Dishonest and Unprofessional Cancellation Practices

I’m extremely disappointed with Edge Fitness and their shady cancellation process. I reached out to cancel my membership, and instead of handling it professionally, they refused to cancel unless I provided a “valid reason.” This is completely unacceptable and feels like a tactic to pressure people into staying. A customer should never have to justify why they want to end a membership they pay for.

All I wanted was a simple cancellation, and instead I was met with delays, excuses, and unprofessional behavior. If this is how they treat members who want to leave, I can only imagine what other problems they hide behind the scenes.

I can’t recommend Edge Fitness to anyone. Be careful before signing up — their business practices are not transparent, and getting out is way harder than it should be. 🛑 Not worth the headache.

When I first started at this gym, it was OK. It was just opening and it was 24 hours 4 to 5 days out of the week. This was four years ago almost shortly after that they stopped the 24 hours and the only reason I left the previous gym is for 24 hour gym access. They have some type of forgiveness program where when you try to cancel your plan they’re going to tell you that your account has been sent to collections for as little as $40 knowing that people don’t want to have that on their credit and then they’re going to try to get you to sign up for another two year plan. They got me with that once already they are trying to virtually make it impossible to cancel your plan even when you go about it all the right ways I had to have this gym membership for four years. The people are not pleasant and the company is itself are scam artist I wouldn’t suggest this Jim to anyone when it comes to try to stop your gym membership. They are just as bad as LA fitness if not worse

My husband and I both signed up for the free trial as we’re looking around before choosing a gym. When we went to get checked in for the free trial, the employee asked if either of us had been here before. I said I haven’t, and my husband said he had visited before but didn’t have a free trial or membership. The employee immediately told my husband that he wasn’t even eligible for the free trial because of that. And following this the employee sat us down and still tried to sell us a membership. Will not be returning.

I am very disappointed. We started our membership last year. When we stop to visit gym after 5-6 months I called them and asked to cancel membership and stop charging me. They told me I have 12 months agreement and still need to pay them. I agreed that. After 12 months I was wondered because they charged me again, for month 13. When I called them they told me my membership still active. It’s unbelievable. I called them 6 months ago to cancel my membership they charged me for nothing and my membership still not cancelled. If you don’t pay attention they’ll charge you forever!! “Nice” customer oriented approach. Never visit them again!

The Edge Fitness is a nice place to workout. They have treadmills, rowing machines, elliptical machines, and more! If you want to workout your body from head to toe it's the place to go! I just wish they stayed open later on Fri & Sat at least till 9 p.m. Other than that it's a great place to workout. 🥰 👍🏽

The staff are nice, but it is just unfortunate that the prices have suddenly increased. I was on the $9.99 one for 5 years and was there right when it opened. Even one of the first 50 people to join and even signed the big board. However, now that the prices have increased and the yearly is also increased, it sucks that me being a dedicated Edge member has to quit because of the price increase.

The gym is okay. The big complaint I have is the hidden fees associated with the contract should be mentioned up front. There is written 30 day cancelation policy after you've been locked in for a year and if you don't cancel the month your year is up, you will have to pay your last month and the 60 "annual membership fee". I wrote my letter to cancel on May 6th and was told my member ship will remain active until the end of June and I had to pay the annual membership fee for a gym I'm not going to be a part of for the next year. It cost me 150 to cancel my membership with them. Customer service refused to work with me on this. Very disappointing

I have been a member of this gym for a few years now. The amount of equipment and machines is perfect in my opinion. The staff makes this place just run! I have had many good conversations with DAWN who is always smiling and cheerful and always remembers that I bring my teenage son at night and teases me when I come during the day about where he is! She is professional and helpful yet very personable. The EDGE is by far the most beautiful gym in the area! Unlike “Crunch” and “Planet Fitness,” the EDGE offers a very personal, high quality experience. The gym is very clean, new equipment, and a WONDERFUL STAFF! I don’t go to Edge Fitness often, but every time I do, the staff is friendly and helpful. The one person who really stood out was Cody. He’s super chill and professional, and he made me feel familiar with the place right away. You can tell he genuinely cares, like I saw him checking in on other people, offering help, and just being kind without overdoing it. People like him are the reason why I do go back.

I have been to this Edge Fitness numerous times. Dawn McLean, front counter person, always says hi. When she is not helping her customers, and I mean her customer's because I've heard people request Dawn specifically to help them, with protien shakes or other merchandise. When she is not busy at the front counter I see her walking around the gym and talking to the members, Dawn never seems to show down. Dawn is awesome!!!

Excellent gym. Any time I have had an issue Danna has helped professionally. She is always welcoming and friendly . Very knowledgeable. To add the LM Pilates classes are on point and a welcome change from the strength and development classes. Having 930 spin classes instead of 1030 would be another positive change.
