Have been a member for about two months now, and the value for money is great! I could spend 2-10x the monthly fee at other local gyms, with only a few differing perks. The space is well maintained, I don’t see a lot of things out of order, and when they are they get resolved quickly. Black card perks are great and especially valuable if you’ll want to use other locations (I’ve taken advantage of this several times already, great feature!)

Smaller than most of the PF centers, the spa area is outdated and most of the new Matrix machines are ergonomically worse than the old ones. Staff is hit and miss from laid back to uptight. All of the other PF locations around them are better but this one's the closest to me.

This location is the best! I’ve been meaning to write a review for a while now but after having extra help from Kylie (sp?) on my last visit, I had to! She’s always busy, sweet, friendly, responsible, and goes above and beyond! As a previous manager and business owner, I feel Kylie is definitely someone you can trust and depend on, one of the few left who does the right thing, even when no one is watching. I remember when she first started, and she has quickly become my favorite!
I visit your gym about five times per week, always clean, never over crowded, never have to wait for machines! Luv you guys! ❤️

It's clean. Its just not set up like my home gym. Its very busy, you have to wait for a smith machine, plus they're all the newer ones that go straight up and hook on the opposite way of the old style. It's very dark in there too.

This is a very nice and spacious planet fitness. I visited on a Tuesday late afternoon and used the black card area to do some work before using the machines and free weights. There is a lot of space and the gym is new and updated and clean. The staff was also friendly. I would definitely recommend this location.

Honestly, I've been to many different Planet Fitness locations, from 15 mile to Hall Road, Fraser, but this one is the WORST. I'll start by saying the people at the front desk were extremely rude and not friendly. Didn't acknowledge the existence of people who weren't regulars or teens. When I left they didn't say anything either. Good luck using any of the equipment that isn't cardio based as sooooo many young dudes sit on it and goof around wasting time for what feels like forever. Feels like a high school in there. 2 stars because if you like cardio and that's all you wanna do, this gym is for you.

I loved this gym when I started years ago. Still do, BUT!!!! Since the manager has been on maternity leave I feel this gym and the staff has went downhill!! Allyson must have ran a tight ship. It was so much cleaner when she was here!!! The women restroom is always missing soap and not as clean. The equipment use to look very clean. Not now. There is sit and hair piled in corners, I’m so disappointed in how this place is slaking with just one person out. Get it to staff. Why do three of you need to stand at the front desk. I love the morning staff here!! They are friendly, busy working and take very good care of the place. Always cleaning! They are so friendly and I love when they call me by name!
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is I’d like to see different equipment.

Today I came in 06/01/2024. Been coming to this place for years never ever had an issue with a staff member. I believe her name is Alyssa . I go I came in for tanning I said I want level 4 but not new light bulbs. She goes to me number 8 has new 7 and 9 does not. I understood her very well. I've been doing level 4 for a while. She kept on telling me its not 7 minutes bed 9 its bed 7 and 9 that don't have new light bulbs im like lady i comprehend . Even her male coworker even try to tell her to calm down. She spoke to me like I didn't understand her. Then she goes you have eye wear I said no. She says with attitude oh you need one. I go ill purchase no problem. So I took that room number to go to my tanning bed i just wanted to make sure to ask was it number 6 or 9 she goes you flipped it with an attitude again. So I came back I go why do you have an attitude because I don't like how she talked to me. She goes I don't have one. I go I understood what you told me . She goes it seemed like you did not understand me. So I told her f u she goes I'm gonna call the cops on you I go , Go ahead. Then she proceeds to tell me go tanning before I kick you out. I go no im not gonna go now and I left. You guys should not have people working like that infront desk. She wore purple gloves had shorts on and some big manly looking shoes. Little heavier set. I believe her name is Alyssa. I want someone from management to reach out to me regarding this matter. I also said I want to speak to a manager she mumbles like oh no you won't something to that extent. I wasted my time and drove up there for nothing. I won't be coming to that location anymore. She was so rude with me for no given reason. I'm pretty sure she's new because I never seen her there before. I've been coming to that location since April 2016. She acted like she wanted to fight me. She's a liability for your company. Her male coworker saw and heard everything. This happened around 5:19 pm on June 1st 2024. Addition. It is a complete gym, clean, spacious, pleasant, new machines, good trainer Joel, he supports you in your goals. Alison as a manager is very attentive and speaks to you by name which makes the treatment more personal. I recommend this Gym.

