Love this gym. It's always clean and well-maintained, the staff is always lovely, and the atmosphere in the morning is always so friendly and welcoming.

The only complaint I have is that the lady that claps on the treadmill every morning loud enough to hear through noise cancellation doesn't get reprimanded. The clapping is just as bad if not worse than having music playing on speaker, which is not allowed.

I paid for the black card membership and went in today to bring a special guest who already previously came with me last time denied access to the gym because he didn’t have his ID with him but he was already in the system even since last year when he didn’t the summer program. We came all this way just to get turned away by the assistant manger with no hair, she had a nasty attitude and was not willing to compromise or find us a solution. Not everyone takes pictures of their identification . I just got off the phone with another planet fitness in oak park and they said we could come no problem and they already seen my plus one in the system and no ID needed for when we both come. So im basically being told lied and now I have to waste gas and time just to work out and be healthy , do not go here!!

I love the gym but their spray bottles DO NOT disinfect anything because I constantly catch ringworm from all of their gyms at different locations. I literally spray the equipment before and after I use them and I still end up catching ringworm the very next day, when I’ve been nowhere but the gym & home. As a grown woman I haven’t seen ringworm since I was a young girl so it’s very disgusting seeing that at 40 years old. I asked a worker about the ingredients in their spray bottles,and she replied “well it will kill Covid germs”. I really hope they update their disinfectant to sanitize, killing all types of germs and bacteria.

What a horrible experience. Because of what I do I'm in different cities all the time and I've always enjoyed having a planet fitness where I could jump in for a quick workout or a massage. I have never had such a negative experience. I would highly recommend not putting miserable people up front. After reading reviews I see I'm not the only person that's had an negative experience with the dyed blonde short haired gal, she is nasty to deal with, and when I did walk back to use the hydro massage she cut time down on it. I was only in there for 7 minutes and then I just walked out.

I really like this gym, it's cheap and pretty clean. People are nice here, friendly but not too friendly where they're all up in your business.

I go to the gym once a week at least. The staff is always very helpful. I've yet to find an out of service piece of equipment which has been a problem at other gyms I've gone to, and there is no time limit for anything. I only wish they had normal hours. Glad they're expanding the hours at least.

DAYSHIFT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GARBAGE
I think overall Planet Fitness Customer Service is “Stellar” but at other locations. I've came back to Planet Fitness from Crunch Gym because of the convenient locations and overall service. However the shift between 5am and early afternoon have been extremely nasty to Me in front of my Wife and I don't understand. Everytime I come in there, I speak (like people should when being spoken to) they don't speak back. There are two Ladies in particular, one with short hair and glasses very nasty to me, which is the reason I go to other locations. Customer Service is Customer Service to WHOMEVER! You Can’t be selective in this business when dealing with consumers. I give a BIG thumbs 👎🏾 to this location ( Day shift.) Maybe its better in the evening but I stop going there….

Rusty, imbalanced, unpredictable, leggy machines.
They don't even do servicing on them.
Cables gets stuck sometimes. Bench press, leg machines are tight on one side & loose on other side.
Back workout machines are out of order.

Nice, CLEAN, easy gym. The recently got all new cardio equipment which was a nice upgrade. The staff is friendly and I enjoy working out here. It is smaller than most PFs and doesn’t have tanning (due to Detroit City Law) but it’s great for locals as a close, never too busy gym option.

An update is long overdue. This place updated a lot of their equipment, and they maintain it. Additionally, I've observed that they do occasionally do the lunk alarm when some people unnecessarily slam weights (like when someone literally drops the weights from the highest point on a machine.. oof). So equipment maintenance is 5*, cleanliness is 5*, and the associates are friendly 5*. Great experience all around.

This Planet is pretty nice and clean still (probably because it's new). It is one of my favorite PFs to go to, but it does close at 7 on the weekends, and they mean it, i.e., lights turning off while you're still in the locker room. Ahaha!

I was a member at LA fitness in Royal Oak. Planet fitness was offering a special for the weekend due to the air quality in Detroit Michigan. I took advantage of it. I was a former member of Planet Fitness. I was very impressed with the new equipment, fresh air, and clean gym. I decided to cancel my membership at LA fitness and I joined the same day.

Very disappointed. I signed up for the black card membership where you can bring a guest. I thought this would be perfect so I decided to bring my son since he is a young athlete. They told me I had to bring in a "birth certificate" to confirm he was a minor. ??? I looked on the website and my gym contract and no where does it state it is mandatory a birth certificate is needed. I spoke to the manager who attempted to say it was written down in the contract I just had to read between the lines ( still wasn't there) spoke to the GM and yey again he wanted to state the same thing because he didn't want his employees to look bad. But right is right and this must be in writing. They told me I had to sign a minor waiver which I understood that but to say specifically a "birth cert" no school id, no other option. I completed the customer service form on the website no response. The Gm would not give the district manager number told me I had to submit the form.. he said he had not received.. just a lot of nothing needless to say I cancelled my membership. Went to a competitor but i still want to speak A district manager

This location is conveniently located in the Gateway Mall with other stores I frequent. Planet Fitness is friendly staff keeps the gym well maintained and is always ready to assist. It is smaller than cheers and not open 24 hours but the convenience is well worth the difference. I highly recommend Planet Fitness.

I am disappointed in the capitalistic greed of the Planet Fitness brand. Like most corporations, its greed is paramount. I cancelled my membership and they took the annual fee out, and "claim" they can't give it back. Forty dollars is not much, but they have no reason to keep it besides straight greed. How many people do they do this to? I would guess, plenty. Planet Fitness will never get a chance to keep unwarranted money from me again. Capitalism breeds greed. Its never enough. Well PF, I have had enough. Forty dollars to a big corporation is nothing, for me, it would've been a tank of gas.

I usually go to the Southfield location but this location is cool. It's never crowded and It's very clean. The workers literally clean the equipment several times in the two hours that I am here.
