after living in monroe my entire life and this golf course being the only one i’ve ever been to, i’m left disheartened and disgusted by the behavior of the employees, and maybe even the owner. My family (4 of us) all paid for large buckets, two golf carts, and a round of 9 for all of us. Between the 4 of us we’ve at least spent $100. We do have beginners with us but figuring this is old towne in monroe michigan that wouldn’t be an issue, clearly it was an issue. We made it to the 7th hole no issues and we were already on the green finishing up, there was another family of 4 behind us that was keeping the same pace as us, since the hole we were at is longer than the one before it they caught up and had to wait around 5 mins. Since they freely allow anyone out and there’s no tee times, there was a back up. An employee, maybe the groundskeeper? pulled up on us and was screaming we need to hurry it up and WE are causing a back up completely ruining the last TWO holes for us, that we waited and paid for mind you. When we returned the golf carts the man working behind the counter then complained that we “didn’t park the golf carts correctly” and when we offered to fix this problem that seems to bother no one we were told we “lost our chance.” I don’t know if maybe you’re confused this is Augusta and Masters is held next week but you are dead wrong. This is Monroe Michigan, one way to ruin your business is to fight with the locals and that’s exactly what you guys have been doing with this new ownership. We will be finding a new golf course and I suggest others do as well because this is not a business that deserves our money.

WOW!!! What a change. The course has been returned to almost what it was when it was first opened. The greens are green, not brown, and full of weeds. The fairways are kept nice and cut regularly. I was really surprised when I returned here for a quick loosening up this year and getting back into the game after a few years off. Now, the customers need to respect the effort put into returning this course by the owners, to a very respectable and fun course. Keep up the good work !!!!

I’ve been going to old town since i was very young, i’ve never had an issue until yesterday, me and 2 of my buddy’s where minding our own business golfing not disturbing anyone or anything, until the greens keeper (or whatever you’d like to call him) came up to me and my friends on hole 5 yelling at us, accusing us of driving recklessly and what could have only been a crater on the moon sized hole on the green on hole 2 by the way this grown man was acting, now let me clarify we did neither of those things but who knows. Then he went on saying that we could leave etc etc then drove away but it didn’t stop there, as we where leaving he stared us down as we where driving out and actually got out of his chair acting like a tough guy which is totally unprofessional, which obviously he has no idea what that is considering the state of the course. I’d understand why he’d be upset if we where actually doing what he accused us of doing or if it was an actual nice course but it isn’t, patchy/dead grass everywhere, dead greens, and the tee boxes are a war zone, maybe if he he’d focus a little more on doing his job we’d come back but until then, not gonna happen.

The guy at the desk was cool though, shoutout to him

They’re updating it! I would give it a 5 if it wasn’t for the price at the time of updating it, i get it takes money to make improvements tho! $17 a person is a little steep for a 2 par course. Theres plenty to do here tho! Super cute course for a family or couple who just wants to have fun. There’s putt-putt, batting cages, driving course, 2/3 par course and (i think an ice cream place?). The bathrooms are nice, definitely a bonus for me! It would be great for a kids birthday, someone working on their woods or people not too involved in golfing. cute place!!!

Would be 5 stars for a quaint little 9 hole par 3, however the grounds keeper needs to learn to control his temper. He called the cops on a couple teenagers because they drove on a portion of a green. His outburst of profanity could be heard on the otherside of the property. It isn't a PGA course, sir. You charge $16 to play on a par 3, grow up.

Tonight was the last time I will ever golf or support old town. It’s been one of my go to courses for value and practice until tonight. A small summary about tonight was that we had 3 golfers and a rider as we played the whole course everything was great until the last hole where we were verbally abused by a guy who claimed he was “the owner” he proceeded to walk towards us as he was getting heated about us parking on what he thought was the t box when we were clearly 15-20 feet away from the blue markers. We all have golfed higher quality courses and know the rules. What we golfed was a glorified par 3 putt putt course and was treated like it was Augusta. After him and his groups of friends were done and he showed off being “cool” he hid from us until we got into the truck and left. Needless to say I will no longer support or golf this course again. I feel terrible for that because minus him the rest of the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Not to mention as another small bit of info is that when you are on hole 7 and 9 watch for flying range balls as the nets are gone between those holes making it very dangerous for left handed golfers.

Great place! Went 2 days in a row to play 9 holes and they were so kind and helpful. It was wet so the golf carts weren’t running but because we had my 78 year old mother in law they were going to allow her to drive one. Very welcoming and great for anyone including families.

This has been my goto place since starting my golf journey. I am very new to golfing, and Old Town is just a few minutes down the road. Everyone that works there is very friendly and it not being a big, busy country club makes it feel much less nerve racking as a beginner. They did recently bump up the prices for each size bucket by a dollar, but they also got all new TaylorMade balls for the range when they did this. The putt putt course isn't anything spectacular, but for the price the 18 holes are perfect to distract my 3 year old while my wife and I take turns on the range. The 9 hole par 3 course is a great value, and in great shape, especially for how inexpensive it is. It's also very approachable for novice golfers - it's nice walking up to the tee box and seeing the flag just 150 yds or so away. It's also great practice for your short game I imagine for seasoned golfers as well. I was told a new owner took it over within the last year or two and has been working hard to revamp it, and I've got to say they're doing a great job! I'm up there 2 or 3 times a week! I haven't used the batting cages so I can't speak on them.
Tl;dr - Old Town is great for the range, putt putt, and 9 hole par 3 course! Very affordable and fun!

So happy to see the improvements! The greens are in really good shape. If you've been here in the last few years, you remember how bad it got. Three options for tees, fairways are shaped and tee boxes are good. Way to go new owner!!

We were looking for a short course to play and decided to give this one a try. I am a beginner golfer and I am always overwhelmed rolling up to a tee box and seeing 425y. You always feel like you need to crush your swing to get some good distance, and always, it slices off somewhere because of that.

Well if that's you, then this par3 9hole course is just of you. Its was so refreshing to see all the holes under 150y. It allowed me to pull out a club I would normally not tee off, and use it to play almost my entire game with. I was able to take some nice slow controlled swings and get almost on the green every time.

The course is nice. The tee boxes are not tore up, fairways are green and groomed and the greens are mostly in great shape. I say mostly, because they admit a few are not getting watered enough and they were working on all that today.

The other thing we liked, we were the only ones playing. Honestly, I've never seen a lot of people playing so this allowed us to not feel rushed and take our time.

$15 w/cart wasn't a bad deal. I highly recommend giving this hidden gem a try. This course also has a nice hidden feature, if you're a Verizon Wireless user, there is no cell signal, so you can't be distracted with always checking your phone! LOL

Under the new owners you can really see some improvements in the course, it’s not going to be an overnight change but they are definitely getting there. It’s $5 golf, you really can’t beat it. Don’t go if you’re looking to have a PGA level game, but it’s a very nice place to go hang out. Driving range, mini golf, and batting cages.

Range grass needs some work, pretty much hitting out of bad rough. Range Yardage is off by 5-10 yards. Would be better if they could move the yardage markers to be accurate for both sides. No point of practicing if you can't tune in to exact yards. Look forward to the improvements with the new owners.

Staff is very friendly good driving range and at $5 for lg bucket great price. Par 3 course is a bit rough but is exceptional value $8 with cart for seniors. If course was a little better would be 5 star but a lot of new golfers tend to create a lot of maintenance need. Highly recommend for the budget minded. Especially new golfers
