Great gym with a friendly, helpful staff! Just the other day I wanted some lifting straps, and Paul the manager let me borrow his and gave me some very useful tips on some of the new lifts I was trying. Couldn’t imagine going anywhere else but Viking!

Just wanted to give a big shoutout to Viking fitness center in Marysville Michigan! I have been going to this club for over 10 years now , I met Paul about 6-7 years ago , every time I come in the gym , he greets me like I own the place , takes time to chat with me , spots me every-time I need it , every time I bring a guest they always end up getting a membership after we lift , between Jeff Bohm and Paul treating everyone like family , it’s an amazing place to train , thank you guys for everything over the years , will always be sending people your way

This is an amazing gym and would give it a 10 star if I could. I've always felt comfortable from the day I started working out here and would recommend this gym to everyone. If you're looking for a PT I had Paul Germain for a year and couldn't have asked for a better trainer. I've been going here for multiple months and never had a problem, until I got kicked out one day and they took my $72 card, along with my dad's free membership (he works in a hospital [literally saves lives]). They took the cards because me and my friend came in, and we didn't get a day pass for him, because there was no one on the counter. I told the guy it was a mistake and I didn't know that we were suppose to ring a bell for a worker, because there has never been any workers there before (I've come on weekends). The man matched my polite energy with a very hostile attitude. And he kicked us out. He proceeded to lie to my dad about what happened. (I'm 17, and I turn 18 in 6 months) instead of letting me buy my friend a 10 dollar card (I had the money) he kicked us out. Never coming back again. The workers are very entitled, spoiled brats, who think they can do anything.

Edit: I can't speak for all of the workers here, but the manager Paul is an absolute joke. As I said earlier, I was as kind, and polite as possible. Me and my friends just wanted to work out and hang out, but Paul was as passive aggressive as possible. Reading all of the other reviews, he should 100% be fired. He doesn't even deserve to work at McDonald's with his attitude. When he approached me, I immediately apologized and explained the situation. I told him it was an honest mistake, and I offered to pay for the pass because I was unaware. He said, "that's not how we do things around here". He then asked me to see our memberships, so I handed them to him. He grabbed them and said we aren't getting them back. He told me to call my dad and leave the place. The whole time I couldn't understand why he was being so mean, and I was legitimately trying my best not to cry. This experience ruined my want to go to the gym anywhere, and destroyed my depression & anxiety.

I have been to every gym in town, and with complete confidence I can announce that this is my favorite gym and by far the best I’ve experienced. Everyone in town is at this gym for a reason, great community, great amenities, and is worth every penny. It surely is a tragedy that some new members that do not know the gym experience, never give it a chance. Best in town!

• I write this as a business owner because the way this business is ran is atrocious!
•Advertise a free week trial and then it’s not offered whatsoever when you actually are a guest needing a pass.
•$30 for a week pass instead so have fun with that. $15 for a single day. Which to the amenities are no where close to worth it.
•Manager Paul needs to find a new career path because he doesn’t have any decency while dealing with customers let alone first time guests.
•AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
•GET A HOME GYM INSTEAD!!!!

•1 star is GENEROUS. And y'all can keep my $30, I should have listened to the other bad review. Stay clear of here. The younger guy who I first met was nice but the manager is a passive aggressive man who doesn’t know how to interact with a guest new to the area.
•The gyms in a basement and you have to pass through a gate similar to that of one at a train station or Disneyland ride.
•The equipment's not terrible but there is a reason this place doesn’t have pictures of the gym itself.
•Like mentioned the Gate, you can’t pass it so me being a guest I have to stop and wait. He was across the gym and yelled in an angry way “cAN i hElP yuO WiTh SoMEthInG?!”….. like yes you can do your job with some decency my man.
•Sorry not sorry but avoid this place because he doesn’t deserve your time of day or money for that matter.

This place, and Paul are highly unprofessional and right down rude. I had spoken directly to Paul toward the beginning of the year to CANCEL my membership; that was obviously never done. Get a call from their Utah collection agency that I supposedly owe $100 in back payment; mind you never a single call from Paul or Viking directly. I call Paul to inquire about this; highly unprofessional tone, and rude manner in cancellation of my membership that should have ALREADY been cancelled. Buyer beware!! This place will try to keep charging you. This place should NOT be in business, or atleast Paul should be terminated at once.

I like working out here. It's usually not very busy and I can use the machines without a wait. Some of the equipment is older, but it does the job. I've lost 30 lbs since I started working out. I like the women's only area.

Don’t give in to the “FREE” membership contest. It’s a JOKE. Nothing is ever really “FREE”. Expect to pay over $30 a month and a over $70 annual fee and expect to pay over $50 for a cancellation fee.
Had to go close my checking account because they are not getting another dime from me EVER!

I like that this is a friendly and accepting gym with plenty of weight lifting equipment. I've never felt uncomfortable there. I really like my trainer there who my husband and I have been seeing for two years. Highly recommended this gym. Noticed that a lot of the negative reviews are about a manager who is no longer there.

I had a membership there for a year, I thought it was over. I stopped going, they keeper taking $ out of my account. Called and asked to cancel. Said I had to go in person to do so. So I went in asked to have the $29.00 removed because I would get over drawn . They refused. So I have been paying for something that I did not asked for or use. I was a member here from 1996 to 2008, under the old management. I live across country now, but stop by when I'm in town. Surprisingly, not much has changed. They still have some of the original equipment from the original location at Gratiot Pointe Plaza. The old equipment is rusty and beat, but who cares? Whe weights are still heavy. You can definitely get jacked and tan here.

It's ok to be a lunk head here, but be reasonable and respectful of the equipment. Some of the heavier dumbbells are bent from being dropped. The old equipment is mixed with some newer machines. Of course, there some stationary bikes and treadmills. There is a locker room with lockers and saunas. There are also tanning beds. There isn't a machine or bench I like that they didn't have.

I dinged it one star because it hasn't been updated in years, giving it a dirty feel. Also, it was kinda warm and humid. Close the doors and turn on that AC!

Visited this establishment while looking for a gym as we were new to the area. The gym was very crowded with many pieces of the cardio equipment almost touching each other. Also, the facilities were very dirty and looked like a good place to get a staph infection. However, my chief complaint is the sales person kept cutting me off when I was talking, sharing my goals, or asking a question. That turned me off to the point where I had to politely excuse myself and leave.
