I hurt my back so i haven't worked out, but i do use the massage chairs, the hydro bed and other bed that has cold and hot for parts of body. I wish it was longer than 10min sessions but i just went to front and ask for another session. It wasn't busy so it was perfect timing.

Horrendous customer service experience. Attempted to go with my cousin as a guest, haven't had a planet fitness membership in probably 5 years and was contemplating rejoining when the staff told me I inexplicably owed them 50 dollars from years in the past. 32 identical treadmills…yet TWO Fly machines. Guess which one ALWAYS has a wait, and which one never does? Stevie Wonder would know that 32 treadmills is ridiculous, and 2 fly machines isn’t nearly enough. Stevie would also notice that the same guy has worn slippers (think: clogs, with no back) in this place for the last 2-3 weeks, at least 10 times that I’ve seen. Not enforcing rules, idiotic mix of machinery… Luckily it’s cheap.

I joined planet fitness BECAUSE they claim to be open 24hrs yet locations near me with the exception of the absolute worst one close between 10pm and 12am on all but 3 days and none of the ones close are open 24hrs on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
I get off work between 10pm and 11pm so I really have been unable to maintain a viable workout plan or schedule.
Basically the big selling point is bullshit.
Totally disappointed especially since I specifically asked about that when joining.

A truly outstanding location. One of the most comfortable locker rooms and well-equipped black card spas I've ever seen. They have unlimited tanning, hydro massages, chair massages, red light therapy, red light tanning, cryotherapy, and a wellness pod, the latter three of which are very new and still quite rare at Planet Fitness in 2024.

Very friendly staff, everything clean, tons of cardio stations and Smith machines. They are well stocked with what is most popular. The Wi-Fi is fast and works well, and parking is abundant. I wish this locatiom were closer to where I live, because it's excellent.

As much as I like working out at the location, I’ve recently stopped coming due to the way a worker named ‘Brenden’ talks and acts towards people inc. myself. I was in the locker room at a few points and while he’ll be sitting on his phone near lockers he would stare at other people just having conversation or retrieving an item from lockers. I’ve tried asking him questions about a certain machines previous and he would just ignore my question or say ask another worker when he’s the only one in an area staring at others. It’s made my visits uneasy while he’s on shift, shout out to the other workers such as Juan, Naila, Sydney, Josie, Ricky and D’angela who’s been a big part in making my visits great for the time of me going helping if I ever had a question or two👍

I gave a five-star review because I love everything about planet fitness Sterling heights except for one thing. I just left the gym. It's 8:20 in the morning and the music every morning is extremely loud and screaming type music. Having a beat to work out to is great, but this is way extreme! I asked an employee Could he please do something about it, turn it down or switch stations or something and he said there's nothing he can do that It's all on a loop. I asked him if he would ask management to please do something about it and he said he would see if they could. Just making sure I bring it to your attention. I said "surely I am not the only one that has complained about this music" and he said I'm not. I am not looking for Frank Sinatra music but OMG something in between please. Many people come and have their own music and don't even listen to what's on at planet fitness. However, I'm sure they have to turn their volume up because the volume is way too loud. Everything else about planet fitness is awesome from the cleanliness to the employees. Machines etc is great! But please do something about your music. Thank you

Just didn't vibe with this place. I'm glad I didn't grab a membership. I'm not the guy that needs to be catered to by any means, but I do expect professionalism and a bit of enthusiasm. When I arrived I the plan was to walk out with a membership. When I approached the desk, I was greeted in a way that indicated that I may have been an annoyance. When I inquired about the membership, I was handed a menu, and the staff member kind of left it at that, as if I was supposed to know what I was looking at. The rest of the conversation continued in this "disregarding" manner. So I thanked her for her time handed back her menu, drove to LA Fitness 2 miles away, and grabbed (2) 18-month prepaid plans for my beautiful wife and I. Completely different reception experience. I would say the difference was professionalism and preparation.

