This gym is a mixed bag with good equipment but a distracting atmosphere with terrible etiquette.

The Atmosphere/Etiquette (The Bad):
• A Social Media/High School Gym: Expect to be in the background of the people trying to be the next social media stars that are taking pictures and videos on the gym floor. Guys walking around without shirts, girls bending over and/or lying on the floor to take pictures of themselves in the mirror on the floor even though there’s a dedicated posing room and changing rooms with mirrors. Music so loud you’ll hear it through your noise cancelling headphones.
• Poor Layout: In some areas the equipment is poorly spaced, making the area feel cramped. Paper towel dispensers aren’t often refilled, leaving nothing to wipe down equipment with. Trash cans are rarely emptied, leaving trash around them. There also aren't enough weight trees, or really any at all outside of the barbell area, so weights are often left on machines, the floor, or stacked incorrectly (like 45s in front of 10s).
• Awkward Sauna: The sauna is right on the gym floor, which means you either have to sweat through your workout clothes or awkwardly change inside the sauna itself.
• One Bathroom: There is only one bathroom for men and one for women and both of them are directly on the floor in front of equipment, making it awkward to go in and out.

The Equipment (The Good):
• Good Selection: They have a wide variety of equipment that you won't find at many other gyms for a lesser price point, though gyms of a similar price typically have similar equipment and more amenities.

Great equipment for a bodybuilder or even a power lifter. Clean facility, new equipment that most gyms don't have. Would have been better if they had more restrooms than one commode for the men and one for the women. Can't have a gym full of people and only one restroom. Plus people need to leave their clothes on. Men taking their shirt off is not everything that people want to see walking into a gym.

Love the equipment best I have ever used. Hands down elite facility. The saunas are always clean and kept up very well. Changing rooms and posing room is always clean!

My only issue is the cleaning products are not always stocked up and sometimes people clog the toilets and no plunger.

I can’t wait for them to open up the other side and get showers then the gym will basically have everything you need.

I’ve been coming to this gym since the day they opened, and it’s hands down one of the best fitness environments I’ve ever been a part of. The owner truly cares about the members and is constantly improving the gym, it honestly feels like Christmas every time you walk in with all the new equipment and upgrades.

Umbra Fitness has a serious vibe — dark, clean, and built for focus. The lighting and atmosphere make it feel like you're training in the Batcave. Half the time I’m in there, I feel like the Dark Knight getting ready for Gotham.

So I have waited on doing this review because after reading the ONE low review that is posted here I didn’t want Dom the owner to do the same to me. However I cannot ignore the fact that I was treated so poorly by Dom the owner. I had issues with 3 individuals and Dom did absolutely NOTHING. Well he did actually. He kicked me out instead of actually talking to me to hear my side. He only took the side of his friends. In the end he tells me that he spoke to several other members asking them their opinion of me. And instead of calling me he sends me a message on instagram informing me I’m no longer welcome. I live considerable distance from umbra (1.5 hrs each way) and I came to this gym for exactly one year because I thought it WAS the best in the area. It’s not. Not when the toxicity is so apparent there. It’s quite clear to me now that the owner only prefers to have legit body builders and power lifters here. That he would rather not have the regular gym goer. I sincerely hope that he listens to the reviews he receives both good and bad reviews. And one last thing hes been open since approximately October 2023 and my first day at this gym I noticed there was no AED. By law an AED is required. And my last day there I did not see one either.

The only positive thing I can say is that the gym equipment is good. Just good. But what I’ve learned is that you don’t need the best of the best gym equipment to make gains. I was losing gains while at this gym due to the lack of any issues being resolved. He allows other members to speak to other members so poorly. One last encounter I had, this particular member whom I’ve had issues with before told me to find another gym when I tried to approach him POLITELY.

I highly recommend seeking a membership elsewhere.

Seriously an amazing gym. Top of the line equipment that you would normally find in Vegas gyms is right here. They even have unique pieces I have not seen before. This gym is just amazing! I was hooked after my first lift at Umbra. The vibes are unmatched, it’s ALWAYS clean, people are there to work not to stand around. The owner is accommodating to all members and is always so respectful. Best gym I’ve ever been to by far.

I have officially been a member at Umbra for a month now. I did a few drops in before signing up. The community at Umbra is top tier. Everyone is so welcoming and always smiling. The gym is always clean and up to standard. I love seeing other members being motivated. It is an uplifting atmosphere. Everyone is always locked in and focused, and respectful/mindful of others needing to use equipment. I love it here and it’s a great fit for me.

Kicked out. No specfic reason was only told that people were complaining about me. I suspect the actual reason for me being banned was the amount of time I chose to spend at this facility and the fact that I was maxing out every piece of equipment. Both of the aforementioned reasons were brought to my attention by the owner himself and he assured me that I would not be banned because of them. It is nothing short of asinine to market yourself as a powerlifting gym if you do not want people to actually powerlift. I was also charged for another month on the day my membership was revoked. Not a true powerlifting gym this place will not last long.
EDIT: I went to sign up at another gym and was refused a membership because the owner of umbra stopped in and told them not to sell me a membership. By far the worst gym in the area designed for people that work out for social media.

As a personal trainer I cannot recommend this gym enough. The equipment is top of the line and any advanced lifter will be able to tell the difference between what Umbra has and the average commercial gym. But that doesn’t mean this gym is all for advanced lifters because I have plenty of beginner clients that are able to maximize their results with the machines available. It is a serious gym, but everyone is there to get better and it doesn’t matter what your experience level is, it’s a welcoming and motivating environment.
