As a father of a daughter on the autism spectrum, I wanted to share some thoughtful feedback. My daughter is not cognitively delayed and participates in both youth tap and ballet. I’m also a licensed therapist with an understanding of how the brain learns, and from that perspective, I’ve noticed some areas where instruction could be more inclusive and effective for all students.
Typically, children with stronger working memory tend to grasp new movement patterns and routines more quickly. My concern is that the instructors appear to primarily teach to those students, leaving others—like my daughter—without adequate support to fully engage and succeed. I’ve observed several classes and noticed that while a support staff member is often present, they are not utilized to assist children who struggle with mastering the basic steps.
Additionally, my daughter is consistently placed in the far back right corner of the room. If this were a stage, she would be standing near the curtains—essentially out of the main line of instruction. Unfortunately, the teacher rarely directs attention or guidance toward that area, which limits her ability to learn and feel included.
I’m not sharing this feedback to simply complain but to offer some constructive suggestions:
Have the secondary instructor actively work with students who are struggling to keep up.
Slow down instruction at times so skills can be better retained and applied.
Provide short video clips of foundational moves and choreography for parents and students to review at home before showcases.
These small changes could make a big difference in helping every child—regardless of learning style or processing speed—feel supported and successful.

Sara creates such a welcoming environment for people of all skill levels to come together and have fun! Even in a big class setting, she is able to tailor class to each individual. Highly recommend if you’re an adult looking to start or return to dance!!!

We highly recommend Randazzo! They have done a great job meeting the needs of our 4 and 2 year olds as they try out dance and creative movement! We were able to conveniently get everyone classes on Saturday morning and it has been a great way to spend time with our kids and other families.

I love teaching the youngest dancers here! It's so fun to see the joy of dance on students faces and to present them with a fun but structured curriculum that is based on developmentally appropriate practices! I look forward to meeting future young dancers!

Amazing family-run dance studio with incredible teachers. I grew up dancing here and think of it as my second home and family. All of the teachers are wonderful, caring, knowledgeable, and extremely dedicated to their students and their craft. What I have found after dancing in many other studios (including some associated with professional dance companies!) is that Randazzo is top-notch in terms of quality of instruction and experience. My tip, try out as many different styles of dance as you can! Ballet is common for young students, but tap, jazz and modern (really any style!) can both be great on their own or support a ballet dancer in their musicality and style. And for parents of students, check out the Pilates classes. I so miss those with Sara and my core strength hasn’t been the same since!

Wonderful studio that truly wants to honor the art form. Great location off the highway and classes offered throughout the week and on Saturdays! You can tell they have an established curriculum, even in the youngest 3 year old classes. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to take dance classes.

I have been associated with the Studio for about 25 years. My daughter and son both danced there as children and now I have two granddaughters dancing there as well. I would not dream of letting anyone in my family take dance classes any where else. I have also taken adult tap, jazz and ballet classes at Randazzo Dance Studio myself and have only the highest compliments to make regarding our experience there. All of the instructors that we have had over the years have been excellent. They are professional, caring, and knowledgeable dance instructors. They only have the dancers' best interest at heart. The dancers consequently are technically excellent dancers. I have been to performances of other dance schools in the Detroit Metropolitan area and I believe the quality of the dancers from Randazzo Dance Studio is one of the best, if not THE best. I cannot end this review without mentioning my own instructors for my adult dance classes. Both Audrey and Lauren have been my most recent ballet teachers. They were both wonderful and I learned so much from them. My tap teachers, Sara and Connie are also the best. Finally, I am also enrolled in the Pilates class which equally awesome. Every single class that the studio offers is truly a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it without reservation to every one.
