We booked a group class here for a bachelorette party, and I cannot share enough positive things about the experience! Our instructor was AMAZING, she made everyone feel so comfortable, and made something so new to us feel so natural and fun! The entire facility was very well taken care of, and the staff was so accommodating throughout the entire planning experience. The bride had a blast, and so did we :) it was absolutely the highlight of the day, and well worth the price! I would highly recommend classes here to anyone!

my auntie and i recently celebrated our half-birthdays at Vixen Dance. i knew it would be fun, but Des took it beyond my expectations. she was a FANTASTIC teacher, allowing us to flow in between lessons, accommodating the different fitness levels in our party. she instantly made everyone feel confident and open to play, which made for an out-of-this-world experience. if you’re reading this post wondering if you should book, let this be the sign for you to go for it…be sure to ask for Des when you book your party!!

Honestly, it’s a strange studio, although it’s really beautiful! I talked to them on Instagram and asked if they rent out the studio — they said no. After that, I asked if we could collaborate. I wanted to bring them clients, invite them to do a masterclass, and find out how much they would charge me. But instead, they blocked me on Instagram. Very strange behavior

The lady that was over our party did not introduce herself and or make our time pleasurable. Her attitude was very apparent when we walking in as if she didn't want to be there. She was very rude from start to finish. She wasn't helpful with learning the dances. She started when one person of our party couldn't get the move to just not do it if she can't instead of coming up in an alternative. I do think that class was really fun but the instructor was just unfriendly.

Save your money and go to another studio.
They should get a receptionist and be more welcoming to new clients. Will not return and will not reccomend.

Vixen is an amazing space - I have been taking classes regularly for over a year after moving to Michigan and I love the Vixen community! All of the instructors are incredible and the classes are great. I tried a few different pole studios after I moved here and knew right away that Vixen was the place for me :) it is the best place to go if you're a beginner, but there are also options if you have more dance experience and everybody is so supportive on every step of your journey.

On 9/17/2024 I was refused service and given a refund due to company policies of women only. I stay near the green acres community and have been poling for over 2 years. Honestly I just wanted to freshen up my technique and learn from you guys, it’s actually quite discouraging that I have to leave my community and circulate my black dollar outside of my zip code for the comfort of others who don’t stay in Detroit. This review is for the Ypsi location. Absolutely fantastic structure to the class and Danielle is an amazing instructor. There is a great combination of dance, transitions and pole moves. Studios I've gone to in the past tend to only focus on one or the other, but the intro class was just perfect for dipping my toe back in after not having gone in awhile. 5 stars! The studio was really accommodating in working with us to book a spot in a class for our friend who is getting married. A group of us did Beginner Pole and it was so fun! The teacher was great, the studio had cool lighting, and the class was a blast. We basically learned a routine and then if you wanted you could record yourself doing it at the end. We all recorded ourselves and had so much fun watching the videos together later. I loved the experience and want to go again with more friends! Also, we went for fun but it is a great workout. We were all super sore the next day, in a good way.

Had my first class with Lauren and it was wonderful! I went into it thinking I wasn’t going to be any good (I’m not a dancer at all) but the staff there were quick to greet me and make me feel right at home. The studio is very clean, and it’s very well decorated. They have mirror walls where you do the actual dancing so you can see yourself or the instructor whenever you need to, and the lighting went well with music and the vibe. It was very sexy, very fun. I’m usually stiff as a board but even I found myself moving to the tunes. Our instructor was very patient and worked with the women who needed or wanted help or tips. After the class she even went around to some the newer women to talk and I got the chance to chat with her for a bit! If you’re worried about being judged for not being able to dance or whatever other reason THIS is the place to go. I didn’t once feel left out or out of place. And Miss Trejah at the front desk was super knowledgeable about everything from class packages to the classes themselves. Im planning on attending another class soon!

This is my 2nd class with Michelle.
She is so sweet, patient, sexy and silly.
She makes you feel comfortable and breaks down the dance steps. She even shows you easier ways to do steps. I always leave the class feeling accomplished, and then sore the next day... which is crazy because it doesn’t even feel like I’m working out, just having fun! I took my first class at Vixen in February 2021 and this has been the most supportive, empowering, and welcoming pole studio I've attended in Michigan.

I've brought several friends here4 and counting) who also love the studio and we commute every week from Ann Arbor to attend. That's how great it is.

The instructors are fun, attentive, patient, and great teachers. Coming here has been a much needed outlet for my physical and emotional wellness. It's a space where I feel I can embrace my sexy, my body, and be uplifted (as a Black woman). It's been a huge confidence boost and I've learned a lot already.

If they were closer I'd sign up for as many classes as I could!

Everything about it...every mouth watering, jaw dropping, heel clapping detail is perfect and I can't wait to start regular classes there this week. I had a really positive experience and I was glad I got to be a part of the first session on opening day of their Detroit location. Vixen Dance has a really comforting and accepting environment. They played great music and the instructor had an upbeat and encouraging attitude which made me feel less self conscious as this was my first time ever taking a pole class. I signed up for more classes in the upcoming weeks and I’m looking forward to doing something fun that gets me active and boosts my confidence during the upcoming cold winter season!
