The gym overall is just fine, staff is OK, not great. They seemed somewhat annoyed to be there and acted like they were doing us a favor by allowing us to pay a bunch of money for a single day drop in. What's NOT fine is their drop in fee of $50 and what's even worse is the weekly texts they send me about membership deals. And of course they change the number all the time so blocking it does no good and there is no opt out option. I'd just take your business elsewhere, to a place that won't harass you for years after your ONE visit.....

I’ve been going to Powerhouse Gym for a long time, and it has always been a good place to work out. The staff is kind and easy to talk to, and they are always willing to help if you need anything. The gym has plenty of space, so you never feel crowded, and the equipment is easy to use. The hours are very convenient, which makes it simple to fit a workout into your day. It’s a comfortable, reliable gym, and I’ve had a very good experience there.

It’s shocking how little has changed after the renovation. The sauna may look new, but the management’s attitude is worse than ever. People walk in wearing shoes, coats, and even street clothes — as if hygiene rules simply don’t exist here. It feels like no one is in charge, and the complete lack of control ruins what could have been a great wellness experience. What’s the point of spending money on renovation if you let people treat the place like a bus stop?

I’ve been a member at Powerhouse Gym for years, and it’s been solid the whole way through. They’re always bringing in new machines, which keeps the workouts from getting boring, and everything is kept in great shape. The staff is genuinely helpful and never makes you feel awkward for asking anything. First off, why does it take over a week to fix a sauna heater?
Second, why is this place not open later on the weekends? Pandemic is over. I signed up for a 24/7 membership a long time ago. It isn't that hard to find someone who can keep the place open late on Saturday and Sunday nights. Closing at 7pm on the weekends is dumb. Some of us don't drink or do drugs and really need access to the gym in the evening. Considering canceling and switch it up to another place that let's people in 24 hours.

Power House has some of the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with. They do not care about their customers once they’ve taken your money. Every time I tried to get help, I was ignored, passed around, or flat-out lied to. They make big promises but never deliver, and when you call them out on it, they dodge responsibility.

It feels like a complete scam — they take advantage of people, waste your time, and then disappear when you need support. Save yourself the stress and don’t fall for their tricks. There are plenty of other businesses out there that actually care about their customers.

I like many things about this club, their yoga classes are great. The club is typically very clean. However, they have got to get a handle on people talking on their cell phones when they are on the cardio machines. Two of my friends have left Because of this and so has my husband. You can hear people yapping even with earphones in. We have complained numerous times and when asked for my opinion in an email, I always give it. But it just continues. It is a simple as posting a sign And enforcing it. They need to fix this or I’m going to find another club. Every single day I’ve got someone talking loudly or even on FaceTime! I’m not sure how you can get a good workout while talking but please address.

I really love Powerhouse Gym West Bloomfield—great energy, great people, and a motivating environment. One standout for me has been the functional strength/strictly strength class with Jenna. Her programming is smart, challenging, and I’ve seen real results since joining regularly.

Huge well run, well-staffed clean gym. Happy member for over 12 months. They have a pool, modern bathrooms and showers, basketball court and tons of equipment of all different makes and styles.
Trainers and counter staff are eager to please. They pay a great deal of attention to sanitizing equipment, glass and shower rooms. They are open almost all the time so it's easy to get in on your schedule.

Edit: after the response from the gym I realize it is not their fault and have adjusted my review to compensate for that. I hope the owner of the building cares about the building and the safety of the people who use it just like I’m sure they would care if tenants stopped paying rent.

When it rains it drips everywhere and is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Have had to skip leg days because I can’t dry my shoes enough to not feel like I’m gonna slip and blow out a knee on a leg press machine because it’s so dangerous.
