This is by far my favorite location! I love how chill the atmosphere is. No one pays attention to what you’re doing. So if you’re intimidated to go to this gym don’t be! It’s open 24/7 and you can’t beat that! I was nervous at first but it eventually felt like my second home. And the owner is extremely kind! If I ever have questions about renewing my membership or anything else, I can easily message the owner and get a responsive reply.

Side note: I have been an on and off again member for 7ish years. I always go back to the gym because it feels like home and I’m comfortable. Other gyms can’t do that around here.

I knew I should have reported this gym when a nice was found in the middle of the gym floor. Owner continues to charge me even though I’ve told him for months I do not use the gym anymore. I explained that I have a disabled son I care for and cannot use the gym anymore. Random worker called me threatening me with a lawsuit stating I owed $1400 when I haven’t utilized the gym in months. Shame on you. If you out that much energy in being predatory you can put that same energy into making money another way. Trapping people on a contract even when they don’t use the gym is insane. You cannot force me to use your gym. I would have had no problem signing back up in the future but I will never give me business to a gym like this. I have had my sister and husband sign up and they will both be canceling the contracts. It’s a shame the things people do for money.

No one works here so there’s no rules. No one’s racking their weights, people are listening to their music without headphones and having conversations on speakerphone.
Today someone is singing as they just pace around the silent gym.
Sometimes the ID scannner doesn’t work so you just have to wait until the next day when it gets fixed.
They’ve updated a lot of the machines since I joined but the treadmills are sketchy at best. The 30 min limit is a safety warning more than anything.

It is a good neighborhood gym - I wish they add shoulder dip machine to their collection. I also wish they have firm dumbbells (most of the dumbbells there are loose and noisy when used). The atmosphere in the gym is very serene and clean. It is a nice place to visit.

They kept playing “Cotton Eyed Joe” every time I went here to do my sets. It’s a good song, but come on. Following the owner’s instructions I was told that I need to lift “my dad over my head” in order to make him proud. I thought that was weird, but I did it. When I read some of the reviews I was worried about the gym. I went anyways! Glad I did... the culture of the gum members is so welcoming, staff more than happy to help. The equipment is just fine. I have a trainer 2x a week. Was told exactly what my contract would be. Nothing dirty about it. Not super fancy; but!!!! That's why I like it. It's a nice place to workout. I recommend this place.

I’ve been a member for a few years and plan to continue my membership for years to come. I love that they are open 24/7 as this allows for a lot of flexibility in my hectic schedule. They have all the free weights and machines you could want for a full body workout.

Another aspect I enjoy is that they have multiple locations and your membership is good for all the locations. I typically use the downtown gym, but sometimes If I need to go grocery shopping I hit up the Gull Road gym because it’s right next to Meijer.

The staff is always courteous and helpful. The members are helpful and friendly as well. I’ve never had a problem asking someone for a spot or to watch my form.

Worst gym in the Kalamazoo area. I signed up for this membership 2.5 years ago because they were close and open 24 hours a day. I should have known better when the guy immediately wrote up a membership deal for me to pay $80 a month for one person with no extra benefits. When I said no, we haggled all the way down to $20 a month. After a few months of work not going one time, I decided to cancel my membership. When I walked in they told me that I had signed a 3 year contract, I remember signing, but was not told about the 3 years!

Today I went back in to cancel the membership again because I thought it has been close to the 3 years. In order to cancel today I had to pay 75% of the rest of my contract and a $50 “enhancement” fee because they haven’t gotten enough money yet from me.

Do not join this gym unless you want to regret it for the next 3 years, go to planet fitness or literally anywhere else.

Honestly, the cost is not worth the facilities. When I first activated my membership I was not explained that the money you pay up front is an "activation fee" in the amount of $100 in ADDITION to the outrageously high monthly price plus an extra charge every year for new equipment. Isn't that what your monthly payments are for?? Now I'm regretting my choice every day and wishing I had gone to a cheaper and better kept up gym. I got my membership because they had a really awesome Zumba, yoga instructor. The classes were awesome. Then they fired her. I continued to go for a short time but didn’t stay engaged like I would have if there was a class to attend. The only convenience is it’s open 24 hrs a day. They recently put in a locker room which is nice. Half of the equipment is broken or not functioning up to par. The staff is not polite. It’s not managed well and the facilities are dirty. The last time I was there, 2 months ago perhaps. I went to use the bathroom and the toilet was clogged. I had to leave and couldn’t even finish my workout. I can’t wait until my membership is over. I could have gotten a membership at a different gym for $10 a month where the equipment is well maintained. So disappointed.

