Owner clearly wants to be LA Fitness. Staff is nice but allows people to train entire groups of kids. Location removed ALL stretching & mobility equipment and keeps adding unnecessary wall mirrors. Fans broken on half the treadmills. floor keeps getting more and more crowded with duplicate equipment. looking forward to changing my home club ASAP.

I have repeatedly seen gym members taking selfies in the locker room while people are changing. When I have mentioned this to staff I was brushed off. This place is dirty. Locker Room showers are not cleaned by staff at all. The showers have soap scum and hair clumps. Only cleaning done to the showers is the occasional spritz with the bottle of cleaner by a gym member. The changing rooms aren't clean either. Witnessed an employee this morning walk into the locker room this morning to "clean" she checked the toilet stalls (which were nasty) localized that they weren't dirty enough to be cleaned and then put out a wet floor sign and left. Gym area isn't any better. Only time the equipment gets wiped down is by a gym member and it doesn't happen often. The gym floor is dirty and desperately needs to be cleaned. If you're looking for a place to make your skin crawl or to give you fungus or an infection of some sort or to have a naked photo of yourself end up on social media because someone took a gym locker selfie this is the place for you.

I enjoy the large variety of machines and how they're not just free weights so we dont have to reload the plates frequently. Still yet to check out the spa but will soon enough. Friendly staff and love the price/bring a friend policy if you're a black card member. Also great that 14+ works out for free in the summer (promoting health and wellness to the youth).

A ton of these reviews have a response from the club to contact the management team with concerns. Yesterday I did just that after following up over mutliple days with staff about pertinent safety issues. They don't enforce any posted rules and as the days pass things get worse and worse. Rare to see employees actually clean anything anymore either, was a member here since 2016 clocked in 2,200+ times but due to the response from the manager I chose to cancel the membership. 100 % made to feel as though I was the problem when bringing concerns to the forefront. Rather mocked for it honestly.
If you value safety and cleanliness this is probably not the place to be.

Terrific gym!! Much larger than other PF locations. Rarely do I wait for a bench or machine. Always clean and well-lit. This location is closer to my workplace than another location, so come here after work to save drive-time and go to another location on weekends. My only suggestion is if there could be mirrors in the warm-up area.

This is my favorite place to be. The gym equipment is kept in top tier shape and the staff do a wonderful job keeping everything cleaned and stocked. I enjoy coming to this gym because it's not just a gym to me but like a second home. Lynn is super sweet, friendly, personable, is very knowledgeable about everything form the policies to anything else. Sam is always sure to welcome guests in or out of the building as well as diligently checking on the locker rooms. The guys - Ritchie, Jesse, and Kaleb - are all super sweet and funny as well as being great at their jobs. There having a summer program for teens and I showed up to work out and there was no room for me, I’m a member why is the gym filled with teen that got in for free, they sould have a set time for the teens so they won’t be in the gym with a whole bunch of grown people. This is some bull shit😡

The music they have been playing has been so loud that it's almost impossible to listen to your own music at a safe level. It's difficult to have conversations as it's so loud, feels like being in a loud bar.

The music being at such an extreme volume that it's legitimately unenjoyable to be in space, especially if you want to listen your own music or talk to someone without going "Huh" "What".

I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for MONTHS! Unable to get in contact with them through phone, email, nothing. I moved out of state and didn’t realize you can only cancel in person. For my first public gym I got a membership to, its pretty nice. Definitely a lot of cardio equipment. The staff is really nice if your nice to them and just respect the policies. I did get asked to leave because of the workboots i was wearing which is fair considering Its part of the contract and its not necessarily great gym etiquette anyways haha. Evidence the staff is cool: I armwrestled one of the staff and he schooled me. Now I have more encouragement to get absolutely yoked🏋‍♂️.

This is the first gym I’ve gone to where they don’t show you around first. Pretty rude and unhelpful at the counter. They tell you nothing about tanning or how to use anything. Employees got lipstick all over his neck that matches the rude girl’s lips. Definitely an unprofessional experience. First day working out here and I’m on my phone looking for a better gym already.

Very disappointing in their choice of TV channels. They switched the NFL channel to the MLB channel for some reason, preventing the opportunity to watch live games. I'm stuck watching baseball reruns. When I asked them to change the channel back to the way it originally was, the manager said no. I was then told that I could call the district manager, but they refused to give me the contact number.

