Tried this location out of convenience and the equipment was so old it felt dangerous. All the tension curves felt so off like I was going to injure myself. The smith machines are the terrible vertical version that feels totally unnatural. Also there are only a few mirrors here. I need to visualize myself to ensure I am in proper form. Obviously Planet Fitness isn’t the place to go if you are actually interested in weight lifting. But usually they’re serviceable. (Plymouth, Livonia, Northville) However, this one felt like a total hotel complimentary gym. I know this location has to be pretty profitable. Please invest more into the mirrors, lighting, and strength equipment.

I’ve been a member for years and have always had positive experiences with the staff everyone’s usually friendly and professional. I don’t come to this Planet Fitness often since I have other gym memberships, but today’s visit was extremely disappointing. The blonde woman at the front desk (I believe she might be the assistant manager) was not only rude, but also loudly discussed my business in front of other customers, which felt completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I was honestly stunned by how she handled it. That kind of behavior makes me uncomfortable and has pushed me to cancel my membership. It’s a shame, because the rest of the staff has always been great. The gym was truly better with her not around, I hope she changes her ways.

Long overdue to write this review, I have been a member at this location for a little over two years and have worked out at various gyms in the area – I cannot say enough positive things about the staff at this location. They are friendly, kind, hard-working, and overall just amazing people. They keep the facility clean at all times and do their best to appropriately manage other members who do not respect the space and the clearly written rules. It will be impossible to name them all, but Doug, Angel, Chris, Jake, Kevin and many more are truly amazing people and keep me coming back. As a black card member, I have been to locations all over the state and across the country – not a single one compares to my experience here in Canton. I attribute every bit of this positivity to the incredible staff. Thank you all for being the best!

The assistant manager Angel has zero customer service . She called me to let me know that I am not allowed to sign up for classes on the app again as I did not attend several classes before. I was on my way go in person so I said let’s talk in person so I can understand the problem. The moment I stepped in the gym to talk to her :
1- She became loud with her tone and attitude, saying I cannot sign anymore for classes in the app
2- She also did not listen to my point (which is I’m ok with not signing up but she will need to gurantee that if I come before the class as she wants me to do I will have a spot in the class)
3- I even confronted her saying” ok I might have signed for classes and did not show up or smth happen but I sincerely don’t know how cancel classes !! “
4- In addition, I asked how many times is “several “

Omg !! Her attitude was way out of place ! Not listening to anything and just raising her voice !

Thanks god the manager was there …. The moment I talked to him about what she is telling me and how she said she will drop me out of class if I signed for class on the app , and she wants me to come in person before the class however she cannot gurantee that if I show up in person I will have spot ! And how basically it feels like she is preventing me from taking any classes since there is no gurantee ! And the worst is that no one ever warned me before about any of this it’s all out of the blue !

He was nice and not loud at all like her and he explained the situation and understood my point ! I even showed him that on the app I cannot cancel the classes and he said that something is wrong with my app .
The whole problem was solved in 10 mins !

I don’t understand how a person is hired as an assistant manger has such an attitude and loud tone ! Zero customer service I wish I never have to deal with her ever again ! She causes stress for nth

Angel at the front desk has zero customer service skills. Likes to make situations embarrassing unnecessarily to customers very loudly. No one needed to know that my annual membership didn't go through because I changed checking accounts. And goodness did she make it known loudly with other customers around. The app said I could work out but Angel was having none of that. Maybe she likes to bully people in her personal life but professionally maybe she should find a career that isn't customer facing. Thank goodness there are thousands of other gyms I can go to because I will never set foot in Canton MI Planet Fitness again.

Stopped here for a quick workout in between appointments. There’s trash all over the walkways in front. I had to park 3 businesses away because they don’t have enough spots. I canceled my membership cause I never used it and the lady even said it was canceled. Now they are telling that i owe 10 dollars and that it will be canceled next month. Even though the lady in the club said I won’t be charge and it was effective today. Planet fitness you all owe me my 10 dollars back. Amazing you charge my closed card 100 times and my bank approves the charge. And the harassment by telephone. From their company is even more ridiculous.

Stay away from this gym. Billing practices are all lies.

Most of the staff is not very friendly at all. Had a male staff member come into men's locker room to announce that a female was coming in to inspect a locker. What?! And now I hear they are allowing men identifying as a female in the women's lockers. Really? With kids under the age of 18?

