Recently joined Anytime Fitness in Excelsior. I generally don't provide reviews but I have been so Happy and Impressed with this specific club I felt I needed to post my thoughts. The club is very welcoming to all levels and all ages. On any given day I will see college students, working professionals and seniors like my myself. Great assortment of cardio, free weights, and machines. The club is extremely clean and the club manager is very accessible, professional, and always takes time to say hello.

Been to a lot of anytime fitnesses and this location is easily the worst. It's very close to my house so I can pop in on a long lunch break and get a workout in, but lifetime down the highway is looking more and more appealing. I have been going here for years, but some of the people here are absolutely ruining this gym with horrible etiquette. If you are coming here for just cardio you will be fine, but there are literally more people here that don't clean up after themselves than people that do in the weight room. It's incredibly rare I can walk in here and get a workout in without having to clean up a mess left by someone else. The staff is obviously aware of this issue as they put up another sign which is of course ignored. The other issue is a lot of people treat this gym more like a bar than a gym as they will stand around and talk for literally 30 plus minutes while using equipment. If none of the above bothers you then you will be just fine with location. If you are looking for a spot with a good and clean weight room though, I'd look elsewhere.

It is simply an incredible value for the membership dues. I need a place where I can hit the treadmill and weights on a flexible time schedule (and when the MN weather nixes outdoor running) - the 24 hour access and convenient location (i.e. not having to drive out of town to an industrial park) is hugely important to me. The gym is always spotlessly clean, the machines just 'work'...and I've never had any difficulty with congestion. Members just do their thing. Low stress. 'You do you, boo!'

I've previously held memberships at much more expensive clubs (with less convenient opening hours) - joining Anytime in Excelsior for me has been a double whammy. 1) I never now talk myself out of a workout on the basis of having to schlep 5 miles each way to a out of town place or because I can't get much of a workout done before closing time and 2) I'm saving a bunch of money.

This is my favorite location! In fact--I actually moved to the cities but still go out of my way to come to this gym more than half the week!

Not only are the employees nice, welcoming, accommodating, and keeping the gym/bathrooms so clean, but I just don't have the anxious feelings here that I have at other gyms. I also like that the gym has a steady flow, but it never feels too packed. As a little bonus, it's right by the walking trail in Excelsior so sometimes I do a cool-down walk after my workout. All around good energy at this gym, and prompt responses whenever you email.

The facilities (weight and cardio machines) are nice, and the staff friendly enough, just know that there is no cancellation on the membership once signed up, so once you sign up you are very much locked in. There are month by month options that are a bit pricier than a long term contract's monthly fee but may save you long term if you are unsure or this is your first time getting a gym membership , so just be aware of that going in.
