Wanted to check gym out and couldn't get into the place at a 11 am. Tried calling and got no answer. How do you expect to get new clients if can't even get in or talk to someone.

In response to another review, there is not a “woman’s” room but there is a room on the 2nd story that is private and can be used as a room for anyone who would prefer the privacy. The showers in the locker room are standard gym showers with a curtain and with hooks outside the shower to hang clothing. Clean and adequate for the gym.

Everyone from the owner to the regulars are nice and helpful. They will leave you alone and let you do your thing if that’s what you prefer or hold conversation and give advice if that’s what you want. I’ve never had a bad interaction here. I love the authentic gym vibe. People are there to work hard and sweat, no one is showing up to look pretty and pretend they are working out when they aren’t. It’s a motivating environment.

Viking Gym is one of the last Great American gyms this country has. Bruce and Thaddeus make the gym great and everyone here is pretty cool. Best gym I've been too will recommend to everyone I know

Bruce is a nice but very busy person. If he doesn’t answer the phone right away it is because he is probably working with someone or off getting equipment working well, he always goes above to please his members. Be patient call back, the gym is OG old school and worthy being supported!

I was worried I would feel self conscious working out in a proper gym (let's face it, Planet Fitness is a mall gym and squeaky new machines don't make a great gym...the people do). I was a bit intimidated to be honest.

But then when I went for the first time, it was very laid back. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming here.

I love that I can get in with my card any time and enjoy a workout with my husband when there are less people about.

Thanks for being a FRIENDLY affordable gym. :D

Absolutely love this gym. The facility is clean and organized with lots of equipment. The staff is friendly and explains everything upfront. Prices are lowest in town in my opinion. I would recommend this gym to all.

Ghetto as all get out. Tanning beds are on wall dial timers which do not give you any indication of the amount of time you are in the tanner. Carpet is dirty, all around run down. I wish I would have stayed at planet fitness.

My Daughter and I started coming here about a month ago. The price is awesome, not breaking the bank! Very clean and the staff make you feel at home. I love the old school Gyms. This gym has everything you need to get in shape. Free weights, Machines, ellipticals, Etc. Has a separate room for ab work, yoga, or Pilates. They also offer tanning .The locker room has a sauna.

I just recently started coming here. The owners, staff and clientele are nice. It’s a no frills gym. Go there if you want to train. The rough edges will keep the people who shouldn’t be there away, which is awesome. Love it here.

The prices are actually alot more affordable than other places. Also they don't get mad if you drop the weights. Much less judgement then the ymca or any other gym around. I guess it depends on what you personally want out of a gym but if you just want to go get a good workout at any point of the day for affordable cost. This is the place to go.

Honestly I would go to the y and day over Vikings because it's less judgemental then Vikings. It's okay if you need a workout but for about the same price you can go to the y go into a steam room as well as the pool. It's not really a competition tbh

I stopped in to get a look at this gym. There was someone working but they apparently didnt want to give me a tour of the facilities. Then i read the YELP review and i was dismayed at what i read. Which prompted me to leave and ho see other gyms. The viking fitness is drab and it looks a tad run down. Remember go read the yelp review and you wont become a member either.

Love it. Womens room to get away from the weirdos that lurk next to you really slow when your working out. If you do have a problem with a guy don't talk to the woman she will just yell at you and turn it around saying you caused the problem. If you speak with one of the men there they will handle it discreetly and resolve the problem. Usually if there are other people in the gym it wont happen. Alot of the people working out are friendly nice people that will help you with anything. You can ask anyone about how to use the workout equipment and they will show you. Most of the men and women there will correct you if your about to hurt yourself then leave you be. Great bunch of people.
