I love 9 round! It’s open 24 hours so I can go when it’s convenient for me, there are hours where trainers are staffed mornings and after work. My cardio has improved so much, while also strength training at some of the stations. The trainers are super great and I feel like they’re all my friends. But the best part, is Ernie. Ernie is a deaf white pitbull that comes with his owner Thursday mornings for a few hours. He sits politely out of the way and encourages you from afar. He would love everyone to be his best friend. 10/10 gym.

9Round has changed my attitude towards gyms!

At a traditional gym I felt anxiety of whether others were “judging” me, whether or not I was using equipment properly, and had a hard time motivating myself to go. 9Round has never made me feel that way. I am excited to get to 9Round to complete my workout each day and the trainers have been incredible. They’re fun, energetic, and they cheer you on.

The workouts are laid out for you and are always changing so you don’t have to think about what you need to do or get bored from the same old workouts. There’s TV screens at each station to show you how to do your workout as well as trainers available to help!

We joined 9Round a few months ago and this is the most successful any health journey has been for us. The InBody Scans are super helpful to guide you as well.

A perfect way to burn away anxiety, frustrations, Monday blues, and fat! Great full body workout that leaves cleansed and feeling great. Staff are wonderful and really get involved in your workout.
The integration of tech is a nice touch. You get a heart monitor which tracks your workouts, plus there's an InBody scanner which gives you your stats. The InBody scan will show your body fat, skeletal muscle mass, water weight, caloric metabolism, and a slew of other data that can help you track your progress over time.

I'm a 41-year-old man who fell off the fitness wagon nearly 20 years ago, going from a well-trained, self-motivated martial artist and generally active outdoorsy type to someone who spends most of his days and nights sitting in front of a computer with a staple diet of fast food. The added influences of the pandemic, some serious heartaches and adversities, and a vague sense of shame about how I look and about my inability to get my act together on my own made things even worse. Thankfully, I eventually swallowed all my pride, my fear of failure and rejection, and my misgivings about learning techniques that were not only inherently different from the styles of martial arts I had studied in the past but that were also taught in a way that was much more exercise-oriented (rather than combat-oriented). I took my chance on the 9Round team, and, with their help, little by little, have started to regain my strength, speed, agility, balance, and self-confidence. Johanna, Reese, Curtis, Josiah, Matt, Missi, and Gage are amazing! They're always super-supportive, positive, friendly, and attentive, and they always do their best to make sure that you get the most out of your workouts, neither injuring yourself nor jipping yourself. They encourage and inspire you to dig deep and try new things but do so without barking commands at you or coercing you into stuff that doesn't sit well with you. They are all very knowledgeable and competent and yet always listen and adapt to you and your needs, rather than lecture and impose based on their own experience and needs. They are all 100% genuinely caring, fun, and fun-loving individuals who seemingly effortlessly create a safe, welcoming atmosphere of close-knit camaraderie. As for the workouts themselves, they're as convenient as it gets: half an hour, anytime between 5:30 AM and 6:30 PM, six days a week, with special classes and tailored trainings scheduled from time to time and upon request, with all equipment, safety wear, technical support, etc., provided for you (including body mass analyses and nutritional advice and services, if you're interested). Needless to say, I have no hesitation in recommending this gym whole-heartedly!

I like to hit things and they have a lot of stuff to hit.

Workouts are great and modified to your ability. Only 30 minute workout and I leave drenched, but still able to carry on in my day.

Started in late July at 225lbs w/ 26.2% body fat. I am now (Dec 6th) 218lbs and 23.5% body fat. I'd say it's working.

The membership provides too many red flags, and little value. The layout of the gym is like a fast food drive thru. They want you in and out in 30 min, which isn't what I'm looking for. I explained my goals to a trainer and the marketing emails and conversation is constantly focused on body shaming. They use the industry buzz words meant to break people down and just sell the product. Their plan lacks holistic values.The trainer I worked with was not certified, so I'm not sure why they offer premium memberships that include coaching when they don't have certifications. Pricing lacks transparency; it should be posted, not written out on a dry erase clipboard for each client.

Update: here is the beginning of the email I got from the company.

"Hi Olivia,
Besides losing weight or looking better in your clothes (or swim suit), here’s one of the main reasons people love the 9Round workout…"

I would like to clarify. The only part of my review that I copied and pasted was this toxic quote above. The rest is my words and experience. The owner knows I went to her gym because she contacted me through personal information obtained during my workout. I like kickboxing and the workout was okay. I do not like the company culture of 9Round.

I didn’t know what to expect starting this kickboxing journey and the challenges that came with it. 9round is definitely not your typical gym where you hesitate to try something new, or have to wait your turn for equipment time. I joined a 30 day challenge moms group & it was the BEST choice I could of made. The coaches have helped, pushed & encouraged me to keep going. The 3 min. workout per station goes very quickly all while giving me a full boy workout.
I'm 49 yrs old and have loss inches, gained muscle and confidence. Highly recommend checking them out.

They have a great workout circuit. It is as intense as you want to make it, and you have a trainer there helping the whole way.

I've been to several gyms, and this was the first time working out had a different feel. It was more fun and engaging... The best part was that it was a lot quicker than when I normally work out.

I started at 9Round last year on a free trial and immediately fell in love with the intensity, the community and the flexibility. Staff are responsive, knowledgeable and friendly, pushing me to get the most out of my workouts and understanding when I need modifications as well. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun challenge no matter what level of fitness you are at (I was not fit at all when I joined!). I cannot say enough about this gym...oh, and I was also able to use the gym by the same owners in Golden Valley...a bonus!

Everyone seems to really like this location but I had a different experience walking in as a potential client. No one greeted me. I understand one consultant was informally talking with clients and another trainer was working with someone, but both of them looked directly at me multiple times and didn't bother to say hello. Also, a $200 sign up fee is a little ridiculous. I'm not new to gyms and I've worked in the industry as well. Too much.

I really like the half hour of direction through the process. It's always a nice set up to see what they have going for the day of excerises. They are as tough on you as you want. Ethier it being extra words of encouragement to finish out a set, to showing you a better way to do the sets. I highly recommend coming in and checking it out, it's worth the time.

The personal relationships formed with the staff and other 9 Round members make this place great. I love that I can come in at any time, and stay for however long I want if I want to do more rounds or other activities. Between kicking, punching, core work, strength training and other high intensity moves, the workouts are never boring and always go by so fast. Duluth needed a place like this, absolutely love the 30 minute work out and how it is different every time you go in. I always got bored going to the gym and doing the same elliptical machine for an hour, this makes it fun, fast, and a killer workout that you’ll never get bored with and it’s 10 times the workout an elliptical will ever be! Geoff and Johanna make you feel right at home and make efforts to get to know you and your story. The other trainers are also great and so helpful, so many workouts I looked at thinking “how do I even begin to do that?!” And the trainers are not afraid to get down and show step by step and help each and every person in the room, it helped me feel way more comfortable, and also get the correct form for my workout. It’s fast paced and can be tailored to anyone depending on what they’re looking for. You do not have to be super in shape to start either, this workout is really for anyone, and can adapt to what you can or cannot do. I was not sure what I was getting into, and had so many questions about what this place was before hand because there’s never been a place like this in Duluth and I got all my questions answered and more. They just posed a video on Facebook that is very helpful for people wondering about this place, the video actually shows what the workouts are like, what stations can look like, and how the trainers are involved with you. I heard the hype about it and I am so glad I got a chance to try it out because it’s truly one of a kind work out! Highly recommend trying it out!
