As a black member had the opportunity to use this location while in the area. I wish my PF was like this one. I was shocked at the barbell stations and the greater choice of weighted machines vs cabled. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the men’s lockerroom showers were a little rough but not bad. I hope this gym is a pilot for PF’s future.

Location is great, clean, friendly staff. The machine sitters are out of control. I complete three sets while people are sitting on their machine playing with their phone, not moving a muscle. Have some manners. Waiting for a machine, while the person on the machine isn’t actually doing anything, is frustrating. Go home if you’re just gonna sit there.

Ive been going to this location since 11 mile and schoenherr location is closed. Josh (from the 11 mile) is the absolute best! I usually work out at the Sterling Heights location, but I recently visited the Clinton Township Planet Fitness and was greeted by Josh at the front desk and wow, what a great first impression! Josh was super friendly, professional and had a cool, calm energy about him that made the whole experience feel really welcoming. He’s got a presence that’s hard to miss (lowkey gives off vampire vibes - in the best way possible 😅🧛).
It’s clear he takes pride in what he does and genuinely cares about the members. Planet Fitness is lucky to have him on the team!

Josh is very unprofessional he used racist slurs and curse words towards me and my special guest i invited in to join me with my black card membership he was harassing me the entire time i came in the door and got upset with me because I didn’t let him get under my skin with the things that he was saying he was looking for a negative reaction but I didn’t give him that he also signed my signature as in i am the one who filled out paperwork but I didn’t he did

Anyone else dealt with rude and unprofessional staff at this particular location? Had an encounter with a very rude staff member today regarding my small sling bag. I've been a member for several years and within the last three years I've started bringing a small sling bag to carry my important personal effects on my person, i.e. wallet, alternate phone, keys etc. There's never been an issue with me bringing said bag onto the floor during my workouts but today I was stopped and told I couldn't bring it with me, not only that but the staff member got very stern with me as if I had antagonized him (I had not). I'm just curious had anyone else ran into any similar scenarios at this location. I'd suggest more clear sign postings or reminders of this policy as well as constancy in enforcement because I'd been here with the same bag two days ago with no issue about me bringing it onto the floor with me.

I travel a lot for work and just the amount of gyms available is a huge selling point.

Black card gets you a guest pass, so you can work out with friends.

Not all gyms are equipped 100% the same but all have more than the basics available to train. I don't mind this as it brings some variety when traveling.

I currently have a membership here. However I am really considering cancelling. The employees that work the morning shift are very rude and unwelcoming. When I come in they tend to stare without any greeting whatsoever. Which makes me very uncomfortable. There are two in particular that have this issue. Not the entire staff. The amenities are exceptional. The red light therapy effectively aids muscle recovery post-workout, and the tanning beds provide both muscle warming and relaxation. The massage services are also outstanding, and the staff consistently demonstrates attentiveness. The rating of 4 out of 5 stars reflects the need for improved maintenance of the hand sanitizer dispensers and the water filtration system. The consistently empty hand sanitizer and the unfiltered water from the drinking fountain, indicated by the un-illuminated filter light, necessitate bringing multiple water bottles and frequent locker trips for refills. As a significant consumer of water, I readily detect the taste of unfiltered tap water.

I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anybody AT ALL. When it’s time to cancel they give you 112 issues. They tell you that you can’t cancel “over the phone” after lying about it being cancelling your membership “over the phone” and the membership prices are a lie they tell you it’s $15 a month but charge you $25 a month on top of a annual fee of $49 dollars that isn’t even annual more like bi-weekly. Technically they steal your money and make you the issue. Staff here is young, illiterate, disrespectful and unprofessional.

I hadn't used planet fitness on Gratiot since they first opened and recently decided to give this gym another try on September 30th 2024. I of course received the $1 deposit special at $15 per month. The guy that helped me at the desk was nice and pleasant at first. However, the entire process to join became ridiculously long and frustrating. After paying my deposit and signing the agreement, the guy helping me immediately changed his impression. I started having constant issues with the app which required multiple verifications ontop of a photo picture that was taken without my permission or any explanation. The entire process literally took 30 minutes. The guy slightly mentioned the annual fee during the process but no due date. On November 1st after only 30 days of joining I was charged an annual fee of $49. Most annual fees are typically charged within 12 months, and this was the SCAM for me. They charge you $1 to join and then you are immediately charged $49 so its actually a $50 deposit up front including the monthly fee, so within 30 days I was charged $65. I called the gym and politely asked to speak with the manager. The girl named Tiffany stated she was the manager and when I stated it was regarding a unauthorized charge on my account she immediately became harsh in her tone cutting me off when speaking. I was taken back by her tone and politely asked if she would use a more professional tone. She refused to hear me out and got angry and more aggressive hanging up on me. I was very upset at the treatment I received and went to speak to someone in person about the charge on my account. When I got to the desk and tried explaining the same guy who assisted me earlier told me he was the manager and Tiffany was only the assistant manager. Apparently there's a power struggle. The manager or guy named (Darrius) was immediately rude telling me to calm down like I was the problem. He never called this to the attention of his assistant manager in my presence. I canceled my membership and was given a so called number to ABC financial for billing who never answers the phone. I really hoped that there was improvements over the years with Planet Fitness But I was wrong. The staff is unprofessional and childish at this location. They have no respect or regards for customers. It's like they think you need them and not the other way around. Never again! After what I spend and experience having a home gym is better. Oh and please spare me with the robot response don't care to hear it!

Nice staff that always greets you and says goodbye when you’re leaving. It’s a really big gym.. never have to wait to use equipment during the time of day that I use the gym.. mid afternoon. There’s plenty of lockers. The gym in Clinton Twp. is super clean and there’s lots of cleaning stations that make it easy to wipe the equipment after use… most people are good about doing it too!

(Derrick) rude and aggressive working behind the counter this morning. This morning I was working out on a bench infront of the window when he decided to approach me and tell me I have to move the bench because there was not enough room where the bench was.( this bench is here literally everyday at the end of all the benches) Derrick threatens to call the cops because I asked him if I was not allowed to work out at the end of benches infront of the mirror. Derrick told me he would call the cops and I had to leave the gym right now. I went to leave and he then followed me into the locker room continuously making rude comments to me. I waited for police and made report. While talking to police there just so happen to be a women 30 minutes later working out on the exact bench I was confronted about, that was still not moved. This bench was never in the way nor was it in an area where they should not be. I have NEVER EVER had a planet fitness staff get in my face before no have I ever had a problem at any location before. Note, I got to the gym everyday and skip days here and there. Been comming here for a couple years. Derrick is rude and beyond aggressive! I HAVE NEVER FELT SO UNCOMFORTABLE AT A PLANET FITNESS.