I'd still recommend checking this gym out, I'm certain your experience will be entertaining than mine.

The trainer is almost impossible to schedule, when I asked for the location of certain equipment they almost never knew. The hours are extremely inconvenient for what they are. It just seems like none of the employees want to be there and have no interest in helping the customer.

I wouldn’t recommend going here, the lady upfront is the biggest Karen ever. I have a black card and a guest with me, we just came to workout like we always do. She denied us 2 times, first because of my crocs then because the minors parent had to bring a WHOLE BIRTH CERTIFICATE to the gym… who in their right mind is going to think to bring their son’s birth certificate to the gym. Dad was willing to sign to but she decided to be a Karen and not believe that the father wasn’t the guardian. Then we asked for a manager and she said she was the only one working and she wanted to have an attitude saying “we can argue about this all day, I don’t care.” I said are you really going to do all this, we just want to workout. I despise people like this. I came all the way from NJ too. We walked out and she gave us a sassy wave.

I really only come here because it's cheap and I don't have a home gym setup (yet).

Had a surreal experience at this location a couple years back where someone pretending to be from corporate called the front desk, they handed me the phone for a "survey" and began harassing me about my refusal to use the women's restroom.

I KNOW that sounds made up (and I wouldn't believe it either) but regardless of your personal politics the situation was quite hostile and has soured me on this company since.

But hey, at least I got a free energy drink for my trouble.

This one is great. Much bigger than others and not cramped full of machines.

Separate rooms for functional fitness and 30 minute workout is really nice. Plenty of machines and nice open free weight area.

So I call- easy money for these guys I know what the place is I don’t need a tour I’ve been lifting for a while- here’s your money I’m good… they direct me to the app to sign up which I install and do, drive up there to be told oh sorry we don’t accept Mastercard so it didn’t go through.. I asked “you don’t have anything you can do” and the 18 year olds on tiktok said sorry no.. so you don’t accept the most popular credit/debit card in the country and your staff has no way of handling or working with people that want to hand you money each month? Guess what, went right down the road to edge and was working out within 10 minutes. Same price, nicer gym. Steer clear of these guys, they won’t take care of you.

By far the BEST gym around!!!! The team there is phenomenal and are always out cleaning. From the smiles as soon as you enter, to the re-racking of the equipment during their walk arounds, the daily deep clean of all cardio and strength, regular black card spa checks, even the consistent bathroom wipe downs. Oh and the regular policy reinforcement to keep the planet safe, clean, comfortable, and most importantly, non-intimidating. I feel so welcome every time I’m here. The crew became my second family! Management is completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and downright rude. The general manager "Jasmine". Called me about questions i had for my account. She seemed okay at the beginning but started making snarky comments while she was explaining and would not allow me to talk/interject. I asked her a question because i still wasn't understanding and needed more clarification. She literally goes ballistic and yells "No I don't understand why you don't understand!". I Never witnessed anything like this especially from a so called manager? She continued yelling and became very aggressive and disrespectful. Me "the customer" literally had to ask a "general manager" to please calm down. Her sudden outburst was scary and I'm sure she scared some customers with how she was yelling and losing it. THIS IS LITERALLY UNHEARD OF. I don't know if she has anger issues but please make sure you don't bring that to work and take it out on the customer. As someone representing the company it's imperative that you always remain professional, kind and patient. That's your job! If you can't do that then you do not need to work in customer service. It's dangerous for someone that can lose their temper that fast to work with the public, she needs to be fired. Planet fitness do better, it has never been this bad!

I am a brand new member at Sterling Heights PF. I was supposed to have a 9 am appointment with Jacy. He didn’t show up for work today, and no one bothered to call me and let me know! That tells me that they don’t care about my time and how important every minute of my day is to me! Since I was already there, I decided to try the Total body enhancement. I went to the locker room first and by the time I got to enhancement room 2 it had already been running!! So the whole 2 minutes I spent in there was another TOTAL waist of MY TIME!