I've been coming to this gym off-and-on for years and don't think I'll ever be returning.
I have an upcoming trip that will take me away for several months. So i decided to quit my membership and restart when i get back. I asked several employees when i should quit so i can still work out most of December but not be charged beyond that. I was told time and again that the cycle ends on the 18th and i have to quit between the 18th and the 10th of the next month. So I ended it on 11/19 and was told I could use my membership until 12/18 (btw, they don't make quitting easy).
Came in today 12/16 to find my app no longer recognizes me as a member. Approached the front desk and asked the employee (Lynne) about this, she was not very friendly and told me the system shows me quitting 12/16. I showed her the cancellation email I received showing that I cancelled on 11/19. She says it doesn't matter, system says 12/16... ok, so when can I use the gym until? Just today. But the cancellation email clearly says "Last Day To Use Gym: 12/17". Again, not her problem. Ok, can I use the black card membership area? No. But my membership is the black card one, that's what I paid for and I should have it at least today (funny how it kept getting reduced from 18th to 17th to 16th). "No, you can't use those benefits on the last days of your membership" ‐ said Lynne.

I joined this Planet Fitness after a brief phone conversation with Lynn, who was really nice and explained to me how it worked and answered questions that I had for my specific needs.

I’ve been a member now for two months, and I honestly love it. I was skeptical at first, but I have lost weight and built muscle and that’s exactly what I was hoping to accomplish by joining a gym. This is my first time joining a gym and it’s been a good experience.

Despite all the sweaty people, it always smells nice and clean in there, and I like the feature on the app that tells you how many people there are at any given time because I usually go after I get off work and I never have to wait at all for the equipment that’s necessary for me to finish my planned workouts.

Although I mostly stick to myself, I’ve made some friends that I occasionally chat with and I always make sure to chat with Lynn when I see her, because she’s always got a positive attitude and is quick to explain things when I look like a chicken with its head cut off, even when she’s busy with work like cleaning the equipment or mopping.

I have recommended this particular Planet Fitness to a few friends and I’ve even brought some in using my Buddy Pass from my Black Card membership and they also had a positive experience. If you want to get fit or just be a bit more active in life, I highly suggest you join Planet Fitness, because although I haven’t been to any other clubs yet, this one fits all my fitness needs, and the staff is always pleasant, and the gym is always clean and smells nice.

Place is always crowded, never enough free weights, never enough benches. They did a renovation that seems completely useless because it didnt address any of the issues with the space and really added no value to the gym. Also, the groups of people working out together (4+ in a group) make the problem worst at times as more free weights are held up while not actually being used.

Either get more free weights and benches or institute you can only hold use one set of weights at a time (even if working out in a group)

Hey, things haven't gotten any better since my last review of this gym. Almost all the padded workout stations are cracked or have holes. It's been like this for months, and this is the only gym where repairs take forever.

This is my home gym, and I used to brag about how it was the best. But I haven't said that in about 18 months.

The men's locker room still doesn't have any spray bottles. I've talked to a few of the employees, including Justin, the manager, about it. He said he's waiting for them to install brackets or something. I like to spray down the shower and other areas, and in the winter, the bottom of the lockers gets really salty and dirty from all the snow outside.

Another thing is, the sanitation stations are sometimes empty, either the spray bottles or paper towels. I don't understand how this happens when there's always more than one employee working. And if there are no cleaning supplies, some people won't wipe down the machines before and after they use them. I don't go around checking every station to make sure they're stocked; I just notice the ones near the machines I use.

I'll give another review in 6 months and see if things improve.

1) Hold people more accountable for cleaning the tanning beds and machines.
2) Get rid of the narly smelling fragrant soap.
3) Ban aerosols from the locker room.
4) Have maintenance clean the lockers including the dust once a month at least.
5) keep the stretching floor area in front clean, free of dirt and small stones.
6) make an adjustment on people's membership who can't work out on reg basis, like in summer.
7) find out who is throwing the birdseed on the sidewalks, and tell them to stop it.
8) Tighten all faucet, shower handles!

To the two white ladies who kicked out the man in yeezy foams and a work out tank for his attire recently, shame on you! We saw the building and there was almost no one in there besides him. He wasn't dressedd inappropriately and hes been there numerous of times dressed like that. At the end of the day it is more than obvious this was racially motivated. It's 2024!! Get with the times. Sad thing is, his workouts promoted your gym more than anything. How he was handled was tasteless and I hope planet fitness deals with this situation fast. I love going to the one on Saginaw, it's our go-to gym. I have heard that the Holt location has plenty of machines available as well. If you get a membership at planet fitness then try to cancel it in person, in writing and over the phone. They will ignore your letters and your calls and continue to charge you anyhow. I'm out almost $300 and no one will call me back!

It's been another 2 months and over $50 more paid. They still have not returned my money! Do not get a membership unless you want to cancel your bank account to get them to stop taking payments after you cancel.