The people who operate this gym and the quality of equipment are terrible. There are many better options to go to in Kalamazoo. This is what your gym experience will be like: it's always disgusting. From the equipment to the bathrooms. They hardly clean anything and they only half ass vacuum the back. They don't mop the floors or the mats. So much of their equipment is broken and doesn't get fixed for months. Parts are missing. They don't even have clips for all their machines. However Mark buys houses! They advertise having large amounts of cash but invest none of it back in. They keep trying to add DIY projects like the new locker rooms. Which are awful. There is no privacy or bathroom or bench and there is one shower with a see-through curtain. Everything about this gym is a joke. The paper towels, toilet paper, and gym towels are never stocked. The doors don't work half the time and there aren't night staff so you can't always get in. As with all the other user reviews: if you do end up going here never pay more than 20 and make them write you a way out of your contract. Like if you ever move. The Stadium Drive location is a bit better. Whoever manages that location appears to actually care a bit.

As membership rates vary from person to person, be sure not to sign up with the neither initial $40 rate, nor the "discounted" $30 rate. Aim for the $20 rate that some manage to get.

Good gym physically, the company they bill through is a nightmare, Paramount Acceptance. Google them for all of 3 seconds to found out all you need.

Again, I am not knocking the ACTUAL gym , the employees are very helpful but totally powerless., just the company that manages it. They cannot manage anything about your contract once you sign it. They cannot change the method of payment for your bill.

Good price: $20/month for a 3 year contract plus $50/year fee. Convenient location for me in Vine neighborhood, other gyms either far away or expensive or both. 24hrs is nice. I tried out this gym on a free 2 week trial. I managed to make it 5 days in and quit going. This place is disgusting and overpriced.

I do want to start by saying that the staff there seems very friendly and I only had good experiences with them. The gym on the other hand..

-dirty. The "stretching"mats, which were worn out yoga mats looked as if someone had walked over them with muddy feet years ago and were never cleaned off. The drinking fountain looked as it hadn't been wiped off since it was put in. The wall above the drinking fountain had some sort of juice (Gatorade maybe?) on it, which had obviously been there a while since there was hair and dust covering it.

-Lunks. Ok, this gym tells you from the start that they allow grunting, weight dropping, etc. but it's still just not my thing.

-Location. I tried out both locations, which were at least a 20 minute drive for me either way. The Gull Rd location forces you to turn (in my case, left) onto a very busy road next to an intersection and the W. Michigan location is located on a 1-way so you are forced to drive through neighborhoods to get back out to the main road.

-Price. With a 3 year agreement this place is $30 a month. 30 A MONTH! I wouldn't go to this ill kept establishment if it was free! Like I stated before, I didn't even make it a week into my free trial before going elsewhere. It was THAT bad.

-Old equipment. I prefer treadmills and they have all of 5 to chose from. The first one I used pulsed at low speeds and felt as if you were moving the machine manually. The second treadmill I used the speed function was all out of whack. I generally run at 5.5 miles an hour but the 5.5 on this particular machine was really about 3.0mph. Yes, I felt like a bad-ass running at "7.0mph" but I was really just cheating myself.

I just don't understand why anyone would pay to go to this gym. For $30-$50 there are a lot of better options out there.

They have all you could really ask for equipment wise and a great location next to WMU campus. The staff and trainers are very helpful as well. I would highly recommend this gym.

First thing that comes to mind when you enterBeyond Fitness, is the feel of a home gym. Safe environment friendly memebers and staff. I myself had no idea on how to workout properly, to achieve my goals, but the management at Beyond Fitness was more then willing to offer free advice, tips and instructions on how to become physically fit. Now after a mear month of casual attendance, i have lost over 35lbs and feel likenim making so much progress. Also for a student its not far from my home or campus.
