The planet fitness in Kentwood on eastern and 52nd street is the place where I can go to clear my head without any distractions. The staff at the gym is usually smiling and helpful, they walk walk around the gym and clean and tidy. it seems it has more equipment 🎉🎉

Woman's showers always flooded. I have been all over the United States and they have beautiful shower facilities. Your location refuses to fix the flooding in the shower room. It's ridiculous that with huge safety issues that can result, you haven't even taken the first step in acquiring the longer and wider curtains everyone else has. It's filthy and there is no excuse. Lawsuit waitng to happen. I have seen mold freely growing for weeks with no one intervening. It's not my job to fix it or deal with it. You have two weeks to fix it or I'm calling health inspections in.

I went in today to work out. Some girl named Bri came up to me while I was working out and told me not to slam the equipment. I was nice about it didn't say anything but the more I thought about it the more pissed I got. I don't know if she's ever used this machine but you can let it come back and it rocks which helps you go forward again as far as any of the other equipment none of it was slamming or whatever. I just think it's some girl who might be a manager and it's went to her head.

(Almost a duplicate review to 68th because they are like... in sync with the staff & cleanliness 😂) I've been to numerous gyms from my teens years & up. Weight lifting & machines aren't my thing, I prefer kickboxing. But my health insurance granted me the active & fit program & led me to participate at planet fitness again & other qualifying gyms around grand rapids. I normally go to 68th street & this one occasionally; & I must mention that out of most planet fitnesses in grand rapids these 2 are the CLEANEST, most comfortable & welcoming PF's.
At 44th street I'm always seeing the 2nd shift staff clean everything everywhere & stay busy. Having clean areas, locker rooms, machinery & countertops are extra nice. The staff I see when I attend (can't remember all names but I mostly go on 2nd shift times) If I need anything in assistance, questions answered at all they're always quick to help & resolve. An environment like this makes me want to continue to come back here & 68th vs others due to the filthyness, lack of work ethic / efficiency. This team should definitely be more recognized for the work they put in. I admire their professionalism yet they can be personable at the appropriate times & make me laugh 😃

I've been a member here for about 5 years and they are constantly making updates. I have fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease, so I have physical limitations and don't come here to lose weight or get super strong. I workout as a way to continue to do the exercises that my physical therapist gave me, work on my balance to hopefully avoid injuries, and get a little stronger to make it easier to pull myself up to a seated/standing position.. I appreciate that almost every time I'm there I see others that are rehabbing injuries or just trying to maintain their flexibility/strength. Planet fitness has great video tutorials to help those who are unfamiliar with different machines learn how to use them quickly and easily, they also have workout videos and other information on their app that is very helpful.

I would highly recommend Planet Fitness to anyone who wants to workout for any reason and I absolutely love this location.

11/26/2024 went to the gym this morning to do my daily cardio like I do most mornings. This particular morning only 2 of the 6 stair climbers were functional. I was lucky enough to get on one of the working ones. On my way out the door I stopped at the front desk to notify one of the managers on duty about the issues of the other 4 stair climbers. he explained they have been having lots of issues with them, I asked if they were going to be updating them any time soon because the other planets fitness I've been to (MARKET, Lake Michigan) have new updated ones or at least going to have them fixed sooner then later. He Replied "I have no idea" I reminded him everyone in this club pays a maintenance fee every year to cover things like this he did not seem to care about anything i had to say. Very poor service. I'll be taking my business to CRUNCH Fitness when they open in Dec.

This location is my main gym because it's very close to my apartment. I really like this place. The staff are kind and accommodating, and they make sure to keep the place spotless and stocked up (paper towels, disinfectant spray, dusted, and maintained).

I wish they had more than 4 Smith machines because they are always in use, which means waiting for one to open. It's no big deal, though. I appreciate the quantity of machines and cardio equipment. The locker room is a good size. I'm assuming it's identical to the women's room.

