I will not be setting foot in this gym ever again. 30 minutes after my workout I get a call from (based on all of the negative reviews) I’m assuming is Roy saying “Are you gonna come back and clean up that mirror that you flicked water on?” . Are you kidding me? I went to the bathroom. I don’t remember flicking water on anything and even if I did… most likely it wasn’t on purpose. the guy sounds like a freak and needs to get a life. And was he watching me go to the bathroom? Why 30 minutes after you look up my information and call me… just a creep. I have friends that work for anytime and he is truly a disgrace to the franchise. Who knows they might have cameras in the bathroom for all I know.

Anytime fitness, more like passive aggressive fitness. Walked into the bathroom, there is literally a printed out picture that shows you the "right" and "wrong" ways to wash your hands, and I don't mean a piece of paper you'd see at the doctor's office that shows you how to clean up properly. The paper reads "it's getting really old, I'm sick of having to clean up after people shaking their hands in front of the mirror, stop it".

That's not all, the owner walked up to me wagged his finger at me and told me to "come here and look at the tracks I left" and that he "just finished mopping" and now because of me he will have to "mop again and clean up the big mess I caused all over the gym". Was there not a more professional way to do this besides wagging your finger at me and telling me to come look as if I'm a 5 year old?

I understand being annoyed at members leaving a mess, but there is no need to treat me like a kid and be rude.

You get paid to clean up, do general maintenance, sit in your office, and HELP members, not be rude to them.

First time visiting an Anytime Fitness unfortunately involved the most unwelcoming person I've ever met.

Roy questioned my every move, instantly made it clear that they are independently owned, and basically interigated me as I had signed up at another location, prior to even realizing that the Rogers location existed... I use one pass through health insurance, which allows me to use any location... All other gyms (and successful businesses) would welcome people, that way they would actually come back.

First and (obviously) last time at this location. I would not recommend.

Edit- I emailed the email provided in the response to this review shortly after, and no one ever responded.

I had an appointment scheduled on Friday 12/16 over my lunch hour - I purposely scheduled a time that they are supposed to be staffed as a courtesy to them, even though it wasn’t very convenient for me. I received a text confirming my appointment 30 minutes before the scheduled time. I show up on time, and I rang the doorbell a few times and waited a couple minutes after each ring. I then called the number on the door, and no one answered. I left a voicemail with my number, and I never received a call back nor did anyone email me. They were very disrespectful of my time - all they had to do was show up to the appointment time, and they would have had an easy sale (I was still planning to join despite all the bad reviews).

Horrible gym. Passive aggressive staff, that doesn't know to communicate with customers. The bathroom was a mess. Cardio equipment is old and outdated with treadmills that are cheap and not able to continue moving when weight is applied. Very few olympic plates for lifting. Would recommend going to snap fitness over this anytime in rogers.

I had a terrible experience dealing with Roy. The gym is in good condition always clean and good equipment, but I got charged multiple times for no reason and had to try to work with Roy ( whom is horrible to work with)
I told Roy that I needed to cancel my membership because I was leaving for the military and he refused to respond to emails and made it difficult to do so. He then charged me $250.00 for bringing a friend in who had a guest pass through the app. He proceeded to lie to me and say that he had nothing to do with the fine, that it was the “ security camera company” instead of working with me he refused to return my calls and then shut off my gym key ( even tho I payed for the rest of the month)
I had been overcharged in the past as well ( which he also could not explain to me)
Extremely disappointed and sad to see someone rob people of money and treat someone serving their country with such disrespect. You know who I am Roy. Don’t be a coward and at least give me the decency to tell me to my face that you are an evil man.

I've been to quite a few Anytime Fitness locations in multiple states, and this location is wonderful. Roy ensures the great selection of equipment is well maintained, and always keeps the gym clean. Of the 3 locations near me, this is definitely the best.

The only reason Roy still works for anytime is because his wife owns the Rogers and elk River location. He always was and probably still is a horrible manager and shouldn’t be in the customer service Industry. I’m sure everyone else knows he lies for his own convenience. The gym used to be a very nice place to go when Thomas McAlpine was the manager. Yes, there are always two sides to every story. ALL anytime fitnesses Are aware of the problems with Roy. I have been a member in good standing until I canceled my membership in 2023 because my husband was sick. Never disrespected any of the gym it’s members or gym equipment.

The worst gym ever. Got my key fob turned off on me after repeadetly asking for my account info to which was not as it was presented to me at any time. Still have no clue what my account number was...

Had to involve local law enforcement after the owner refused to take my credit card info in person. He shut my FOB off so I couldn't access the building and then threw it back at me onto the floor after I tried to give it back to him. He then ran into his office and shut the door.

I had to involve local law enforcement due to him refusing to cancel my account or except my new replacement credit card. When police arrived I was asked to wait outside. When the officer came back out I was told the owner asked why the police were involved when this is a civil matter... That, in itself, proclaims how slimy of a character this owner is. End result was me paying all fees for an additional 30 days, $10 termination fee, $19.95 fee for a failed attempt at a recurring card payment. The same payment I forewarned 1 1/2 weeks ahead of time would fail. This is a bad deal here. Overpriced with no respect to their member. I paid all fees and am now done with Anytime Rogers thanks to the police department and their willingness to negotiate a school yard bully into giving me biweekly payment back.

