Overall good, but a few major issues. LOTS of people camping out on machines scrolling in their phones doing maybe 1 rep and not wiping down equipment, even after signs were put up saying not to sit and scroll. If you go in the afternoon, the sun is shining through the windows directly into staff eyes and covers much of the equipment making it basically un-usable. A simple shade cloth can fix this. It must be HORRIBLE to the staff every afternoon. Please get this place a shade cloth!

I’ve been a loyal Planet Fitness member since 2015, but unfortunately, the quality of this gym has declined significantly since Austin took over as manager. The cleanliness and maintenance have gone downhill — the tanning beds, massage chairs, and even the rooms often appear dirty, wet, or sticky. It’s reached the point where I’m considering reporting these conditions to the health department. I’m genuinely concerned about what kind of bodily fluids or residue might be left behind, as even the equipment, floors, trash bins, and walls frequently appear unclean.

I’ve tried several times to address these concerns. I called the gym on three different occasions to speak directly with Austin, but the phone was always handed to a female assistant manager who was unpleasant and unprofessional. During one of these calls, the assistant manager took down my name and number to have Austin’s manager, Emily, call me back. However, Emily also never returned my call.

It’s disappointing, because I truly tried to provide constructive feedback and help improve the gym, but the lack of accountability and communication from both Austin and his leadership is unacceptable.

After nearly a decade as a member, I finally decided to leave. Manager approached me 3 minutes into a work out to tell me she thought my shirt was inappropriate. I didn’t even think about it when I put it on but I understood the rules . She on the other hand was very rude , I explained that if it wasn’t a problem today anyways she could have let me know as I was leaving as to not single me out in the middle of a workout room as if I’m purposely doing something to be harmful etc.

One yr update... previously 5 stars but since the other manger is gone things have kinda gone downhill. Not sure what happened but it's definitely not as clean as it used to be and sometimes machines are down for a long time. Certain machines could use a duplicate because they're so popular. The tanning rooms have become very dirty. Hair all over the bottom of the stand ups and floors. I saw the same splatter of tanning lotion on the wall for 2 months. I did cancel my membership because certain life situations took too much of my time up. I've returned this month (8 months later) it's not any cleaner in the tanning rooms but there's more equipment now. I haven't had to wait for a machine.

I was scared to death to go to the gym, I was 320 pounds and knew I had to do something about it, but didn't want to do it in public. I asked a friend of mine about their experience here and they said it was a great place to start. So I put aside my fears and just started going. Started slow on the treadmill and eventually started building on it. I've been going for 8 months and I'm down to 260 pounds and I love my time at the gym now, I don't like days that I miss and I know most of it is because of the people. The staff here is incredibly friendly and very kind and helpful. I usually go really early in the morning and see Jason and Jonathan who always start the day with some good conversation, and when Miranda gets there in the morning she gets the place moving. When I go in the afternoon it can be super busy but Marcus, Jacob, Christian, Travis, Jake, and Jamarco are always killing it getting people in, signed up, and organized for tanning and massages. And Taylor, Amilya, and Athena kill it on the weekends as well. They are always friendly and always making sure the whole club is taken care of, clean, and restocked. I love this place, it's my second home now. And for the first time in my life I feel like I can hit my weight goals and get healthy because I have a place to do it that supports me and makes it easy. Thank you, guys!

Worst customer service I have ever had. You go online to get help it has you put in your information to pick a club, has you fill out a form only to be be answered by someone telling you to contact your home club, then when I reply I did they replied this email is not monitored which is obviously a lie because they responded within seconds about how they couldn't/wouldn't help me.

This place is great! I think atleast 50% of the reason I come here is because of the staff and management. I feel a genuine welcome everytime I show up, and I show up alot. Whenever I leave I am always greeted as well by everyone. I also like how the staff also work out there as "normal" people too. Its a very good experience. The only thing that is torturous is the savory smells of popcorn from the adjacent theatre! But hey its motivating! I like it. I would like to work there one day, i just dont feel I am fit enough to represent the cause. But I will say when I started a few months back i have lost 35+pounds + good nutrion. I went to the Bay City PF on 7/21 a little after 10 a.m. for the first time excited to start my exercise journey. When I approached the desk the blonde girl at the counter scanned my phone but did not even say hello to me let alone say Welcome to PF. I had some questions but after scanning my phone she quickly turned her back on me and walked away. It is intimidating enough for someone in their 60's like me to join a gym and to be treated like this was very hurtful. I am so upset I don't know if I will go back. PF I think needs to train their employees better on how to treat people.

My husband has a Silver Sneakers membership and I have a standard in Florida. We wanted to workout 1 time at this location and they wanted a $20 upcharge for each of us or upgrade our membership. My husband has visited many Planet Fitness in his travels and never had an issue. I have not paid extra in other locations for 1 time use but would have understood $10 upcharge. Response to owner: I've already done that and received the answers I gave or "we can't do that" (in response to encouraging people not to hog the equipment). I posted here so PF corporate or you, the owner, would see it as well and that limiting what staff can do causes issues.