So yeah, this gym off of 28th Street in Wyoming is great. I suggest anyone who wants to join, go here if it's convenient for you!

Apparently these morons let someone enroll in my name in 2018 and when I went to start up this past month they tried to get me for hundreds after letting me check in for 2 weeks. I explained I had just signed up and I'm not sure what they're talking about. Didn't help. Called no help. Not paying money for some bs membership that never belonged to me. I've had a few problems here, and when I ask staff questions they all give me a different answer. They all claim to be right but each one says the other is wrong or they make something up just to get you to leave them alone.
Nobody knows what's going on and there is absolutely zero communication between managers and between managers and every other staff member.
I tried for two whole months to get things straight. I talked to managers such as Bri and Jacob as well as other staff such as Parker and Joey. Joey straight up lied to my face twice and Bri later defended him.
For two months I was constantly lied to by staff. Each one says something different. This location has failed the company as a whole and I am extremely disappointed.
I will NEVER go to planet fitness again.

Just canceled the 10th of April inside at the desk. A lady helps me and tells me to screen shot my bar code and I will still have a month since I just paid my Monthly payment… I come in today. I went to Planet Fitness for a little while but I didn't like it as much as the YMCA. So I am back to have a Membership @ the Y. Also I tried the Gym out @ GVSU but I didn't like that Gym as much either. Planet Fitness doesn't have a pool or a track or a spa or a sauna. Also the Gym out @ GVSU where I work has a track & pool but I am not sure about a spa or a sauna. But that Gym is a recreation center so I couldn't just get in pool whenever I wanted too. So the Y is the best place to workout.

I just gotta say, bri has a hard crush on me and likes to target me specifically cause I’m jacked as hell, can’t wear tanks cut offs like everyone else at the gym. Once I listen to her instructions, I see people wearing the same tanks as I wear showing as much more nipples than I can ever see from a pepperoni pizza. She’s comfortable coming up to me because I worked at the location before, but when there someone she doesn’t know, she probably doesn’t acknowledge the person and says to herself, “he looks too scary to talk to.” Bad management and unfair treatment and meat riding is crazy. My home gym only has the stand up so I was excited about the lay down beds, another plus is they allow longer Tanning here in this state than they do in my home state. Nice plus as well. A generally clean gym with a reasonable variety and amount of machines. They also offer tanning, hydro massage, and massage chairs in addition to the typical workout equipment. Although the facilities are generally nice, the hours are a bit obscure and don’t reflect the 24/5 model they advertise. They are in fact only open a full 24 hours on 3 days in a week. It’s still a decent spot but keep your eye on the time and day of the week you’re looking to go. They might be closed or closing soon.

Come as a guest with my girlfriend 3 or 4 times a week now. Still not impressed with the layout of equipment. Although it's better and they have made some changes, the placement of quite a few machines is just simply awkward (imo). 30 minute room is my go-to, along side the treadmills. PF has the best prices around. That's just a fact. And you don't have to be a part of a group or have a trainer to be a member. So that's nice. Big space, and now that is no longer a beginning of a year, it's really not too packed most days (it's really kind of hit or miss).
Friendly desk people, and it seems generally pretty clean.
PLEASE wipe down AND Reset your machines, people!

I agree with LeavesofEcstacy about the stretching area being cluttered with weights and ab machines. I've thought about going home to stretch too.
I think you could get by with a few less machines and at least 10 treadmill and eliptical machines. It's crowded in that big space you have.
I thought your response to her polite comment was dismissive, and you should take a look into her concern. It was like a pasted comment.

I love this location, the staff is very nice, everything is very clean, and I’ve never had any issues getting on any machines I needed. My only gripe is the layout of the “stretching” area where there is an assortment of weightlifting equipment and never enough room to actually stretch. I somewhat frequently end up doing my cooldown routine at home because the lack of space. That said, I still go about 3-4 times a week and plan to continue to do so and I recommend this location as long as you’re okay with occasionally having to do your stretching at home.