Been going here a few times a week for a month or so now, yesterday when I went tanning before I left, I forgot a very important/meaningful item, I was actually terrified I would never see it again. I called and talked with Jalen at the front desk, who looked for it and thankfully ended up finding it and holding onto it until I could get there for it. I do not recommend this planet fitness location. The manager Doug is very unhelpful and could not care less about customer service. I accidentally joined the wrong gym and tried to cancel three days later- he made me pay $10 and also made me drive an hour to the club to cancel. He would not transfer my contract.

Sure the contract said certain things but there is also just customer service. I do not recommend this planet fitness.

Also the parking lot is crowded and it was hard to park close.

The Westland planet fitness said they apologized for the inconvenience and did not understand why he would not transfer it. The Westland location said they would give me a month for free due to the inconvenience by Doug and the Canton location.

Note: Doug the manager will reference the contract but I’m sure no where in the contract does it say Westland had to give me a month for free for his inconvenience. Just different customer service

Most of the time it's way too busy. Staff is sometimes not pleasant. The sinks are automatic so it makes it hard to shave and brush your teeth. If you're a member of a different planet, you have to sign a paper each time you want to use the club which is a hassle. Compared to other clubs in the vicinity this one is the newest, but also the worst in my opinion. Only rating 2 stars because the black card area is nice and peaceful, however I think it's crazy that you can only get 10 minute increments in their massage chairs.

Above average planet fitness. All weight and equipment needed for a daily workout is contained-and you don't even have to wait long for a bench. The staff is incredibly friendly with Hellos and Goodbyes nearly every time I came. Whether you are going to go hard or just taking a cardio day, this is a great gym to go to.

Terrible service, terrible employees, horrible manager. One of the employees (Jordan) cursed at me and started yelling at me with anger. This all started because the manager wanted to look at my personal phone to see if the email I wrote down on the sign-in sheet was correct. What????? you want to see my personal email and confirm it??? This is a joke and very unprofessional I have a video recording of the whole incident how Jordan cursed at me and how both were yelling at me and threatening to call the police because they thought I wrote my email wrong. Do not give them any business and they both should be fired and looked into

This center is large and loaded with equipment. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Great place to workout at a reasonable price. Most everyone is courteous about wiping equipment. Equipment is well maintained. The place is quite new and presents itself well. Cleanliness is slipping in the stretching area (we are on the floor so you can see the grit) and bathrooms, where corners and areas along walls are unattended. More attention is needed to detail. For this reason it is 4 stars rather than 5. Update: the manager normally responds to these reviews with a suggestion to speak with the manager. I have. It’s a new PF. They still offer 24/7 fitness… most of them have limited hours. The staff is friendly and the facility clean. Be sure to put locks on your lockers. I overheard a guy complaining that someone stole from his locker. But there is nothing anyone can do. It’s a great place to go for fitness that won’t cost an arm and a leg.

This high school summer workout program has made working out impossible. The gym already has super limited free weights and cables and now that entire section of the gym is packed with 50 teenagers doing nothing constantly. I finished at 1am and it was still crowded.

If your gym already has crowding issues, maybe don't allow children for free. Don't respond with that crowd meter bs. If they wanted to use your 300 cardio machines then it would be fine but no they want hang out around your 4 benches and 2 cable machines.

Very Racist. I walked in watch people that wasn’t the color of my skin. Scan and walk right in to workout. Once I did the same after standing there and no one approached me or called me up. This PF location is always packed and their new high school summer incentive means that the gym is crawling with gaggles of students all hours of the day. They take up tons of time on machines and fill the place up. Makes working out very inefficent and takes all the fun out of it.

The Canton Planet Fitness Center should be avoided. They do not have the same level of workout equipment as the nearby Wayne and Plymouth locations. Their Black Card Spa area is also less desirable than the nearby Wayne and Plymouth locations. They don't even provide coat/jacket racks in the Massage Chair area and No One at the main desk has any understanding of how to operate the Red Light Vertical Body Massage Room. Several of the Staff Members at the main desk are quite rude and not helpful in the least. The layout of the equipment at this facility is not nearly as well thought out as was done for the Wayne and Plymouth facilities. I would recommend thinking twice before choosing Canton as your "Home Based" Planet Fitness Facility....yikes!

First time visiting this location, very dirty only 1 employee working that I can tell on a Sunday morning around 3 AM, that employee sitting down while the gym is disgustingly dirty, the floors are nasty in Lockerroom and out on the floor. I was told I needed shoes that cover your toes upon sign up. I wore my Ugg minis and was told they have a higher chance of making me slip so I can’t wear them.
These are ICE boots. They have more thread and are less likely to make u slip than sneakers. Also they cover my toes and more of my feet.

I don’t like when different employees have unaligned stories. I wouldn’t have signed up if I thought they’d hassle me
