Started with little pickleball experience, and Coach Colleen, with her assertive yet approachable teaching style, has helped me learn the game and move to the ball more efficiently in just a few weeks. I'm still a work in progress, but I feel good about how much I improved! I highly recommend it.

This is a very nice club. It’s in a surprisingly remote location close to downtown Pontiac. As you can see by the pics it’s rather airy and modern. They’ve executed a very welcoming modern environment with a open lounge area. The only negative I can see is it’d be a noisier environment if you need to do work while your kid(s) play. Bring yourself over-the-ear head phones if you need a quiet zone. I’ve only been to this place in the summer and it’s comfortable. I wonder what it’s like in the winter…Birmingham, which has a similar set up (inflatable area) is a little cool in the winter.

Since 2022, I've been attending summer adult beginner group lessons and have had a fantastic experience with the coaches and fellow participants. I've been fortunate to learn from excellent coaches like Vuk, Boz, Jay, and Konrad, all of whom have contributed to making the lessons enjoyable and rewarding.

I love the variety of clinics offered and the number of experienced coaches. The facility is meticulously clean and the front desk staff deserve five stars for their customer service and friendliness. The online scheduling platform could be better. I’d prefer to see a calendar view with court availability. I’d give Wessen five stars IF: 1) the clinics didn’t consistently have too many people per court, 2) if they offered more in the evenings, and 3) if there was more focus on skill-building and coaching in the drop-in clinics, and 4) the online booking platform allowed customers to see court and coach availability. Overall, it’s one of the best in Oakland County for cost, staff, facility condition, and variety.

When Covid hit, the tennis club I formerly played at didn't really have its act together. That summer, I was able to find some guys to play with. They were all members of Wessen. So I joined.

Not only did I save a ton of money, but found great competitive groups to play with. The facilities are nice. The courts are in great shape and the lighting, especially in the main bubble, is great.

Highly recommended.

Nice tennis club. We came here for a USTA tournament this summer. Tournament was well-run and the staff was friendly. It was really hot in the bubble for the indoor matches where the courts are, but in fairness, the outside temperature was 96 degrees!

This is a comment referring to an incident I observed while watching a tennis match on 6/5/2022. The two players were engaged in a match and one player became frustrated and hit the floor with his racket. The Umpire of the match, who wasn't paying attention to game, came out on the floor and ejected the player without warning and indicated there was damage to the floor.
I believe this umpire acted unfairly to the player and actual lied regarding the damage to floor. Also purposely over-exaggerate the event and did so to intimate & embarrass the player. Remember this player was a 14 year old boy who's only trying to play hard and obviously has passion for tennis.
The umpire's behavior is that of bullying and should not be allowed or permitted ever. Passion and emotion is a part of sports and all athletes (famous or not) have expressed frustration and joy on the count or the field. This umpire should not be allowed to coach kids until he learns how to take a moment like what I observed on Sunday and turn into a teaching or coaching moment instead of bullying, intimidation & yelling

I joined Wessen a couple years ago as a big tennis fan that was looking to play and it has been an amazing experience. The membership is reasonable, lessons, individual lessons and USTA leagues of all levels are offered. The people are extremely friendly and I would recommend Wessen to anyone who loves tennis!

I registered my son there to have UT match several times already. We felt good before. My son even got the invitation from their staff to join their club. However, my son has his own club and had no interest to change. No one got banned from a match because of smashing their racquets there. However, the staff was very rude to us the last time when we attended UT match there. When we checked in on time, the staff seriously gave my son a warning. Also, he banned my son from the second match because of his first time smashing his racquet even without a warning. The staff even threatened me that the owner of the court might check their security camera to file a suit on me. Extremely a nightmare experience.

I took the pictures as the evidence for the smashing (the first two). And the third picture is showing their old damages (just a little spot from their court). The video couldn’t be uploaded.

My daughter took group classes for 5 years - she asks me every time to sign her up again. I have become a member from almost the beginning and play there about twice a week. The coaches are great professionals - you will find great coaching for all levels. Staff - Mimi and support team - are amazing. The owners are there on the courts almost daily teaching classes or making sure everything is in perfect shape - v well maintained. I love it!

Wessen is a great club and a jewel in the middle of Pontiac. Up until recently, I was a very satisfied member. However, I have canceled my membership solely due to the rudeness and handling of a situation by the club's operations director. She feels it's acceptable to move members from their reserved and paid courts and give them away to other members without notice.

Not sure what Cindy's response demonstrates, other than that this situation continues to be handled unprofessionally.

This is a good facility with great courts and it's pretty neat. But if you are thinking about attending one of their group lessons it's not so great. The group lessons are just set of drills they put you through with 20 other people with no real feedback or pointers on how to fix your shot/swing. I have even given the feedback after my very 1st lesson but nothing changed.

Update to my original review above after owners response:
Firstly as I noted in my original review that I indeed contacted your front desk over phone the day after my 1st class with my concerns. I even asked if I could switch the remaining credit to private lessons instead of group lessons but I was told no. Also only one of the three coaches gives any feedback. All of this was communicated to your front desk staff and nothing changed even after that. After paying top dollar (300$) for the lessons the least any customer should expect is that ALL the coaches coach and give you pointers on how to improve/fix certain strokes that you are bad at rather than just putting you through certain drills. I'm sorry that you chose to blame me for not asking questions(which I did), for writing a review after 2 months and online reviews rather than addressing the actual problem. Infact I learned more in the last 2 months from watching free short YouTube videos on tennis. I didn't want to write this originally but your response warranted it.

This is the best lighted indoor facility in SE Michigan! The courts were just painted in the last summer and they are impeccable! Every morning they are cleaned and in excellent condition. The deck on top of the clubhouse allows people to see the action on all 6 courts. The balloon has a stretch of transparent plastic in the middle of the ceiling that makes natural daylight conditions for most of playing time. The staff is outstanding (a few former Bolletieri Academy coaches, others just out of Div 1 college tennis), Cindy Demerino is the most helpful Director of Operations who actually answers phone calls and the automated court reservation system that can be done online or on a cell phone is super practical and easy to use. Some of the best juniors in the midwest are training here and the quality of the instruction is unparalleled. Keep up the good work!

I am relocating to MI and am researching indoor tennis facilities in the area. Cindy Demerino, the Operations Manager was the first and only person from any clubs, within a 10 mile radius of Troy, who replied to my inquiries. That says a lot about customer service. Although Wesson will be too far of a drive from where I will be living, I still want to recognize Cindy and the customer service of the club.

I visited the club and the grass courts are absolutely gorgeous. The facilities are nice.