So here's my issue. It appears that everyone who works here right now is new and doesn't really know how did you do their job which is to tell people how to use equipment at the very least. Or even turn it on. I'm on elliptical gal. And I know I'm not the brightest fan on the back sometimes but this should turn on the same way all the other surrounding machines do. Something is myself maybe they are broken Maybe they just got any ones that haven't been all the way together yet something anything. So I'd ask several employees and I've been told more or less sometimes with no words only a shrug that does say without words the same thing.... I'm new, I don't know what I'm doing yet and I don't know anything about anything here at the gym and I'm not going to ask anyone who might . But I am sorry that I don't know nothing to ask somebody who might know the answer to that. I'm you so sorry about that" maybe the employees of the Rochester store know how to work the machinery and teach clients who have just started going there to use it as well. Just saying I'm not

I mean, overall a Planet fitness is a Planet fitness, you know what you are getting when you go there; fitness machines, free weights, classes, focus rooms and massage/tanning. So let me focus on that fact that the staff here is wonderful. I've interacted with many of them, both in person and on the phone. They are curtious, friendly and knowledgeable about their job. Next, I want to add that everything here at my home gym (23/VanDyke) is nice and clean, plus I often see the staff cleaning whenever they get a chance. I generally go around early evening though, and it's always very busy. I'm honestly happy with my membership here at Planet fitness.

I have been going to this location as my location (Utica) is under construction. There are many differences but the main one I should point out is how long I have to wait to use a machine. There is only for the most part one of each machine. It is very inconvenient and waiting for equipment has been frustrating. For the volume and how busy it is, I would think there'd be more weightlifting machines for triceps, chest, and bicep. Also most people are standing around for a smith machine. There are only 4. I think there should be more.
The good thing about this location is the treadmills. They are newer and can hold any size water bottle which is nice. They have a couple different machines and I do feel more sore after using the equipment here verses Utica. So that's good!

Of the four locations I have tried, this one is my favorite. It has the best machines and each Hydro bed has its own room. Most of the staff there is amazing. However, I would like to say that there is one night girl that seems to really hate her job and likes to shut the fans off very early and also cuts the massage machines off before they are finished at night, just before closing at 10pm. I started working out a little after 830 tonight and the fans were already off, which needless to say, makes for a very hot workout. Not sure if it was the same girl with purple/pink hair again tonight turning everything off early but i saw her glaring at me as she was walking away from the counter, so most likely. I've always been very friendly to her so not sure why she is so rude and disrespectful towards me. Can you pls tell the staff, especially that young girl with purple/pink hair, that seems to hate her job, to please stop turning the fans off early. 🥵 I would love to work at Planet Fitness. If she hates working there that much, then maybe she is working for the wrong conpany and needs to work elsewhere. The rest of the staff is amazing though and I still love this location. ❤️💯

For the price you can't beat it. Great staff. My only comment is the music system. They still play way too much rap and hip hop type music. Probably fine if you're < 25.

Reply to owner - I have talked to the managers and staff about this numerous times over the last 5 years. Responses range between blank stares and the ever predictable "nothing we can do". They have no suggestions how to better balance the music type. Maybe you can step in and make a change happen in your establishment?

The central reason I signed up here was the spin bikes. The last two months is has been a constant struggle to get them to work- I have shared this with the front desk staff.
Today, again, no bikes worked, and no workers were available to help. I spent about 20 minutes myself trying, and then was told all workers were on break so it would be another 15 minutes before anyone could help me

My favorite place to workout! Super clean!
Although a young female staff member with red-ish hair began screaming at her manager today for no reason, he remained INCREDIBLY calm and respectful to customers who overheard, and de-escalated the situation. Speaking with him you could tell he was a very responsible manager.

New member here. My money was tight and I wanted to get stronger and this place came in clutch. Honestly shocked it is such a nice gym for low membership costs. Also unlike La fitness, the members don't leave trash everywhere and put stuff back and don't stare or hog weights and all that negative gym stuff. I love this gym. I’m a black card member this time around and I’m taking advantage of the tanning mostly in the multiple gyms I can use whether I go right after work or from my house or out by my friends, so handy. And let’s be honest working out makes me feel great totally got rid of my need to go to the chiropractor. I said all day so doing some cardio and some weights are in necessity.

I called to cancel my membership due to not being able to come in regularly and because of Covid, being high risk, and they told me I would have to get charged another month, even though I was weeks away from my next payment. A very dishonest practice and a rip off. The lady I spoke to was very nice and I’ve never had a problem with the actual gym, cleanliness or professionalism of the staff, so this is not a condemnation of them, just planet fitness and their cancellation policy. They will make sure you are paying for something you don’t want or use and something you cancelled within reasonable time but will still make you pay for another month. Wow. Really terrible practice.

With COVID still going on I was concerned to go back to the gym. The entire place including the bathrooms and machines are always clean, and the staff is friendly with a smile.
