It is a nice place but I was disappointed when I ask did they have a steam sauna and at this particular time, they don't in January of next year they should have it. so I think I will wait but they have everything else very impressive gym. but Taylor recreation gym has everything, I need aswell and for three times cheaper and they a sauna .

On September 28th around 5pm pm I was with my son's in the Aquatic area while my sons were swimming. A very rudely unprofessional life guard approach me and she started talking to me in a demeaning matter as if I was a dumb child. In order to remain calmly I walked away. After 15 minutes I called her out of the aquatic room to explain how rude she was to speak to me in that matter, she return speaking to me the very same way and tried to act like I was the person speaking wrongly. After she refused to acknowledge her behavior I told her to not speak to me. After I walk away from her she continues talking rudely to me and even had the nerve to tell me that she own the place and will keep me out. I later found out that she harass my boys telling them the same things. It took everything inside of me to remain calm. This person show be terminated and I will be speaking with the General Manager.

Today I witnessed staff be rude to children and the DMC Physical Therapy Patients. I saw a lady let 3 young teens pay to enter with cash and didn’t give a receipt. Then to tell them their parents didn’t sign a waiver. When the children asked how’d they pay, they all said cash which I witnessed. Then the lady proceeds to say well we don’t have a record or anything to prove it. Then a Physical Therapy patient whom I overheard tell them she has a driver and someone who’s with her all the time and she’s been coming here for thereapy over the past 3 year, told her well anytime anyone passes this desk it’s $15. She asked for a manager and the guy pointed to another guy. So she said who is everyone’s boss? I need to speak to the one over everyone here and all the staff just turned their backs like this lady wasn’t even there. I mean seriously. All were rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. I hope DMC pull their contract out of this building because I’ve heard and witness the same action already 2 times this week. They all have smart mouths and need some common customer service training ASAP. IF THEY DON’T LIKE A JOB DEALING WITH PEOPLE. THEY SHOULD EXIT LEFT. I AM TAGGING THE NEWS AND LOCAL PAPER.

Planned to host my son birthday party. Scheduled online in advance for 2 months. Called every so often cause I was told pool was close for repair. The fine. Pool opened up for members only for a week or 2 before my son’s birthday party on July 12th. Got called on Tuesday to tell me I’m approved for the room rental on that day at 1:30-3:30. Was pleased to hear they could pull the money on next day cause that’s when I was paid. I even called back shortly after to confirm the time.

Everything went well on day of party til around time for cake when a worker came in asking if I was getting ready to end the party around 2:40. I told worker that I was told I had the room from 1:30 to 3:30. Worker went back to the manager I assume. Cause the manager came back to the room and announced to me and the room that “your contract says 1:00 to 3:00.” Instead of pulling just me aside and talking about it privately. Embarrassing to say the least. Anyway I went to counter to ask to see the contract and told them that they need to send a email cause I called twice to confirm the time. They just told me “idk who would tell you that”. I suspect they double booked the room and changed the time on the “contract” to save face.

In conclusion. Be aware when you spend money here for a party room and make sure you get a confirmation email. Cause these folks don’t know how to organize themselves.

Since they wanted to publicly embarrass me in front of my guest and family about the rental time. They get this embarrassing review of their unprofessionalism and incompetence. Won’t be spending any more of my hard earned money here ever again!

I have a membership there for hydrotherapy. When the pool is down it's DOWN FOR MONTHS REGULARLY! Then I'm stuck barely able to walk. Has been in steady decline. Used to be a nice place. "Used to". being key. I do not recommend. Young men thinking it ok to be in a woman's locker room because their "mom" says it's ok? Creepers in the family locker room? Painting over rusty structures instead of fixing? AND no therapy for months at a time? Big NO for me, and shame on you for taking money from folks and NOT providing services, not even decent desk service anymore. If I took money from someone and not given what they paid for, that's called theft, and I'd be held accountable. Where is the accountability with the city of Romulus and this joke of a "gym"?

Used to love this place, I was a kid when they first opened and it was on of the best indoor pools around. Now the kids swimming area is a disaster & unsafe. The equipment is rusted, the platform with the bucket attached to it is also in bad shape and starts to sink / bend when walking on it. It’s never on & to have to pay 15$ for a 3 year old to NOT be able to play in the kids area (whole reason for going) because the kids area “doesn’t work” per the life guards. Needs some serious updating before they end up with a lawsuit.

