Coach Sammie is the best! She is my daughter’s gymnastics and swim coach. She instills confidence, very patient and kind. As parents, she’s exactly what we are looking for in a coach for our kids :)

Hosted a birthday party here and it went great! I would recommend 3 hours instead of 2 bc the kids really wanted to play a little more after food/cake. But nonetheless the staff and venue were great!

We started at Troy Gym for open gym and gymnastics (Our daughter loved Coach Kylie). We moved her over to the swim program and have watched her become a confident swimmer thanks to Coach Sammie! Coach Sammie truly cares and nurtures every kid that she coaches. It’s clear she loves what she does and it’s the main reason we have continued with lessons- our 6 year old is doing the back stroke, freestyle and swimming underwater.

I’m very cautious about giving any sort of negative reviews but it is necessary given the experience we had so that others become aware too. We took our daughter for a swim assessment. The instructor - Sammy was extremely arrogant and unfriendly. She had no courtesy to give any sort of feedback after the assessment, just mentioned the swim level and walked away. Right from the get go she was not welcoming and rude. We are glad we decided to go for an assessment and did not enroll our daughter outright. May be there are other instructors who are good but our experience with her was terrible. I would never sign up my kid there.

Море удовольствия. Никто не хотел уходить. Очень заботливый, доброжелательный, терпеливый к детям персонал. Башня, с которой прыгают в мягкие кубики- это нечто! Родителям надо быть начеку постоянно. Дети прыгают со всех окон. Спасибо за это место!

I transferred my 4 year old from Aqua Tots to Troy Gym for swimming lessons and I’m pretty happy with the decision.

It’s less… I don’t know, corporate? It’s a local business and you can tell. Whereas Aqua Tots felt like it had a rigid curriculum designed to generate revenue and frustrate its own instructors, the Troy Gym instructors (especially Coach Sammi) have flexibility to adapt the lessons to the kids needs. Price is fair and I didn’t feel like they were pushy like the customer facing front desk team at Aqua Tots.

I recently had my 4 year old twins' birthday party here and was so impressed! We had been guests at a few parties here but this was our first hosting. We were blown away with the amazingly helpful staff! They helped us blow up balloons, hang decor, serve food, cut the cake, transport presents, and clean up the room after. It was so well run and organized, it made the day so easy for me! And the Troy gym owner even came to say hi during our party which was thoughtful. And all the kids had a blast! We did the munchkin rope course and the new ropes heaven and they were a big hit. Highly recommend for kids birthday parties!

Swim lessons were okay, but when we missed a class, they said "NO make-up days for missed classes!" while they had the same level of class repeatedly that week with open spots. Then, they said they could provide open gym once during the following 30 days /the following month, but they didn't have the schedule yet, asked us to check back. I checked again in a week, still no updated schedule online, so I went back to Troy Gym 4, they said "Just wait". Finally came the schedule, but the school already started for the fall semester and of course the open gym that they provided for makeup expired when we had the time.

I hate to leave such a terrible review, but after our experience I feel it’s necessary. We have been recent newcomers to Troy gym with our 3 year old (just turned 4) son. We love their open gym program for tots on Sunday’s and have been making the drive from Grosse Pointe to come almost every weekend. After such a great experience at their gym, I became intrigued with their swim program. I called and spoke with someone about the program, cost, etc, and reviewed in detail some of my sons biggest struggles (he is more reserved / shy, doesn’t like water being splashed in his face, definitely isn’t ready to go under, etc.) all common problems for a 4 year old. I specifically asked about these issues and if their program was suited for children with highly sensitive needs in these areas, or if I’d be better geared to look at private classes / sensory specific classes. The lady over the phone reassured me several times, that their instructors are fabulous and work with kids all the time like this. I felt super confident and signed him up.

We show up to our first swim lesson with Katina. I know most of these are college aged kids who are just trying to make some extra summer cash - so I’ll tread carefully with what I say here. 5 minutes go past his group swim time, and we’re still waiting in the lobby. After double checking with the front desk, Katina didn’t see him on her list. Ok no problem, she *slowly* meandered out to come and get our son. She apologized to us for missing him (again, no worries) but, she didn’t really say hi to him or interact with him whatsoever (remember, he’s 4, and he’s shy) not a great start :/ so at this point, he’s going from excited to becoming disengaged. She leads us to the showers.. no one told me showers were part of it. My 4 year old isn’t showering yet and, as mentioned, isn’t comfy with water in his face. So now he’s becoming afraid of what was supposed to be an exciting first day of swim class. She didn’t introduce him to the two other children in the class, she got in the pool and started paying attention to the two other kids and essentially ignored us from there on out, as we’re standing on the side of the pool like hello… what is happening here?! My husband and I said never mind, we knew this wasn’t the environment our son needed for swim.

My son didn’t even get in the pool, as the instructor was not guiding nor engaging with us whatsoever. I sent a decent email outlining basic concerns and asking if ownership could call me to speak further 1. For a refund of $100 as it was the biggest waste of our time and my son didn’t even dip his toes in the water and 2. To address some of our concerns on how we felt we were treated. Again, I am understanding that my son is 4 and is shy/nervous, and that these are young instructors. BUT, it deserved to be addressed. My email was not responded to. After a week, I sent a follow up email and was told I would not be receiving a refund (I’d have a credit on my account) and essentially that this is normal behavior.

Extremely disappointing response (or lack there of) as the owners couldn’t even be bothered enough to make a quick phone call to understand what went wrong, and maybe how to address it with their swim instructors moving forward?! Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Our family loves Troy Gym!!!
I am a sucker for locally owned and operated and it is with such care. It is a labor of love and you will regularly see the owner at the locations. It makes for such a better service with so many wonderful staff.
My kids love the pool and gym where they get to simply be kids no matter the weather. Climbing, swimming and most importantly playing. Learning their physical limits. We have yet to try the mini zip line but we need to!
I cannot recommend enough. However it can get busy on breaks and holidays.

We recently had a birthday party at TG4 and the party was really awesome! The kids had a lot of fun and the crew that was assigned to us did a wonderful job assisting. My children are ages 7, 10, and 11 and all three of them had a wonderful time. The adults that stayed at the party also commented on how pleased they were and how nice the party was. Everything was perfect! I would 100% recommend.

I like troy gym 4. It is convenient and my kid learn well there. It is only that they don't allow to make makeup class, you can only do open swim. which is a bit annoying. but they told me that because people switch around too much sth like that, so I understand they tried, so overall it is a warm nice place to learn swimming.

The swim facility is nice, as are the instructors, however, for the price and the short 30 min class duration, there is often tardiness in starting the sessions and downtime for the student swimmers. Hoping that changes, as we are longtime TG members and enjoy the vast array of activity offerings!

Great place if you want to get your kids some exercise. They have everything including a swimming pool. It's in multiple buildings in the same parking lot. They do parties, which we attended one. Very polite staff and helpful. And staff is everywhere keeping an eye on things. So you can feel safe. The only part I didn't like is the floor is turf and it has the tinny tire bits everywhere and your kids get covered in it.

We are SO happy with our experience at Troy Gym swim school. I started my three-year-old in the Babies class so that I could be in the water with him - he loved teacher Aly and learned so much. He really got comfortable in the water and learned basic swimming skills. He just started Preschool 1 with Caity without me in the pool and he absolutely loved it! Caity made him feel so comfortable - he had a blast and learned a lot! I look forward to continuing. Highly recommend!
