This location removed all of their Arc Trainer Machines. The elliptical machines they have remaining only move the legs, not the arms. The new equipment seems like a downgrade. Major disappointment. Also, the manager with the dreads has a nasty attitude. Poor customer service.

I specifically want to go out of my way to mention Jacob, who works at the front desk and who helped me with a problem I had recently with my locker. He really went above and beyond and deserves to have the recognition. He was really kind, patient, and went out of his way for me! I highly recommend Jacob!

I workout at a variety of PF's and purposely do not have the app nor do i have a keyfab, as I like to communicate with front desk and have them manually enter my 10-digit phone number-no big problem you would think? But this is the ONLY LOCATION I GET EYE ROLLS FROM AND TODAY I INTERRUPTED THE YOUNG LADY FROM HER COLORING of a sign, to have to type me in and SHE had the nerve to tell me they arent suppose to manually enter my phone number as its against policy! She is young and that is why I do what I do as this next generation can't even say HELLO WHEN YOU WALK INTO THE BUSINESS YET ALONE ASK THEM TO DO THEIR JOB ANNOYES THEM! Can't believe in a business that is suppose to put you in a great mood and make you feel good, has staff doing the opposite to their customers!

I use to really love this location so much that I would drive far to come here but recently they have made annoying changes coming from management of this place like limiting massage chairs to 10m max and now they don’t let you watch whatever you want when you’re in there which makes having a black card pointless and it’s only this location being annoying. I wish they would go back to more times on the chairs and letting you watch other channels. This pf has the best workout machines, please don’t ever change them out!

I was thinking of switching to this gym, but I saw reviews elsewhere and now one on here talking about the theft (from locked lockers)! And it sounds like an ongoing problem that this PF is doing nothing about (possibly even perpetrated by an employee or two). So I think I’ll stick where I’m at. I was at this gym few weeks ago and requested a 20-min massage chair time. The front desk staff said... per their new policy, they can only allow 10 minutes at a time, and I would have to come out after 10 minutes to request to extend. Which I find very inconvenient and negative experience. Again today, I experienced the same scenario which they only allow 10 minutes of massage chair use at a time. The manager told me they need to enforce these guidelines "in case" if there is a long line of people waiting to use the massage chair. Note: they had all four massage chairs available and I was the only one of interest to use the massage chair at that time. I'm experiencing shoulder and back pains and needed to use the massager as a mean of therapy. However, I called the PF cooperate today and filed a complaint. I hope the cooperate can do something about this.

If you are Latino, please do not go to planet fitness. They target Latinos and only enforce policies with Latinos. We came today and floor was full of people with their bags and jackets on the floor and hanged on the equipment, but management just came directly to us and just told us to put away our stuff inside the locker. I said that we were not the only ones, to which manager said that they will enforce policies to everyone, but they walked away and did not said anything to anyone else. I waited for manager to come again to ask me to put my stuff in the locker, but this time I pointed out all of the people not complying with policy and it was then when manager decided to enforce it. Right before leaving I saw that more people had their stuff at the floor and not in the locker, when I approach the desk to mention it to management, their reply is that is hard to enforce policy and that they will take a look when they walk again the floor.

Decided on a late night workout when I asked for a massage chair one of them told there wasn't one available but there was one it was being used so the other employee could take a nap. I guess my paid black card only allows use of the amenities when the employees aren't sleeping. So they get 3 stars because of the 2 guys not allowing me to use the chair after my workout.

To the owner: Thank you for reviewing my below-posted concerns. With respect to your response (which is appreciated):
1) The vintage of the equipment in that facility is not something to be decided by its manager. This is the owner's (financial) decision, so I wouldn't be discussing the issue with your manager. 2) As to my other (minor) concerns, I have publicly acknowledged them, you have publicly responded. I should think it is your responsibility now to discuss these issues with your manager. Thank you again for your attention.

Sadly, I had to transfer to another nearby Planet Fitness location because
a) the stationary cycles are older models and none of them seem to be properly calibrated. This is my real concern; the below concerns are minimal but noteworthy:
b) the women's restroom, while not dirty, is also not necessarily as clean as it perhaps should be.
c) there are a large number (perhaps too many) of staff persons at this locale, all being paid to huddle together at the front desk, engaged with each other and with their personal smartphones.
The other location near me, while smaller, has much newer equipment, fewer staff persons who appear to be actively working on their jobs.
In general, I find that Planet Fitness suits all of my fitness needs and is very reasonably priced. I will continue to be a member.

This Planet Fitness is the best one I’ve been to — by far. The staff is very attentive and I see them making the time to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the gym. This location is also well-staffed and they greet you upon arrival. Everything is in order. The other patrons are respectful and re-rack weights, respect time limits, etc.

I can’t say enough about this Planet Fitness, and if you are thinking of signing up, do it! You won’t regret it.

