I didn't have any problems with the equipment or people. It was the monthly payments that were all over the map. Expensive as all get out one month then where it was supposed to be another month then back to stupid expensive the next. I talked to some people and they said they didnt have that problem and they had the black card as well, also their payments were consistent. Something is fishy with their system. 2 of us canceled because of it.

Doesn’t matter how many complaints they receive, they allow creeps to record men in the locker room and women using equipment. So much for a safe atmosphere for all.
Reading through reviews I’m not surprised, as it seems even the owner won’t address issues or speak to his staff, but instead asks you to reach out to a manager with no provided contact in the response.

I’ve been a Planet Fitness member for over three years and frequently travel for work, so I visit many different locations. Unfortunately, the Muskegon location has been by far the most unwelcoming experience I’ve had. My pregnant fiancée and I have stopped by this gym a few times recently, and every time we’ve encountered a level of rudeness and attitude from certain staff members that’s honestly baffling.

On our first visit, we came in carrying our large gym bags and wearing Crocs, fully intending to change into our sneakers once we got situated. An employee (a heavier-set woman) gave us an immediate attitude, rolling her eyes and sarcastically asking, “Do you have sneakers? Those aren’t permitted.” We calmly explained that we did have sneakers in our bag, but the interaction was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional — especially since we were polite and respectful.

Another time, we went to use the massage chairs — we share a Black Card membership and usually go together. I had stepped out to the car briefly while my fiancée reserved a spot for us. When I came back, he told me the staff had made a big deal about how only Black Card members are allowed in the massage area. We didn’t argue or cause any issues — he was simply waiting for me, not using the chair. Still, a young male employee with semi-long hair rushed into the area and told him I wasn’t allowed to be there at all. It felt completely unnecessary and embarrassing. We quickly left after that interaction because we genuinely felt unwanted and uncomfortable.

And then to top it all off — as we were walking out, I caught the same employee smirking in the corner of my eye, smiling and telling us to “have a great night” like he didn’t just basically kick us out. The whole experience felt passive-aggressive and dismissive, and it left a really bad impression.

It was embarrassing, unnecessary, and felt more like a power trip than a policy being enforced. We’ve never experienced this kind of treatment at any other Planet Fitness. We always come in with respect and good energy, and it’s disappointing to be treated like a problem just for showing up.

I don’t recommend this location — not because of the gym itself, but because of how the staff chooses to treat people. If you’re in the area, consider visiting another PF location where customer service actually matches the “Judgment Free Zone” slogan.

Always busy unless you go super late. The weekend hours are beyond terrible. I cannot stand the new renovations. It is way more compacted and congested. Most of the machines are now scattered throughout the place or you're stuck between a treadmill and the main asile. The new layout and changes are not great.

All of your cardio machines have a QR code to connect them to the Life Fitness app. Most of them do not connect at all. I like to track my workouts and the app helps me do that. Please fix this.

Arrived for a 6:30 am class and trainer is not there. She over slept and the counter person said maybe the class will be rescheduled. How about sending me a text when she did not arrive at 6am. Very irresponsible and unprofessional. This is an example of a company not wanting to deliver what it promised and not caring.

In reference to the answer I received from Planet Fitness about reaching out to the club manager, thanks but no thanks. The counter person should communicate to the manager or perhaps the corporate office should communicate to the manager. Maybe someone should check the trainer's time card and find out why she wasn't there for her scheduled shift.

My 1st time to a gym in almost 24 years and I have to say WOW about Planet Fitness. Met the manager Justin there and he gave my son and I a quick tour and even took the time to find out our needs. I have sever back and knee issues and he gave me low impact ways I could get a good workout in without feeling like I was killing myself. He even took the time to write down a workout program for my son to help not only in Hockey but also in racing. The gym was very clean and the machines worked flawlessly. Trust me when I say, " get you a Black Card membership. The free massage chairs and aqua massage tables is worth it alone.

Staff are great, Q has helped me improve my routine and helped me feel comfortable trying new machines. He answered all my questions and guided me through some exercises. It is usually pretty clean and well stocked with supplies. They are quick to answer the front desk. All the machines work great and never seem to be broken or damaged. Definitely love my gym and the people around me making it a comfortable judge free zone.

Appliances are often broken, cleaning supplies are not being replaced in time but the worst of all is the lighting. Something is wrong with those lightbulbs, I'm not sure why but it hurts my eyes.. I prefer the planet fitness on Apple Ave, even though it's more crowded there.

I am not going into details but I had an issue with one of their employees that resulted in me being very upset and physically hurt. The very next business day I had planned on emailing the general manager. Well, he called me before I had my coffee and sat down at my pc to write my email. This meant a lot to me. What good is a black card membership if you won’t let me use it because you want to leave early? I arrived almost a half hour before the gym closes to use a 10 minute massage chair (which would be done well before closing) and was denied because “some people have been staying too long” Not only is this no longer a 24/7 gym like when I signed up; but they are cutting back on other areas with no reduction in charges. Really frustrating to not be getting all of what I am paying for.

Guess they wanted a review for the specific location and not the name planet fitness in general. So this is for Henry st where I signed up. Here’s my scenario. Just paid for the membership the fees so let’s say like $52. And some change or so. So not even a week later planet fitness tried to debit my card for the following month….the dude that called me this morning to complain about my review. Don’t worry, I’ll be in to cancel my membership on Apple ave very soon. It doesn’t matter what the location is, you’re representing the name “planet fitness” don’t contact me if you work for planet fitness. My reviews don’t change. Have a good day. Dropped off my "I don't want to be In your club anymore slip" I dropped my slip off 3 weeks ago and then just this morning they tried to debit my account again. So they never cancelled my membership...they need to check their education l/communication levels before they give them the club house.

The Henry St PF has a problem maintaining hot water in the men’s showers for over a year. The floors in the exercise areas aren’t kept clean of dust or debris. The machines and tread mills do not get dusted/cleans throughly. These issues have been brought to staff attention numerous times by many members and not much changes. Often there are 2-4 staff at the desk chatting rather than keepin the facility “squeaky”.

If you looking to use rowing machines don't come here! They have two old ones that they never maintenance. The seat screeches when it goes back and a cord is about to break. Despite everyone complaining about it they have done nothing to them in the year I've been here. I came here for the rowers. 🙄 Also your advertised 10 minute hydromessage is now 7 minutes. I looked forward to those 10 minutes!
