This Planet Fitness needs more cardio friendly machines like "the Nu Step" to service their senior clients. There is always a line to use their lower impact machines while they always have fifteen or more idol treadmills and elipticals at any given time. There is never a wait. They should not agree to participate in the silver sneaker program "that helps them financially support their location" if they can't realistically service a senior clientele. It is obvious that they cannot when you have such a long line to use this machine. They only have two of these machines lower impact "cardio friendly machines" at this facility and they are always in use. One has been down this past week and you can't get to a machine at all now without a long wait. There were eight of us there vying for the machine yesterday around 11 a.m. It makes no sense when they are located in an aging community and participate in the silver sneakers program that helps support their gym (for the younger generation) why they do not have more than two of these machines for seniors. When you complain they just shrug their shoulders and say they've told corporate. Then they won't give you corporate information to contact them. Apparently we are not their demographicl. If that is the case then I feel they should not make money or enlist in the silver sneakers program if they are not agreeable to support and accommodate the senior population who require the lower impact machines. They need to get rid of a couple treadmills and elipticals that are "always idol" and get two more nu step style machines to service the senior clientele that are also loyal customers during the day. I feel management has their head in the clouds if they feel gyms are only for young healthy people . . . there are many of us that are trying to just maintain our mobility and who need access to lower impact machines. We are your customer too!

I’m wondering if there can be something done regarding “gym-timidation” at this location. I love the equipment and staff seems friendly- I’ve been coming here for a couple years now. Today I had an extremely unpleasant encounter with another gym member. I was using one of the cable machines and this man walked up to me and asked me how many sets I had left which is fine. But then he proceeded to ask me if I could move to another spot because HE wanted to use both cable machines side by to side to do chest fly. Why should I have to move so he can use two pieces of equipment? I continued on my workout after I politely told him I was not going to move to another spot on the cable machine, but he *stood there* in front of me staring at me to purposely make me uncomfortable until I was finished. I thought the whole premise of this place was a non-intimidating gym experience. I might have to find a new gym if this is going to be allowed.

**My suggestion is if they could turn or stagger the cable machines then that would solve the problem. I noticed other members are being approached to move as well so that these men can use two cable machines side by side to do chest flies. and I don’t think that’s fair.**

Not sure who was the short bald white guy when I just showed up, but I moved to this area a year ago and it was hoping to work out today and they were closed for renovations or something.. but he was not very nice. While the lovely lady was talking to me. He mumbled something and she suddenly got quiet and stop talking to me. Not sure what that was about, but it was not very nice. Very unwelcoming. Maybe I will be back. Maybe I’ll just go to a different location.

1 star deducted because they keep this gym hot as heck! I swear it feels like they’re running the heaters in there -I have lung issues and it makes my workout so much more difficult -I went to the seven and Middlebelt location and couldn’t get over how cool it felt when I walked in - much easier for me to breathe and an hour long workout won’t kill me!🤣

It is one of the few gyms that I feel comfortable going to as an elderly person. The machines are easy enough for me to use. At some gyms, they can be so cumbersome and hard to adjust to your needs - I also don’t feel like the oldest person in the gym.👵🏻🤣 this is where the niceness and helpfulness of the staff comes in. Because they will assist you if you don’t know how to use the machine and not make you feel like you’re an idiot or bothering them-

With that said it is my favorite location. It is always clean. Some of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I rarely see a machine out of order. One of the largest PFS in the area. I occasionally have to go to the one on Middlebelt and 7Mile and it seems much smaller in comparison.

There are plenty of cardio machines. I noted that in the past handful of years, that I’ve not been able to go to this location, they got rid of some of my favorite cardio machines- they are currently doing a refresh and I’m worried they’re again going to get rid of some of my favorite machines-

They have a wide range of strength training machines, and instead of offering only one, as many other PFs often do, this location offers two or three of the same machine. This is great because you have those who like to hog a machine and sit on them forever and you don’t have to wait. It’s pretty easy at this location to get onto a machine. I will say that some of the machines seem outdated and a struggle to use so possibly the refresh will take care of that-

There are a handful of pieces equipment that are at the seven and Middlebelt location that I wish we had at my location-

The locker room is spacious, clean- I love that the shower areas are off towards the back and offer privacy and they have private small little changing areas- The bench areas around the lockers are comfortable to sit on and putting on shoes or changing-

Womens rest room toilets all had urine all over them, I told an employee at front desk and was told, he said he couldn't do anything that he'd get a woman to clean it....seriously!!
It's a biohazard!!
All I see are the employees behind the front desk on their phones.
The gym is dirty!