Overall a great gym/atmosphere with good staff, but a couple areas of improvement are needed.

1. Need more "totalbody" machine (red light and shakes). They only have one and literally every time I've entered this week, someone has beat me by 3 seconds to sign in (I go to it as soon as they finish scanning me in) and I end up waiting 15-25 minutes. I usually only come for half an hour so this is a big peeve of mine. The staff also allows people up to at least 8 extra minutes after it finishes to get dressed so it slows it down even more. I waited over 20 minutes for a lady on max which has a 12 min session and 3 min cool down (15 min total.) The cool down doesn't do anything-the machine is off. She spent another 6 min on top of that and staff just let her even after they made comments about it being long. That's inconsiderate, especially with multiple people waiting. Install a timer if needs be or just get more machines. I'm writing this as the only person in one of 4 hydromassages that just passed many empty tanning beds.
2. The relaxation pod has a glass door that allows ALL the outside noise in from the little chat lounge outside of it. Hard to relax. I mentioned this to staff and they said Saginaw has the same problem. Well, why doesn't PF fix this and just give it a private door like the rest of them?

Otherwise, still a great membership for the price. Just hope they'll improve upon these things as that totalbodyworkout really helps my plantar fascitis

A lot of the customers ruin the experience by being self centered and not caring for the rules, and the employees do nothing to make sure the rules are enforced. People will loudly have conversations on the treadmill and in the weights area. Trying to get a 30 minute express workout is a joke as people don't seem to understand the concept (and again no one who works there seems to care) and instead they use the machine to get in their 3 reps. Children (teens) are left unattended and screwing around in that area. The employees do make sure to keep this place pretty clean and the equipment in good shape, however, so I give them credit for that.

I was asked leave a gym because I had an accident and ended up a paraplegic in a wheelchair. I was told gyms did NOT expect wheelchairs.
For 4 years I have not visited a gym or worked out. Then I found planet fitness!!
They were thrilled to have me wheelchair ♿️ service dog 🐕‍🦺 and all! They excepted me, treated me like family.
At my last visit I had a seizure. I have a seizure disorder so they happen. They staff was amazing! The lead manager Jeane stayed with me during my seizure. Helped me back into me chair. She sat with me tell the paramedics came to make sure I was OK. She held me hand and hand talked to me, she was sweet calm and kind.
Jeane even helped to the locker room to get my things once the medics released me.
I could go on and on about all the things they have done for me. Fixing accounts troubles, helping me equipment, getting me a special chair for the shower. They are amazing.
It's not just me they treat like this. They great everyone who comes in by name. They make rounds checking on guests. The staff walks around check-in on everyone. They are friendly and kind.
I would recommend planet fitness to anyone!!!

I pay for the black card because I really only go there for the massage chairs. I ask for 4 coins, without issue, because I have muscular issues and these chairs are better than others. The last 2 times I was only allowed 3 coins. The first time they said it was because of how busy it was which was understandable. The 2nd time they said now the max they can give out is 3. We drove down to Bay City Planet Fitness from Alpina a 2 hours 30 min drive.

We drove that far because our heat went out and wouldn’t be fixed for 3 days, meaning no showers in single digit weather.

About half way through the workout we were informed that the Planet fitness was closing so we were rushed to finish our workout.

It was after 7pm and my girlfriend told me she hadn’t taken a shower because she was nervous about being kicked out.

I went back in to explain that we drove 2 hrs and 30 min to work out there and more importantly get a shower and my girlfriend was sweaty and would not be able to take a shower until the heat got fixed in 3 days, it didn’t matter to the staff and they said we couldn’t take a shower because they were closing.

I rely on Planet Fitness for exercise and showers, I wont be making that mistake again. The whole interaction was humiliating to myself and my girlfriend, anxiety inducing for my girlfriend, and a complete let down for a company I had come to trust in a time where trust is hard to earn.

It's a great place to workout, Free Personal trainer with the black card. working with a personal trainer is great for self of Steam and keeping track of your workouts. A good personal trainer will always uses positive reinforcement as they do there. Massage bed is nice after a work out, and you can tan if wanted to get that vitamin D. working out is a great way to change your physiology and release some endorphins to improve your mood after being cramped up in the office or house for long hours. It's also a awesome way to start each day knowing you accomplish something first thing in the morning, to set the pace for the rest of the day .

Called to cancel my account, two weeks later I'm being charged for a new month. I called again, whoever "canceled" my account canceled my old account not the current one. Staff never seem like they want to be there. I get it's work, but I clean a gas station for a living. I'd much rather clean a gym.
