Love this intimate feeling studio with a huge variety of classes, instructors, and class times. I do not know anyone at the studio but felt so welcomed when I visited for the first time last week for a yoga event. I have since returned twice and bought a membership with 2 more classes scheduled this week. Drop in price of $22 for anyone anytime is amazingly accessible. Free/Private parking lot is a huge bonus as well, takes the headache out of getting there and back. Highly recommend for any and all levels.

I’ve been practicing on and off for over 20 years, and Yogi Union is my favorite studio. The welcoming vibes, the knowledgeable teachers, and the thoughtful classes — such a variety! something for everyone! — make Yogi Union an inclusive, supportive, student-centered space. My go-to classes tend to be challenging in the best way, but they’re always infused with a sense of humor. I always leave feeling like a million bucks, and I’m so grateful this place exists. If only it was walking distance from my house, it’d be perfect!

My friend invited me to a women’s menopause event at Yogi Union. I was intrigued since I’ve practiced yoga for over 20 years and am passionate about women talking about this important topic. The experience of this Women’s Circle far exceeded my expectations. I learned about how indigenous cultures segment womanhood into three parts. The facilitators then guided us in sharing different life experiences that normalized the conversation, even between strangers. It was a moving experience I continue to draw on, and I’m so grateful. Yogi Union is living their name out loud. Unifying people with shared interests in human-centered, somatic ways. And that is frickin MAGIC!!

Firstly, just let me say, neither of us is especially great at asanas; nor are we new or only occasional practioners. I would say we’re about in the middle of the pack — as most : -} This studio is one of the best that we have attended and we’ve attended many throughout the United States and Baja California. We stumbled upon this place while walking our dog — it’s located in a mixed residential/light industrial area, just off Seward St. and Fourth St on the west side of Grand Rapids. With a limited amount of time during our visit to GR, we luxuriated in the class selection over a 27-day period. Each instructor had a unique POV and an interesting teaching style — our takeaways were appreciated. There were classes that ran the gamut from very physically active, to more challenging of the body’s flexibility and muscular control to the more sedate and mindfulness. It was refreshing to attend a studio where wide-ranging instruction was encouraged rather than some which adhere to a particular mantra. In addition to standard yoga classes, the studio offers experiences such as Full Moon Meditation and Sound Bath, QiGong, Cold Plunges and Breath Work as well as Trauma-Informed Yoga. We’re sorry we’re not able to stay longer because this would definitely be a studio we could make our yoga-home base.

I can’t say enough good things about Yogi Union. If you're looking for a welcoming yoga studio in Grand Rapids that offers incredible variety and seriously amazing teachers, this is the place.

Whether you're into a grounding slow flow, energizing vinyasa, deep restorative, or just want to stretch and breathe without judgment—Yogi Union has a class for every body and every mood.

I have been doing yoga for over 20 years and admit that I got pretty bored with a lot of the "fitness yoga" in town. I wanted a place where I could really learn and explore the broader elements of yoga. Well, I found it.

The variety at Yogi Union is next level. I’ve taken everything from sweaty dance power yoga to gentle, restorative sessions, from immersive sound healing to the bedtime yoga that feels like a warm hug. They even offer Qigong (look into it!), breathwork, meditation, and specialized workshops that go beyond the mat.

What really sets this yoga studio apart, though, is the incredible instructors. Every teacher I’ve had has been deeply knowledgeable, supportive, and down-to-earth. They actually know how to teach real humans—not just hyper-flexible young people. All with a cool calmness and a lot of giggles.

Whether you're a total beginner or you’ve been practicing forever like me, you’ll feel seen, safe, and challenged in such caring and amazing ways.

Bonus: the community vibe is strong. No weird yoga cliques. No gymfluencers. Just solid people, good energy, and classes that make you feel like a better human—physically, mentally, spiritually.

Yogi Union has inclusive yoga classes for everyone, expert yoga instructors who really know their stuff, and is just a chill space to breathe and move.

Book a class at Yogi Union! You won’t regret it.

Well it all started when I hurt my back. I was talking with my pt about strengthening my back and she recommended yoga. So there I was with no clue of what to expect I popped into yogi union. Started off with a beginners class learned the moves and fell in love with power yoga. It's been about 4 months and I can safely say my back and overall health are doing better. From the power yoga classes to the breath work classes get ready for a healthy change.

I had great expectations for this studio, and I have not been disappointed. Regardless of your age or condition, they have classes that will improve your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
They have a large parking lot (there's never an issue with parking), they have a nice roomy space for studios and lobby (you won't get waitlisted), friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent variety of class types, friendly yogis, and a schedule that is very accomodating. On top of all that, the price is right.
It's the kind of place that won't penalize you for late cancellation. If you forget your mat.....no problem. They will go above and beyond to make you happy.

Great variety of classes, instructors, and teaching styles. For someone totally new to Yoga, the instructors have met me where I am, encouraged me, and helped me learn what all the various movements and new vocabulary means, all without making me feel less than or as the 'odd-man-out'. If you are curious and want to learn about your body and breath, this is a fantastic place to start or continue your journey.

My first class that I attended was “trauma informed yoga” with Jen. It’s an incredibly supportive class for folks with any kind of trauma or who may be dealing with a lot of stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. Jen is so wonderful at creating a safe space, making sure you know that you have options to do what feels right to you. She sets the class up in a way that feels safe too. No one is behind you, lighting is dim, and the teacher never comes up to you unless you ask for support. This class was donation based too, which helps it be accessible to anyone who could benefit. Jen is an amazing teacher, space holder, and such a warm welcoming human. I recommend this class to anyone interested in feeling a sense of calm and safety in their bodies. I’ll definitely be back to check more of their classes out!

I am teacher here but also a student and I love this place! There are such high quality teachers working here and I love that each class you go to you will find something different. Teachers are encouraged to infuse their personality and personal style into every class and I really appreciate that.
The space is super cozy and welcoming and I'm excited to watch the studio and community continue to develop over time.

A welcoming environment for a first timer. As someone who avoids any in-person group classes, I was able to do my first yoga session in person and feel comfortable and excited about the next class.

Yogi Union is re-igniting my sense of comfort when it comes to a yoga studio space. As someone who has struggled to integrate into local studios due to a lack of trust for instructors and feeling like I don’t fit in to their student “aesthetic”.. This is a welcoming atmosphere that truly embraces a “come as you are” feeling for any body. The instructors are experienced and full of wisdom that remind you what the true essence of the practice is. This is a much needed community in West Michigan and I am grateful for what will grow there!

I loved the power class at Yogi Union! Becky was knowledgeable, kind, and she created such a welcoming environment for all. The class was thoughtfully designed, and I left feeling not only physically refreshed but also mentally centered. The hands on assists were amazing and helped me to feel supported in the poses! Highly recommend to anyone looking to improve their practice or just find a moment of calm in their day!