I've been a member at this club for many years. It started out nice, with nice people and management. It has gone downhill and is really in need of a major overhaul from the ground up. The facility is severely lacking, and the pool area is closed constantly for repairs, so if you are thinking of joining for the aquatics, you might want to look somewhere else. The management could also use some training, or replacement. My locker rental expired (still in question but neither here nor there at this point), and the club not only cut my lock off, while I was still a member in good standing, but proceeded to throw ALL of my belongings in the trash. Not an email, nor a phone call to their member to give me a heads up, or I would have gladly paid for another year on my locker. It honestly took them a lot more time and effort to do what they did. Tried to contact the regional manager (Louis Lombardo), and he directed me to the assistant manager (Danielle Wright). This wouldn't have been a problem, however she was no help at all and was actually quite insulting. Tried calling the Mr. Lombardo again and he (for the second time) refused to return my call. I took my money somewhere else.

Called to let me know the pool was closed at 9AM and I could wait for an update at 11-11:30 or cancel, for a 1 o clock party. I said I’d wait. Never was I told about $100 fee for waiting for that call. The call also didn’t come by 11:30. So the rude lady named Tennille wanted to just be sassy and right on the phone and not try and rectify the situation. You should learn ethical business practices before you run things. As a business owner I would never charge someone a cancellation fee in this way, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR POOLS BROKEN DOWN MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUES RECENTLY. People need notice to cancel a 7 year olds birthday. All I can say is, WOW. Took my kids to a birthday party here, and couldn’t believe the lack of safety in the pool area. There were two parties going in, with a ton of kids at each. I can honestly say I’ve never seen the pool area so busy. Everyone was having fun, that’s not the problem here. The problem is the lack of lifeguards on deck. They had two lifeguards to watch the whole area. One had to watch the lazy river, and the big slide at the same time. I’m pretty sure that state law says there also has to be a lifeguard at the top of the slide, as well as at the bottom. They closed the slide, and went down to only one lifeguard watching the entire pool room. That means one person watching the lazy river, zero entry, hot tub, and lap pool. There were at least 150 people between all of these areas. We have hosted 10 parties here, and always had a great time, and absolutely no safety concerns. It’s my understanding that right after the last party we had last year, this establishment changed all of the management. What a mistake! We will never have another party here, and hope anyone who is thinking of a party comes to check out the lack of lifeguards before inviting children to such a dangerous environment.

If you’re planning a child’s birthday party here DONT DO IT!!!

I paid in full for my 2 year olds birthday only for them to call me 2 hours before the party to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. Now I may have not been as upset as I was when they called if 1. The employee who reached out didn’t LAUGHED and thought it was funny to cance the party and 2. Be told multiple different reasons it was cancelled as one of the reason was that they came in to the “issue” when they came in that morning(8am I asked) but didn’t contact me to cancel until 3-4 hours later? How is that good business? So after being laughed at and lied to I told them I wanted to speak to whose ever was In charge they continued the to tell me the person in charge was driving and would contact me in a couple days. It has now been 1 month and I have YET to be contacted . I had 4 Trays of party subs, a cake, sides and drinks that were all premade and paid for wasted due to their incompetence. I had family in from out of state and others who traveled more than a couple hours to be here and I had to cancel with a 2 hour notice, 2 weeks before Christmas? Such a professional thing to do to a paying customer. From the looks of the reviews I am not the only person they have done this to. Get it together!!!!

Will not be going here for drop-in pickleball anymore since they've TRIPLED the price!!! Now it's going to be $15, when it used to be $5. Apparently the price includes a day pass for the whole facility, but I'm already spending 3 hours there playing pickleball...you think I want to spend half my day at the gym just to get my money's worth? So greedy! On top of that, they told my parents, who have a prepaid punch card for pickleball which originally had no expiration date, that now it will only be good until the end of September. Will not be returning here for pickleball or any other activities. A lot of the people who play pickleball here are retired and will probably not be able to afford it here anymore. Shameful!!!

I come here 3-4 days a week.
I love that I can bring my family or put the kids in a "daycare" setting. Granted it has very limited hours to do so.
The pool area is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS due to how slippery it is. And even walking on it poses a fall risk.

So clean and friendly. The amenities are great. Just wish the "family changing room" was bigger or more specific to families. I took my kiddo and while they were in the pool they had to go to the restroom... All of the family stalls were taken (noticably there was only one other family with a kid) and my kiddo needed a changing table. We had to hover over the normal restroom toilet far away from our diapers or belongings in the family changing room. Disappointed that single adults can't respectfully use their dedicated changing areas.

