion. Circle swim in any one pool lane might be requested if all the lanes are being used at the same time."
Sadly none of that is true. Between the little kids playing and splashing in the lap pool getting my towel and belongings wet and the walkers walking in the 1-4 swim lanes and the exercisers with foam pool toys running or walking in the swim lanes there really isn't a place for the swimmers. Why the water aerobics people not being directed to the therapy pool to do those things. The swimmers are forced to share lanes or not swim at all because all the non swimmers are taking up space. Just a friendly warning if you plan on coming here to actually swim DON'T! The lap lanes are not being used in the way they were intended. There are pool attendants present but they do not monitor or enforce anything. I'm leaving this review because I wish someone would have shared the information with me before I gave them my money. You have been warned. Find somewhere different to swim

Beware, if you try to put your membership on hold or cancel they will say you only pay a one time fee but then they will continue to charge you every month and when you try to complain you canโt get anyone on the phone or email. We have gotten 8 charges and every time I see one I try to call or email and never end up getting ahold of anyone so I am just being forced to contact my credit card company and report them.

Be prepared for the pool area to turn into Great Wolf Lodge on the weekends. Kids take over all the pools, running back and forth and jumping ontop of you. I wish there were dedicated hours for family swim, so those with injuries or who swim for fitness could use the pool without being trampled by kids playing in the pool.

It's a very nice gym. It has new, clean machines. There are both modern machines and classic weightlifting stations. They also have an indoor turf area, which is very versatile, and I personally love it. There is also a basketball court, tennis/pickleball courts, and an indoor track. There are many different machines and gear; you will almost always have the right machines for your workout. Also, there is personal and group training is for several things, like weightlifting, tennis, basketball, and much more. The staff is all super friendly and helpful. Overall, 10/10, highly recommended.

I have been a member at MVP Rockford for over 10 years and for the past few they have really gone downhill. They have instituted 3 price increases in the last year, 4 over the last 2 years all with only a monthโs notice. Iโm not sure where the additional funds are going as their equipment is dilapidated, tears in most of the upholstery, they have buckets scattered around due to leaks in the roof, and the equipment is incredibly dirty. The barbells and dumbbells are literally black with dirt and the locker rooms and pools are gross as well. Half of their basketballs are flat and their court is never cleaned.Their hours are incredibly limited, closing at 6 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, 8 PM on Fridays and 9 PM Monday-Thursday. They donโt open until 7 AM on Saturdays and 8 AM on Sundays. Most gyms are and have been 24/7 so not sure why MVP canโt, at the very least, expand their hours. The leadership at the Director level is very poor and lacks any sense of customer service. Overall the price you pay for what you get doesnโt align. Highly recommend looking somewhere else.

Visited from out of town for a tennis match. The front desk check-in procedure was a cluster cluck and took way too long. No directional signs to know where courts, restrooms or locker rooms were located. Seating area for spectators did not have signage and the track users were claiming the majority of the chairs for their towels, water bottles and other random things. After seeing a $110/month price tag on a membership, I hope I donโt ever return here.

Only reason it gets 2 stars is because the employees are nice and theyโre a great hang. MVP isnโt great. We pay too much for dirty steam rooms and broken facilities. The gym area is nice and the kid room is nice too. ๐The Bones and Staff of this Athletic Club get an "A!" However, the maintenance and esthetics get a "D."๐
We are seasonal members as we travel the country much of the year in our Airstream. Having a place to exercise and stay fit is very important to us. That's what brought us to MVP.
Like I said, the "bones" of this facility are fantastic. It's big, provides lots of diverse ways to exercise, incredible classes, therapy pools of all types, large locker rooms with steam and showers. The staff, are EXCEPTIONAL! Always friendly and helpful.
The BIG deficit, is in the regular maintenance and care of the obvious repair issues that arise.
Not to mention the building is over due for a "visual revision."
One of the most frustrating problems, is with the things that break and stay broken for extended times. Just to highlight a few. The extractor in the ladies locker STAYS out of service. Half the tiles above doorway in steam are missing and have been. As an example, I arrived back at the end of October 2023. One of the sinks in the ladies room dripped water, on the floor the whole time and STILL was not repaired at the end of December.
While the ladies locker room is kept neat and tidy, it is far from really clean. Shower and steam areas are dirty and stained with mildew, rust and excessive hard water build-up. Pool surface areas are dirty and grimy. Mold all around hot tub tiles. Obviously, there is no regularly scheduled deep cleaning.
The fact that routine and simple fixes, go ignored and unresolved, is absolutely unacceptable. Especially for the high fees being charged to the members.
Regarding the "esthetics" within MVP, I personally find the color scheme quite perplexing.
In a place like West Michigan where the weather is SO gloomy and depressing a good portion of the year, WHY would you bring those awful, colors into a place that is suppose to promote energy?! It's the epitome of "50 Shades of Grey", and NOT the sexy kind. Rather unimpressive and ugly...๐คฎ
You have plenty of faithful members at this club. It's disappointing you're not as dedicated with providing a higher standard of care to your building.