GO ELSEWHERE. THERE ARE ACTUALLY QUITE A FEW OTHER OPTIONS LOCALLY. THE ELK RIVER LOCATION IS ALSO OWNED MY THIS GUY.

Signed up for a one day pass. The guy who assisted me acted as if I had inconvenienced him. Had no idea I was coming in even tho I signed up online and made appointment. Tells me I only have an hour. Edit 1/5/2024: Now that I'm not a member of this gym anymore, I would not recommend or go back. I only went to this gym because it was close and has mostly everything I need to get a variety of workouts in. It's usually never packed when I go before or after work. My only complaint is that I wish the owners were more active with their members and offered classes, challenges, etc. In 2023, I sent an email and tried calling, asking about personal training, fitness classes and challenges, but received no response. Also, the owner keeps thinking I'm a member of the Forest Lake location, which I am not and have never been to that one. I am reviewing the Rogers, MN Anytime Fitness location, which was my home gym when I moved to St. Michael.

Very rude personal when trying to cancel your membership! Be fair warned you are signing a contract and can not get out of it when you desire! Even if the gym is not upholding their end of the contract! Some scammer type of deals are being done with a contract! Big scam and this gym is more worried about making money then actually giving out memberships! Also the gym is usually filled with high schoolers treating the place like a hang out/playground! This is the best anytime location I’ve worked out in, I’ve been to probably 10 in the Midwest and the Rogers MN location has the most equipment and floor room. Recommend because of that and the 24/7 access with key fob.

Worst gym ever. Owner leaves passive aggressive notes all over and can’t use some of the equipment properly because it’s either cheap or not good for commercial use, and there are not enough plates in the facility. I've been to over 10 Anytime locations, and this one is easily the lowest quality. Equipment is old and antiquated. Machines are far too close together - expect to be constantly bumping into others if people are using the machines next to you. Bathrooms are disgusting and look like they hadn't been cleaned in some time. Ownership turns off your FOB for no reason if you visit more than once or twice and this isn't your home club. Hard to believe Anytime allows one of their locations to get away with all this. Fortunately, the nearby locations in Maple Grove, Osseo and Medina are exponentially better than this one.

Owner is money hungry and has mischarged my account. Worst Anytime I've been to. Started charging $5 for everytime you walk in the door for not using the key fob to get in. Door was closed (locked) and used my key fob to get in, it unlocked and made a buzzing sound as if I strolled right in without using it and I got charged 5 dollars. I'm a veteran and it's sad to get taken advantage of by the people I've fought for to keep our freedom. Will be switching gyms.

I really love this gym, it is my home gym that I go to. They keep it very clean and any time that I have had to call about something, they were very quick to answer and thorough in their response.
Only suggestion is (I am in the cleaning business so I may be the only person that notices) that the bases and other flat surfaces of the equipment tend to be a bit dusty. Probably just needs a good dusting in there. And I do prefer the wet wipes versus spray and wipe.
Nonetheless, it is a great gym and the people who run it do a fantastic job!

I should have done more research before coming to this facility and switching from Snap Fitness. They love to turn your key fobs off just because. My boyfriend and I both have memberships, we swipe our keys and magically his key stops working. Roy or anyone from Anytime Fitness never called him when his account got locked for letting me in even though I swiped my fob but Roy said I didn't. Well I let my boyfriend in because he is still paying for his membership why shouldn't he be able to come in he tried swiping his fob countless times while he was with me. I get a call from Roy saying I have been letting a guy in with me. I tell him he is my boyfriend who also has a membership there and he has tried swiping his key but no luck. Roy is more okay with calling a Female vs a Male. I have no idea how long my boyfriends account was locked seeing I go more then he does. I just find it funny how Roy is more comfortable calling a female vs a male about an account being locked. I would not choose this gym its not worth your money. You can go to other gyms and never have a any problems.

I love the location of this club and also that is clean and well ran! Roy gives the club a personal touch and I like the fact that he runs the club with integrity and follows the rules of Anytime Fitness. The equipment is all in working order, organized and clean. The second I even walked in he just wanted my money and got upset with me when I wasn't sure since online it says $40 and he tried charging me $100 on the spot. Refused to work with me and was extremely condescending and told me "he would make sure my key didn't allow me back in his gym if I switch locations." Other managers from other locations stated they also had problems with him as well as other members who transferred over to another location because of Roy. Wouldn't recommend this location!!

Horrible customer service. I explained I work from 8-5 and am unable to make it in during business hours. Refused to set up an appointment with me outside of normally staffed hours because I was a "pay per visit" customer. Explained to me that he would make no money from my membership and it wasn't worth it. Told me they make $3 a visit and said "it's just not worth it." I told him while that was unfortunate, it was his problem with the insurance company, not me. I asked him to set something up for the weekend and while he had offered to meet me on Saturday, prior to knowing that I was a pay per visit customer, he now refused to meet me because "it's not company policy. It's been this way for 10 years." Offered me no solutions, other than to come when they are in office. Unhelpful, unfriendly, and lost a customer. I will not be signing up with Anytime Fitness.

Very disappointed with the service. They charged my card twice and now my key fob will not let me in!!!! I've been trying to stop in when they say they are open to get this cleared up-no one is never on duty. I've tried to call and I've left messages, and no one will call me back. I recently joined with Anytime Fitness and love it. The staff worked right with my insurance company to get my discount benefit taken care of, there is a WIDE arrangement of great equipment, everything is very updated, clean and exactly what I was looking for. I would highly recommend it.
