Traveling in the area and I did the one-time drop in for Hot Vinyasa at the Campus location right after getting off the plane. It was challenging, but exactly what I needed to refresh and reset after traveling.

It was my first time in a free flow class, but Rachel was very accommodating and made it easy for me. I will definitely drop in again next time I am in town!

The short form Ashtanga with Risa was an incredibly demanding but rewarding class. Never have I learned and grown so much in an hour of yoga. She is truly a master of her craft. Come ready to sweat and learn more about the asanas and your own physical and mental edges!

Tiny Buddha Yoga is the best studio in Ann Arbor for a reason. It’s a great space for both beginners and seasoned yogi — the teachers are welcoming and committed to their students’ growth, body and mind. Each class has a different vibe but they are all geared to create space for oneself. There’s always something new to learn! Teachers will explain the purpose and mechanics of poses throughout class and focus particularly on the connection of breath to body movement, so that the physical exercise is always meditative. Overall, highly recommend!

This studio is *top notch* -- every single instructor brings their own energy into the class and I enjoy learning from each one of them. The studio is clean, welcoming, warm (literally and figuratively), and inclusive. I have appreciated growing my yoga practice at Tiny Buddha so much. My body and soul both take the toll when I stay away for too long. Risa and her team of fantastic teachers have really built something special and I am grateful to be a part of the community.

TBY is fabulous! The space is lovely and the teachers skillfully bring their own unique style to each class. I feel comfortable and supported practicing here regardless of what I'm bringing to the mat on any given day.

Tiny Buddha Yoga truly is a yoga home. The vibe of the studio paired with the strong community of students and teachers make you feel supported in each step of your yoga journey. Each teacher brings their own creativity to their classes with original flows and playlists, & I cannot say enough praise the teachers. If you’ve been looking for a place in Ann Arbor to practice - this is the one.

I love practicing at Tiny Buddha Yoga! I was new to yoga when I took my first class here and was welcomed by all teachers while trying the variety of class types. The teachers care about each practitioner by giving cues and adjustments appropriate for the individual. Everyone in the TBY community is so friendly, the studio spaces are warm and inviting, and the yoga is always what my mind and body need!

Go to TBY. You won’t regret it. The space is beautiful, the temperature is perfect (warm enough to get a real sweat on but not pass-out hot), and the teachers and other students are friendly and welcoming. Risa’s classes are so well structured and she knows how to challenge you, get you out of your own head, and somehow always themes the class as if she knows exactly what you need to hear. And the music always hits at just the right moment. Somehow TBY is both my happy place and the place that forces me to get real with myself. It’s truly a one of a kind, special yoga studio.

This studio is the best. I took my first class in 2021 with the intention of trying something new (never having done yoga before!!!)- and I was instantly hooked. I've been practicing yoga at TBY for almost 3 years now and it has had the most profound positive impact on my body, my mind, and my life.

The teachers at this studio are knowledgable and welcoming, the space is safe and inviting, and the community is so supportive and wonderful to be apart of. A wide variety of yoga classes are offered here, ranging from relaxing/restorative yin to suuuuper sweaty hot vinyasa - I love them all. In each class, yogis are encouraged to move in a way that serves them, only to do what feels right for your own body. The classes are taught in a way that anybody, whether you are a first-time practitioner or highly experienced yogi, will benefit.

I also participated in yoga teacher training at TBY. This helped me really deepen my understanding of the practice - only making me fall more in love with yoga and the community at TBY.

Tiny buddha is so special to me ❤️ I highly recommend taking a class here if given the opportunity!!!

I love practicing in this space! The studio is beautiful and calming. All classes are alignment based. Students are always encouraged to listen to their bodies and do what feels safe and right for them. This studio is great for both beginning yogis and those more experienced!

One of the most beautiful studios I’ve ever been in. The vibes create a sacred space for practice. The classes are intense & oh so rewarding! I highly recommend checking this space out whether you’re brand new to yoga or have been practicing your whole life.

I once rated this studio 5 stars, but things have changed. I had a really horrible experience with the owner Risa who took one look at me before my first Ashtanga class and said “I don’t think you know what you’re getting yourself into.” And “What are your intentions? This class has a requirement of coming a certain number of days a week.” and”this class isn’t for beginners”. To put this and other comments in context, I am a plus sized woman who has been practicing yoga for years and at the time really wanted to clean up my form/get into a daily routine.

Risa assumed (presumably by looking at my large body) that I was a beginner in yoga. Though the class says “all levels welcome” she made sure to clarify that the description was wrong. After she discouraged me for 20+ minutes I insisted I take the class, but wasn’t able to let go of the negative feelings I had coming into it. I came to the class a few more times and tried to give it a fair chance. Overall the energy was negative and elitist. The corrections to my form were great, but the purpose of doing yoga over other forms of exercise was not fulfilled.

This morning I signed up for a class through MINDBODY (signed up at 8:22 for a 9:00 class) but never received the email link to attend the online class. I think the good experiences I had with Sylvie and Matt kept me coming, but ultimately I have ended my membership because I feel discouraged from practicing.

I had hesitated to leave this review because I thought my experience could change for the better. It never did. I now feel that I should warn other large bodied students of yoga to look elsewhere. Though there are a few teachers who give modifications it is NOT the majority of them.

Phenomenal yoga studio. Teachers give thoughtful adjustments, options, and have something for everybody.

It’s a great location and there are some great teachers, but one of the main teachers they currently have at the campus location, Matt, yells and swears like a drill sergeant. Never seen anything like that in any yoga studio - who cues shavasana with f-bombs? It was so ridiculous it was almost funny, but it’s definitely not the yoga experience I am looking for. Not coming back until I can be sure I don’t accidentally end up with him subbing.
