I have been following Al for years now. His workouts are tough, fun and motivating! Heba and Ice are amazing. The gym is clean, functional and has everything you need for the best workouts on the planet. If you are ready to feel good, challenge yourself and have a blast doing it, this is the spot. If you are looking for good kickboxing workout Shut up and Train gym is for you. The instructions at this gym are not only highly skilled and knowledgeable in kickboxing, but they also incredibly passionate about teaching . They incorporate a perfect blend of cardio, strength and technique work, so you get a full-body workout every single time. Gym is super clean and well-maintained.

I started kickboxing at this club and I absolutely love it! The coaches are very motivating and take the time to explain everything clearly, which makes it great for beginners. While I’m newer to this gym I have experience at three other gyms, training in group settings and think SUAT is the best gym I’ve worked out at. The workouts are intense but fun. The trainers Al and Heba are incredible, while they push you, they make sure you’re doing correct form and are safe. I have horrible knees and they both have been able to accommodate that without diminishing the quality of workouts. The vibe of the gym is welcoming, supportive, and super fun!

The gym is well-maintained, and the trainers are outstanding, paying close attention to technique, form, and functional strength, so you move better both in and out of the gym. It’s a welcoming, not intimidating environment, but don’t mistake that for easy. If you’re ready to put in the work and see real progress, this is the place. The monthly membership is 100% worth it; the pricing is very reasonable for the coaching and classes you get, and you won’t find a better deal for this level of expertise anywhere in Metro Detroit.

Heba is an amazing personal trainer! She’s extremely knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely cares about helping her clients reach their goals. I’ve never been a gym person…I’ve actually always hated working out. But I’ve been consistently training with Heba for four years now, and that says everything.
Heba is not your average trainer. She doesn’t believe in one-size-fits-all workouts because she truly understands that every body is different. Every session is customized based on your needs, your goals, and most importantly, your proportions. She knows how to target exactly the right areas so your body transforms in a balanced, natural, and proportionate way.
She listens. She pays attention. And she pushes you, without ever making it feel impossible.

An Unforgettable Experience at Shut and Train Gym
Walking into Shut and Train Gym, I immediately felt welcomed and supported.
The staff’s energy and positivity set the tone for an incredible workout.
I trained with Kurt Carlos, who was amazing.
His knowledge and guidance stood out as he made sure every movement had purpose and flow.
As a beginner to boxing, he took the time to teach me the basics, from wrapping my hands to proper punches and footwork.
The workout was well-structured, starting with a warm-up, moving into high energy boxing, targeted weight training, and ending with restorative stretches.
The music was perfectly synced to each part of the session, making the entire experience engaging and motivating.
This gym isn’t just about fitness; it’s about community and care. I left feeling stronger, more inspired and I can’t wait to go back.

I had the privilege of taking the Boxing “Let’s Flow” class with Kurt Carlos. He’s an exceptional trainer with a super hero physique to validate his unique high energy program. He’s a perfectionist and prides himself on teaching with good technique. Kurt makes training hard fun with music and works out your entire body with basic boxing skills, stretching, and creative weight techniques which FLOW from one muscle to another. I have years of boxing/martial arts training. He’s the real deal! He’s passionate, knowledgeable, humble and teaches you from his heart. I can’t recommend him enough! You’ll leave saying- WOW!!!
