I am so grateful to have found the Tap Dance Detroit location in Keego Harbor! I always wanted to try tap dancing, and this was the perfect entryway for me, in an 'absolute beginner tap class'. Denise is an awesome teacher: inviting, encouraging, and always with a smile and a story to share! I especially love being able to ask her about her days as a Rockette, and also LOVE that she is familiar with the classic movies of the Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers (among many others) tap dancing era. Highly recommend this wonderful dance studio! Big thanks to Denise!!

If you are interested in learning to tap dance as an adult, this is the place to go! I tried 2 other places and really did not learn anything. Denise has a great instructional program and really breaks down the steps and then builds on them. It is great that each session is only 6 weeks and you can repeat a level or move up at your own pace.

I took the Absolute Beginner tap course and had such a fun time! Denise is a pro and I felt like she was able to pay attention to all of us while teaching the full class. Would definitely recommend for anyone interested in getting into tap dancing!

The kids classes at Tap Dance Detroit are top notch! Miss Denise is clearly passionate about making dance fun, inclusive and accessible for all ages and experience levels- what really impressed me is that while clearly having a blast the kids are learning “real dance” technique and terminology! The classes run in two month sessions, making it great for kids who may want to try out other styles or activities and are small in size so everyone gets ample attention. My daughter (4) has tried tap, ballet & hip hop jazz and loved them all- in fact, because of a schedule conflict we tried dancing at another studio but my daughter missed Miss Denise and the studio so much that we quickly came back!

Love this place! Top notch tap instruction from professional dancers who are also excellent teachers. Everything from absolute beginners to experienced dancers. Loads of adult dancers like me. The tap classes here are excellent! They are drop in, so no long term commitment if you have a busy schedule. You can attend the appropriate level for you based on your own experience. All steps are taught and explained thoroughly and the instructor is patient. The atmosphere is very welcoming and judgment free. Definitely check them out if you're an adult tapper at any level.

Great dance studio! Denise is a wonderful teacher for both children and adults, patiently challenging her students to do more than they think they can. Lots of performance opportunities. I’m an old guy with a hobby, but I’ve watched her develop talented children to excel in competitions. Fabulous dancer herself!

This is a warm, welcoming studio and Denise is a wonderful instructor. My daughter started beginner tap a year and a half ago, since then she has really progressed and looks forward to dance every week. They offer tap, jazz, and ballet classes for adults as well, all levels. We feel lucky to have them in the area!

I am a 70 year old man who has never tap danced before. Granted, it has been a lifelong dream, but no experience. Just completed my first six week beginner tap class. Signed on for more. Denise is a great teacher. She breaks it down to make it doable and she is very encouraging. I have learned a lot and will continue and I completely recommend her and her Tap Dance Detroit company to all, young and old.

Tap Dance Detroit is awesome - a great studio space with awesome teachers. They offer classes for both kids and adults. I was super excited to see the studio open because I feel like there are not enough dance classes available to adults in the area - here you can take tap, Broadway tap, jazz, and more, regardless of your skill level. The teachers are great and the space is great, and the prices are competitive with any fitness class in the area. They also offer studio space for rent and lots of cool special workshops and events.

Tap Dance Detroit is a wonderful organization with phenomenal instructors. It is inclusive and welcoming of all levels.

If you've never tapped, haven't tapped in twenty years, or have never stopped tapping, this is the place to be.

I only wish it had been around fifteen years ago.