I love the early morning crowds. We got to know each other so well. It's my safe place. The morning staff are so incredibly helpful, kind, and always saying good morning. Extremely clean and the staff tend to leave you alone. I did not receive any tour or intro after getting my membership, not even pointed toward the locker room. There is person dressed in work clothes using an outlet to charge their phone for several hours by the women's showers every day, clearly there to hang out and not work out, which makes me uncomfortable. I wish someone did a walkthrough now and then for security.

I have gone to this gym everyday for the past 6 months.

Two issues:
1) They just can’t seem to get staffing right in the early hours of the morning. There seems to be always at least 1 or 2 days out of the month where staff doesn’t show up and the 30 people in the parking lot (who woke up early to workout) have to go home empty handed. Shameful it’s this frequent. Likely going to switch locations.

2) Similar story. The gym will, on occasion, close early and re open at ~6am the next day. (Building or staffing issues ?) BUT, nobody shows up and there is no communication sent to those early bird customers trying to workout at 5am! Problem being people get up to work out at 5am yet the doors don’t open until 6. On top of that, staff doesn’t even show up until way past 6.

*(I am writing this review after driving TWICE to the gym on 1-4-2022 and it not being open due to staff not showing up and lack of closure communication)

Young girl at the front desk with the nose ring is always super rude, has an attitude even when you’re super kind, doesn’t greet you or say goodbye, or even respond if you say it first! No professionalism whatsoever, just goes on her phone the entire time she’s “working” & gives an attitude if you need anything from her that will mean her getting off of her phone! Such a shame because I love working out here, but the attitude given from employees is making me question whether I want to stay at this location. Also, the tanning area is always dirty, has fingerprints all over the tanning beds and looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in days. Trash cans always full to the top.. Make sure you wipe it down good before you tan. Also tanning beds are sometimes closed due to “flooding.” Another reviewer a few days ago mentioned the same thing happened. What’s the point in paying for black card memberships if you can’t use the perks. Nice gym, not so great employees.

The only '24 hour' gym around here that's actually open 24 hours, and thus you can still get a workout on a Saturday or Sunday night. Alas no classic barbells and benches, but they do have smith machines and dumbells if you need some old school iron. More machines than you can count, and the Black Card only spa is worth the membership alone. Try the red light machine before a workout and the hydromassage after one. Staff was on point and helpful even at 2am. Signed up for a membership and I will be back.

This used to be my main club. As a black card member even though it's the closest, I only go here one out of every four times I work out. The staff have become rude in the way they interact, hardly saying hello or goodbye, always watching very closely for the mask mandate and keeping their hands close to the lunk alarm button. They would literally hover and I felt uncomfortable with my friends who are also black card members. We have begun choosing other clubs that treat us with the traditional planet fitness respect and kindness.

Planet Fitness Orchard Lake is great. The gymn is extremely clean. The customers really respect rules of distance and mask protocol. I signed a membership contract this evening. I go to this gym very often and I love it. I always feel comfortable and it has much to offer in regards to machines and other equipments. Although the cleanliness specifically in the stretch and ab areas is not maintained much. There is a lot of collected dust and dirt in the corners of these 2 areas and I would recommend to pay attention to them as well when it comes to cleaning the gym entirely. I totally recommend this gym for everyone, but this is just a suggestion I wanted to make to the staff of this planet fitness.

I had called back in October when they opened back up and asked to cancel my membership because I don't feel comfortable returning. The person I talked to on the phone told me that it was canceled. They have continued to charge me. I just canceled again and they will not refund me even though I canceled in October and have not been back because I don't feel comfortable. If you are looking for a gym you may want to look elsewhere. Or if you have canceled your membership recently make sure they still aren't charging you.

I was happy with the gym. The equipment is clean and in good shape. However, prior to Covid-19 I was unable to use the facility as my disabilities required me to wear foot braces and to stay off my feet. I was given a credit and let the staff know that if my condition improved I would return. Then Covid-19 hit. My condition has worsened and I'm unable to use the facility. Then I UNEXPECTEDLY got a charge when Planet Fitness reopened. I called and told staff that I had CANCELLED my membership. They closed my account, but did not credit me the fee. In addition, because the fee was processed on a different date than usual, it came in 2 days prior to my monthly deposit. This caused my account to overdraw and I received a $35 bank fee. I should never have been charged!

I like Planet Fitness but they are not doing a great job monitoring the proper wearing of masks while exercising in the facility. Several people today were wearing a mask under their noses. My favorite location! Luckily, it’s right down the street from my house. It’s huge, the equipment is well laid out and spaced apart nicely. It’s super clean: the employees are always going around cleaning and most of the members are considerate and wipe down the machines when they finish working out. The locker room is really clean, too. This location is newer, so all of the machines are new. It gets really busy, so there’s usually a wait for the spa area, especially the hydro beds, but it’s no big deal.
