My wife and I took dance lessons here mostly to prepare for our first dance at our wedding, and overall our experience was excellent. We got a package for 10 lessons, as well as one additional individual lesson, and everything went really well. Walker is a very good teacher, and very easy to work with. Each lesson was very well planned, and got us from having no dance experience whatsoever to feeling confident and comfortable with our dance routine for the day of. Communication and scheduling were always smooth and straight forward, and both my wife and I ended up having a ton of fun learning to dance and practicing. We practiced multiple types of dancing as well; a waltz for our first dance and also some more casual types of dancing we could use on our honeymoon (and actually were able to, which was a lot of fun for my wife and I). Overall we’re very happy we did this and had a great experience. We would highly recommend Wilson Dance Studio for anything from lessons to practice for a routine at an event like a wedding, or just as a fun activity for couples to do together.

My now-husband and I took dance lessons in preparation for our first dance at our wedding. We wanted something doable but choreographed; we knew we'd hate awkwardly swaying and we wanted to enjoy our first dance and look okay doing it. We had a package for 10 lessons and it was perfect, and better than we even expected. We learned our first dance by heart so that on wedding day we truly felt confident, and all of our guests really enjoyed our dance. We still feel really happy and proud when we think about it!
Walker designed the perfect routine to the song that we wanted, with the amount of movement/skill that we wanted, and he also adjusted the speed to make it smooth. Neither my husband or I had any previous dancing experience, we were both nervous, and neither of us are natural dancers, to say the least. Walker made us feel comfortable though, we never felt like we were being left behind, and we ended up looking forward to dance lessons every week. It was one thing in the wedding planning process that allowed us to just have fun together, just for us.
Not only did we have a great first dance at our wedding, but we learned some other dance moves like Bachata that we used on our honeymoon in the Dominican too, which was awesome! We can now dance more comfortably in a few different types of scenarios. It was incredibly worth it to learn to dance here.

He was easy to be around, a great teacher, and we truly enjoyed our lessons. Not only that, but we went from feeling nervous/awkward about our first dance to enjoying every second!! My husband and I take weekly private lessons with Walker. With three young children and two full time jobs, I imagine a lot of people would feel they are too busy to take lessons. But honestly, our lessons are a high point of every week for us. Walker is smart, creative, fun and an EXCELLENT teacher. He can tailor your lessons to exactly what you want - whether it's dancing for fun/exercise or wanting to build enough skills to dance competitively - our ultimate goal! We are huge fans of Wilson Dance Studio.
And for what it's worth - any of the 1 star reviews on this site are MISLEADING - they were placed inappropriately by a person trying to bully the studio.

Our family has been part of this studio since last August, and I can honestly say it has been life-changing. My three teenagers dove into ballroom here, and what started as an experiment quickly became a deep passion—thanks in large part to Walker, the studio's owner and lead instructor.

Walker strikes the perfect balance between professional and approachable. His kind, thoughtful teaching style encourages growth while keeping things light and fun. My 13-year-old son, who’s homeschooled and has never been into sports, found something incredibly special here. He’s not only learned to dance, he’s found a mentor in Walker and a community that truly sees and supports him. That kind of influence is hard to come by, and I’m so grateful for it.

My oldest daughter has completely fallen in love with ballroom and is now planning to become a ballroom dance teacher herself. Even though we’re moving out of state, we’ve already decided to fly her back regularly for teaching apprenticeships, and we will absolutely be returning as a family for major events and competitions.

My youngest daughter, who is incredibly shy and struggles with anxiety, has absolutely bloomed during her time here. She started silent and hesitant, and through Walker’s kind, but insistent, encouragement, she has come out of her shell. He has a knack for knowing when to push and when to give her space. We were shocked that she asked to perform a spotlight dance last month, and man, did she rock it! Her grin was ear-to-ear, and my mama heart was so filled to overflowing at the growth I have seen in her due to her time here.

My husband took a few dance lessons to learn the basics, and I started back up a lifetime love of dance that had taken a 20-year hiatus, so dance has become a family affair. While there aren't many teens dancing here yet, the adult students have been nothing but warm and welcoming. At every group class and social dance party, my kids have felt accepted, respected, and encouraged. This entire studio truly feels like family.

At first glance, private lesson pricing may seem steep, but we feel it’s actually a really great value. You can attend any group class at your level (or below, and I definitely recommend doing both!) and the weekly social dance parties are included, too (themed parties with dress-up opportunities!!). The group classes are especially helpful for picking up new steps and refining your technique. I’ve learned dances in group lessons that we just didn’t have time to cover in private lessons, so they’re absolutely worth it.

I also love Walker’s approach to teaching. He introduces new material in social settings so it feels fun (throwing a curveball in the middle of a social dance!!), and then you get to really dig in during your private lessons. His teaching style is clear, encouraging, and full of humor.

Dance here isn’t just about movement. It’s about joy, growth, connection, and yes, a serious workout. We leave sweaty, winded, and absolutely uplifted every time. Walker's ability to lead and teach with excellence, humor, and heart makes every session a blast.

I cannot recommend this studio enough. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an aspiring competitor, this is a place where you’ll feel seen, challenged, and part of something special. We may be moving away, but this studio is home. 💃🕺

We were looking to celebrate our 25th anniversary and wanted to have a dance. We have zero experience with dancing in our late 40s and Walker did such a great job teaching us from the ground up. All of the instructors were so professional and helpful and made us feel really confident in dancing and what was possible. We enjoyed it so much we are going to keep dancing even after our event. My fiancé and I were nervous to practice our first dance as we had never had a dance lesson before and Walker made us feel comfortable, confident and we enjoyed every second of our 1.5 hour lesson. I highly recommended this studio and, if not for the fact that I live 5 hours away, I certainly would be subscribing to weekly lessons! Walker gave us an entire routine for our wedding and has inspired us to keep dancing. 6 stars!

Hard to believe that my wife and I have been ballroom dancing with Walker Wilson as our instructor for more than six years. He has built a growing community of social dancing in Holland, and it has become one of our favorite ways to spend time together. Walker's approach builds a health lifestyle--physical fitness, mental acuity and (for guys) leadership. I HIGHLY recommend dancing with your spouse (even if you don't think you're very good). I wasn't sure what to expect at my first lesson, and let me tell you—it was amazing!! I have fallen in love with ballroom dancing. Walker is an excellent instructor. Walker is so patient and encouraging. I have become a good dancer! I never knew there were so many different kinds of dances. He pretty much knows them all and can increase your skills immensely. I now feel graceful and have increased confidence. My husband has been taking lessons here as well and now we can go to social events and dance together. It’s so much fun! Wilson Dance Studio is amazing. The instructors are kind and so talented. Our instructor met us where we were at with our dance skills and taught us what we needed to know for an awesome first dance at our wedding. Walker was the best dance instructor! We took one 30 minute lesson, one week before our wedding. My husband and I both have 2 left feet, but Walker made it easy and fun to learn the box step and twirl. Taking the lesson helped get rid of any jitters before our first dance at our reception!