Large gym with really nice people. Limited on free weights I have plenty for the majority of people. Men's locker room is starting to get run down and showers need updating. Overall, a great gym for the price but hoping it doesn't go downhill.

I can get onto any machine no problem each visit except the two butterfly machines which are in constant use with sometimes people camping near them. This is due to the popularity of the machine combined with people doing 6 sets (3 sets of real delts and 3 sets of pec flies) compared to other machines such as the Chest Press were people only do 3 sets in total.

I just want to say this Planet Fitness is one of the best and cleanest.
The staff is amazingly on top of it.
I also want to commend David the trainer as he is one of the best trainers I've ever had and I've been working out for over 30 years and won't stop!
He's so dedicated and knowledgeable on every workout. Also he's taught me a lot on how to properly do the exercises without hurting myself.
Seriously come out and try the classes you won't be disappointed.

Been here almost every day for the past couple of months - usually early morning, sometimes in the evening. Always clean and every time I’m there staff is cleaning. I saw a poor review saying the parking lot isn’t safe... this is a pretty safe area of Livonia. I’ve never felt unsafe coming from or going to my car. The lot is well lit when it’s dark. I’ve also never noticed the “hard rap” played on weekends... but I bring my own music when I don’t want to listen to what’s on over head.

We have had a membership for 15 years with PF, never a single regret; today was no exception. The countless hours they spend on cleaning (especially during covid) and guest service has never wavered.

Jess at the front counter is exceptional! She took extra time with me regarding tanning without hesitation. I took her recommendation and left feeling like I was just on a vacation!!!

I feel it is important to recognize the people who help us daily with things that some disregard as..."well it's their job"! Being in the service industry myself, I find it significant to let the great people and places we visit know they had an impact on our day!

Free weights are rather inadequate like most other pf locations.
Friendly staff like most other pf locations; I didn't catch her name but the girl who scanned my day pass and set me up was especially nice and a total sweetheart.
The layout of the weight section is a bit off here...IMO It'd make a lot more sense to have the free weights next to the cable/pulley system instead of separating them with 10 Smith machines.

It is a very good gym, their monthly membership is very cheap, really like their hours, they are open 24hrs 5 days a week and Saturday and Sundays 7am to 7pm AND they are open on holidays.
They have good variety of excercise machines and if you pay a little bit more you have access to massage beds and chairs

The most unprofessional and rude experience I ever had. During the COVID, I called and asked them to put my account on hold. They said it is taken care of but then they charged me for 13 months!!! I went to the place in person and asked them to solve the issue and they said they cannot but they will freeze my account from that time and I can come back and resume. Then I noticed AI was charged again and when I called they said their rule is 2 months freeze and I had to stop by again to continue that!!! When I asked for a solution they simply said you can cancel your membership and then they did it!!! Be careful when work with these people!

This is the only branch of Planet Fitness I go so I can’t speak for the other locations. The place is clean and I can see staff cleaning it up routinely even those nooks & crannies that are hard to reach. Didn’t notice any dust at all anywhere. Staff are pleasant and courteous. Members wear mask and observe the rules. My only gripe is that the free weights (dumbells) only go up to 60lb & during peak hours, it’s hard to get a bench on the free weights section.

I’m a member at the Northville location but visit 5 mile Livonia PF quite often. I love this place. Super clean. Friendly staff from my experiences. As far as people complaining about the TV’s not working sometimes or not playing what YOU want to watch...who cares. Bring some headphones and get on with it. You’re there to work out, not watch tv. Just my opinion.