So this place used to be great. Now, on top of the prices you pay to get in, the hot tub nor the slide are hardly ever open. I even called to ask if I could sit in the pool area to accompany my children without swimming and the woman told me feel free to sit in the lobby, that I had to pay $15 to just sit in the pool area. If I could give this place a 0 I could,
I started coming to the rec center 6 years ago and I loved it at first but now it’s pretty much a dumpster fire. I paid for a yearly locker, just to have my lock cut and all my stuff thrown away. I’ve also had problems with people stealing my belongings even in the pool deck while I’m swimming (there are cameras and even the front desk refused to help me). There is a problem with the ventilation system so there is clearly mold and rust on all the vents in all of the locker rooms. just a heads up, you’re breathing that in. I witnessed a man full on beating his child with a pool cone in front of the life guards, I asked if they are going to report him to the police, they said it wasn’t their problem.
Also beware because they like to trap you into yearly memberships when you pay monthly, oh and you can never cancel unless you have proof of a medical reason. Uncivil and money pinchers.

Pool, lazy river and hot tub were great . The girl I talked to at the desk was really nice and couldn’t ask for a better receptionist but the young girl with reddish brown hair that was a lifeguard with way too much makeup on had a major staring problem , everytime I glanced in her direction she kept staring me at me which is insanely rude . Me and my boyfriend where in the hot tub minding our own business I sat on his lap and gave him a couple smooches in a playful way .. nothing way too provocative or anything remotely sexual and the one chick in the office inside the pool era decided to walk over and completely embarrass me telling us very loudly that there is no PDA and children where around making me feel uncomfortable and a little bit like I was being watched the whole time after , which when you have social anxiety anyway , make the swimming experience a lot less enjoyable .Later my boyfriend and I saw multiple couples lovingly swimming with one another . I don’t know, it seemed pretty rude that out of all the couple there they decided to pick on us .

I've been going here about 12 years, almost since they opened. People who are giving a one star based on one bad staff experience ? I can't agree. Everyone is always friendly to me and very personable.

Of course, things have changed since Covid. Materials take time. Staff is hard to find and occasionally inexperienced. I'm primarily a pool user so I will state the one thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars.

The women's locker room is dangerously slippery when there's tons of people. It's attractive flooring but not safe. There are no hand dryers or hair dryers, so you must lug sopping wet clothing and towels to your car.

That's it. That's my concern. Add rubber mats and 4 hand driers. Then it's an easy 5 stars.

I've only used the lazy river and the lap lanes. Lazy River water temp is 88 degrees. I can get a good workout since I'm 5 feet tall and the water in the lazy river comes up to my neck! I look forward to my exercise walking/swimming every day. I would say the majority of people are seniors getting their non-impact walking exercise in the lazy river.

This place is way over priced for how dirty the bathroom was. The lifeguards allow kids to dive head first and to be unsupervised. My daughter and I were in the hot tub while two other couples were allowing their kids to dive and dunk under. I am very clear with my daughter that this isn't allowed. She sat next to me patiently as a life guard came up and told her specifically not to dunk her head. Both women and I said she wasn't and he insisted she was. Never once did he correct the other families. Maybe because they were boys? We will not be returning and will be expecting a full refund.

The pool area is like a water park!!!!!! Super warm lazy river, water slide, HOT tub, lap pool, splash pad and more! The cafe has amazing food. Everyone is so nice and there is so much to do here. And our insurance helps pay for a part of the membership!

We were considering getting a membership here. However, every time we visit as a guest things are broken or closed and for months on end we are told "the parts are on order" and no parts ever come and things never get fixed. A good example is the kids play area in the pool. We've been told since Christmas they are waiting on parts and now it's March. Guess we'll spend the money we were going to use to become members somewhere else.

Kiddos love being here. My daughter oddly enjoys the jacuzzi. She also loves the lazy river. Well controlled. Was confusing about the fees, invited company as a resident (I was paying for all) was given different prices and feedback). Also, different areas of the pool is closed due to cleaning issues (according to patrons)

UPDATE: It appears they have the inside kids splash area a new coat of paint and upgrades. Nice work. This is a Super nice facility with everything you could think of for fitness. They have a wonderful cafe ran by a great friendly family with delicious selections. The only complaint is the kids inside and outside splash center needs a major overhaul. The equipment is very rusty, faded and worn down.

The young lady at the counter with braids is constantly giving me and my family a problem . I overheard her gossiping about my family’s presence there, saying “they are everywhere, we’ll we had a party there we paid , so why is our presence a problem. And one time she tried to make us pay money to get in the pool area but she didn’t even tell us it was closed because of an emergency, another employee and residents had to tell me, and then I seen the ambulance rushing back there, that was sneaky of her trying to get us to pay when she knew they were closed, we would’ve had to wait hours.
