This is a great place to practice Karate. The instructors are wonderful and very professional. My daughter has been attending for over a year now and she has really been able to improve her self esteem and realize her self worth. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone interested in learning this art.

Our boys have been part of the Holt Dojo Family for the past 9 1/2 years! The confidence, determination, discipline, skill set and support that our boys have learned, have helped them in ways we could have never imagined. The Dojo's billing and enrollment system is straightforward and easy to use. The written materials, and online videos, that are available for study are very helpful. It gives parents/grandparents a great insight into what the kids are working on. I like the video camera of the classroom so you can monitor your students progress if you choose to. Sensei and Senpai are very accessible outside of class if you have questions. The weekly Dojo updates are very easy to follow. Ordering optional apparel was very easy to do as well.

My Grandson is 7 but very small for his age. He loves his classes and practices without coaxing. His instructors take the time to make sure he understands the material. He never seems intimidated by the practices. He's always excited to go to karate. The staff are very supportive of his efforts. Senpai Danny is awesome with the kids!

I especially appreciate that the instructors work on the respect and responsibility aspects of the discipline as well. When my Grandson was first starting he tried some karate moves on his brother. We tried to get him to stop but it wasn't 100% effective. We required my Grandson to tell Sensei what he had been doing. He was mortified so it was apparent he respected Sensei. Sensei Mark took the time to firmly explain to him why he shouldn't do that and that karate is for defense only. He told my Grandson that if he couldn't refrain from using karate, other than for defense, that he could not be in the classes. He asked my Grandson if he understood. My Grandson hasn't used his karate inappropriately since then.

The Holt Dojo has been such an amazing experience for my kids. They have the support they need to constantly strive for more, while working at their own pace. They have more confidence and discipline than ever. Sensei Mark is amazing with kids, and greets every kid with a warm smile as they enter the dojo. Senpai Danny clearly explains everything, and makes sure the kids understand before moving forward. The energy Mark and Danny bring create a fun and positive atmosphere. I honestly can’t express in words how much I love this program. Sensei and Senpai are so much more than Karate instructors. They are caring, loving amazing influences in these kids lives. They teach the importance of hard work but also mix it with fun, activities and athleticism. My daughter had gained self confidence, learned how to work together, learned how to not give up, how to defend herself but most important she has learned the importance of community and all that can be accomplished when you are a part of one.

My son has been a student for almost two years- he enjoys the variety of class activities, loves the encouraging staff and enjoys the opportunity to move up in the ranks. He is looking forward to becoming a junior instructor when he is old enough.

As a parent I love the family atmosphere, flexible scheduling, and the amount of organization that goes into each event. I appreciate that Sensei Mark and Senpai Danny take an interest in their students and remember details of their lives.

Sensei Mark and Senpai Danny are amazing and we are so grateful that we are part of the Dojo family! They make karate FUN and engaging and our 11 yo daughter LOVES it! Even during the height of Covid 19, they kept the classes going by switching to Zoom classes and then to the park and never missed a beat! My daughter went through some health issues, and both Sensei and Senpai are always so understanding and encouraging and always ready to help any way they can! With everything that was going on, with the pandemic, they always followed and continue to follow current protocols to keep everyone safe and their weekly detailed communication to parents is superb! If you are looking for a safe, confidence building and fun place for kids (or adults) to learn great skills, Holt Dojo is it!!! Highly recommend it!

My son has only been attending classes for a few weeks but so far I give this place a 10 out of 10. Their customer service is great, they really care about their classes, students, and community. They have been going above and beyond to keep everyone safe and healthy during the pandemic. I can't speak to the specifics of the trade - as my only experience with Karate is from the Movies, but I'm extremely satisfied with what my son is learning!

I have been doing karate for 5 years and I have never regretted even a second of it. Unfortunately I had to leave due to college but everyone is very nice. Kids classes are set up right after school ends and the adult classes are set up at noon and at night so that virtually anyone can participate. The summer camps and holiday camps are absolute blasts to participate in. The instructors are amazing and understanding and some of the best people I have ever met. The dojo is a family that I am glad to have been part of and I would love to come back in the future. If I could, I would give this place even more stars but 5 will have to suffice.

This is a wonderful learning environment for my kids! Everything is positive and well run. The instructors want to see everyone succeed and are great with their students. This is a fantastic place. Both my grade-school-age kids go here. The karate instruction is first-rate; Sensei Mark McCloud and his instructors are the real deal. If you're looking for the opportunity for yourself or your kids to achieve true excellence (which is rare), look no farther. They're also great if your goal is just to learn some karate, get some exercise and have fun. The dojo is a great, supportive environment for kids (and adults) of all ages and abilities, and the instructors emphasize and reinforce the development of good character, such as treating others with respect, doing homework and chores, etc., which is an important part of true, traditional martial art instruction. The dojo instructors maintain class discipline well, gently but firmly. This is not the case in all dojos... but it's important for the kids to learn karate properly. The dojo also has lots of kid-friendly events, like kids' nights and day camps, where kids get to learn karate and play (and watch a movie and eat pizza, on kids' nights) in a fun and safe environment. We are so fortunate to have this dojo near us. I recommend this dojo in the highest terms.

We (my 2 kids and me) just started here about a month ago. So far my kids and I love it. Sensei (Mark) is wonderful and the program for the kids really instills positive discipline. For me, as an adult, oh wow...I am sore. ;-) But I am sure I will get past that and reap the benefits--it is quite a workout.