Poor signage on walking track caused several new people to start walking the โwrong wayโ on the walking track. Easier to go with the 12 walking incorrect direction than the 2 walking correct direction. Manager came upstairs and was rude to the 12 walkers.

New software that is not user friendly and very confusing (hiding charges), constant employee turnover, MVP is definitely going downhill and I can no longer recommend this place. I love the MVP tennis program. Unfortunately, the Grand Rapids Pickleball Club has increasingly begun using the courts. Now several courts are crowded for open pickleball play for several hours on many days, with 8 players per court loudly whacking plastic balls with wooden racquets. I, and many fellow tennis players, find this quite annoying. To their credit, the tennis team has done their best to keep the scheduled pickleball hours separate from tennis classes.

We will be canceling our families membership. 2 weeks after joining the club updated rates and started charging for the tennis courts. Members can no longer use the courts without paying more as part of their membership. It would have been nice to have a 30-day notice of the change instead of a two-week notice. It would also have been ideal to have been told that was going to change when we joined.

Nice, clean facility. Missing some basic weight equipment like laying hamstring curls, glute machine, and captains chair (reason for not 5 stars), but overall a nice, welcoming workout facility.

We have had a membership with MVP for years now. Overall my family enjoys going although it's pricey they do have a lot to offer. I am giving three stars because recently I signed up for a program that was very disappointing. I even emailed and asked for a refund because I didn't get out of it what I was told I would get. I never heard from MVP and had to dispute the charges with my bank. MVP overall is a good gym.
Updated 3/25 Ben (fitness manager) called me after getting the bank dispute and was super nice and is taking care of me. I appreciate him talking to me and being honest. Excellent service. Thank you.
I had three stars.... but I feel he's taking care of me and I appreciate it.

For the Rockford location, I would expect the price to include a bit more. Mostly in terms of facilities rather than amenities. When I think of athletic clubs, I think of GLAC or Lifetime. And for the price you certainly pay for GLAC or Lifetime ideas but it doesn't quite hit home, at least at the Rockford spot.. A lot of equipment is fairly outdated and there are limited weight lifting machines, very few easy curl bars, and only 2 flat benches.
This facility lacks a sauna, but does have a steam room that usually smells of cleaning chemicals. Great array of free weights and two squat racks. Weights area is relatively small compared to their CrossFit astroturf area and cardio area which boasts 4 rows of steppers, stair climbers, treadmills, bikes, rowers and ellipticals. The only things missing would be a ladder climber and maybe a lateral trainer.
While the free weights area might be small, the population tends to use the cross fit area, cardio, and courts more than anything. So you rarely have to wait for a machine.
This place gives you literally everything you need to get in shape (of which I am not) but misses the mark on feeling like a "premium" athletic club. It's the little things. That said it's perfect for your fitness/health goals. The only reason this is not a 5 star rating are hours. For those looking for a late night workout - get their by 7 cause the doors close at 8. And of you're an early riser, get ready to sleep in late. Doors don't open till 5 am. Would love a 24 hr option with the dangerous stuff (pool) closed off. But alas.
