The Labs vibe is very welcoming, non intimidating and a positive gym to train at. Taiwan is very motivating, easy to work with and always smiling which is refreshing. This is hands down the best gym!! I train with TJ and he’s very kind, professional, and an overall great trainer. You can tell he really cares about his clients and pushes them to be the best. I’ve been working out at Transformation Lab Private Gym for a while now, and I can’t recommend it enough! The atmosphere is super motivating, and it’s a great place to push yourself and see real progress.

This is hands down the best gym I’ve ever been a member of. My trainer, Taiwan, is incredible and has been an integral part of my fitness journey. All of the trainers here are amazing and make everyone feel welcome. This is a straight to the point, no fluff gym. Whether you’re a beginner like myself, or a professional athlete, this is the spot. If you’re looking for a trainer led gym, look no further. They offer boxing classes as well, and often collaborate with other fitness teams to introduce clients to new things such as post-workout recovery, mobility, etc.. For the first time in my life, I actually look forward to going to the gym. I’m seeing results I haven’t seen from any other program and the team here at the Lab is to thank for that.

I was really excited to have a trainer and take my workouts to the next level. I had already been going to the gym but needed more personalized routines to reach my fitness goals. I started working with Maya in the hopes of achieving them. The first session was just a check in to see where I was at, and we were in agreement that I was doing great with weight training but needed more help with cardio. Second session went fine as well.

The 3rd session is when things went downhill. As soon as I walked in that day, I notified Maya that I was experiencing some lower back pain. It is protocol to let your trainer know what your current condition is so that they can help address your concerns. Workouts are adjusted so that the problem area is either avoided, OR you concentrate on working out that muscle group to help stretch it out. That didn't happen during my session with Maya.

It was very clear from that point that she was not going to make any adjustments to any of the routines she already had planned for the day. She proceeded to make me push through my pain and do the routine she had planned. I notified her multiple times that it wasn't a workout burn I was feeling. I had to pause multiple times during the sets because of how severe the pain became.

She then proceeded to tell me that I was wasting her time and "complaining" when I mentioned about the lower back pain I was experiencing, and that she couldn't do her job if I was complaining about pain. I want to point out, a GOOD trainer knows how to address injuries and adjust workouts accordingly.

I consulted with friends who have been with trainers for years and they all advised that I drop her immediately because it was a strong indicator that she was not qualified nor experienced enough to cater workouts to individual clients. I also want to mention, she did not know why compression sleeves are used. These are all major red flags for someone who is trying to make a career of being a personal trainer.

I loved my experience at the lab, I worked out with Channtall and she is AMAZING!!!!! She really wants you to reach your goals just as bad as you do and she cares so much about everyone that she trains. Her energy alone will motivate you to workout. I started training with Channtall in January and it was the first leap my confidence needed. She has helped me feel comfortable working out and be more familiar now with different ways to work my body. She helps all of her clients by providing a designated meal plan specified for their weight goals. Going to the gym hasn’t been just going to see my trainer but you really gain a friend with Channtall and she makes coming to the gym pleasant. I signed up for the 3 month program with personal trainer Lindsay and it has been a phenomenal experience so far. I’m only half way through and I’m noticing a difference in my appearance already. It’s uncommon to leave there without dripping in sweat. I've lost weight and inches, I can literally see my muscles have more definition. I started by signing up for a 3 month program with my trainer Maya and shortly after extended my agreement to a year. She has helped me physically and mentally learn to love working out. I suffered from extreme gym anxiety where I was a cardio on the treadmill only type of person if I could get myself to go because I couldn’t get myself to try new things.

I have been in the fitness industry for 16 years. I have worked with multiple personal trainers throughout my time. I started working out with Maya about 1 year ago. She transformed my body more than any other trainer. When she began at transformation lab, I followed her there, but at the same time, I lost my babysitter. Taiwan was gracious enough to let me bring my daughter to the gym with me so I would not have to fall out of my routine until I found a babysitter.

If I ever have an issue with a workout, she always adjusts my workout to make sure I am comfortable. One major key for me, is a trainer that focuses on FORM. Having good form is very important while working out to refrain from injuries. Maya always makes sure to correct my form and show me the right way to complete an exercise.

I highly recommend Maya as a trainer to anyone looking for motivation, someone who can push you, and is very knowledgable about personal training/working out.

Pros: everyone is there to kick butt and get in shape/stay in shape, energy is amazing and so motivational. Cons: you get so sore, you can barely walk! But it feels so good! Best gym I've ever been a part of in all the 25 years I've been going to them. TJ, Justin, and their team are serious athletes and trainers who have worked elsewhere and now joined forces to build the gym of their dreams. This allows them to experiment in ways the chain gyms can't--whether by hosting charity boxing events, or subletting space to an IV drip clinic, or trying new equipment like an IR sauna. Their pride in the business they are building is contagious and shows every day.

Where do I start, this gym is what I think about when I think of the perfect gym. It started with the location...and It quickly moved to the awesome energy and knowledge that you get from the trainers here, they are eager to help and will take time with you. TJ is the man!! He will understand what you are striving for and he WILL get you there and further, while having fun. The sessions are intense and you will love the diverse workout combinations. If you're searching for positive motivation, no body shaming, encouragement?! Then look no further, the transformation lab in Sterling Heights has done wonders in the last 3 weeks. I'm sweating more in 15 minutes then I will in two hours working out by myself. I'm finding muscles I never knew I had. Taiwan definitely definitely has the best encouragement to keep me hard-working and dedicated. By far the cleanest & most welcoming gym I have ever been to! No other gym around compares to the Transformation Lab. The overall vibes are something you can’t find anywhere else. If your reading these reviews don’t believe Anthony’s comment, because Transformation Lab doesn’t open until October 16th. And myself, along with many others are exited for this gym to be open to the public. Personally i’ve worked with TJ, but I know how these trainers work. Not only do they push you, they want you to feel comfortable under your own skin and want you to feel happy with your results. If you want to Transform your body, or even maintain a healthy lifestyle.. this is the gym for you. I know this gym will have an Amazing environment, Excellent Sanitary and cleaning, and the best equipment. This gym will have the best gym community! I’m exited to finally get to go to the best gym in the City💪🏼
