I’ve been going to this location frequently for about the past 6 months. It has since changed ownership which I thought would help with the sorry state of some of the equipment.

After reporting a number of items to Ross Kinderman (general manager?), he noted the items would be fixed in a reasonable time frame.

Unfortunately, the items such as the straps for feet on the precor exercise bike have not been addressed and my foot flung off the pedal due to this faulty equipment and I smacked my leg pretty hard.

Ultimately, for being a commercial gym I’d expect higher quality standards.

The ownership of this franchise is also owner of the Downtown St Paul location along the river (11 locations total in the twin cities metro) . Also had negative experiences at that location as well.

11-4-2025 Update. I've updated my review from 1 star 3 stars. The item in question took over 3 weeks from the time of submission to actually being repaired. I appreciate the time and effort it takes to getting items back in order. My original issue stems from the lack of proactive measures as compared to reactive measures. I also had a positive conversation with Ross Kinderman and experience with Trainer GM Ben Steen.

Convenient access off the highway and super easy parking. Entrance on the left side of the building; it wasn't obvious to me initially.

Cozy, yet clean, not busy and has all the free weights, strength machines, cardio equipment and functional spaces that anyone would really ever need. Seriously lifting belts, a deadlift platform, thick dumbbell grips, etc.

When I first joined this specific gym, it was no where near as good as it is now. The current owner & manager have made a lot of great equipment additions. When something malfunctions, they're quick to retify the issue. The cleanliness is over & above what other gyms provide. I don't recall the last time supplies like wet wipes, paper towels & hand soap actually ran out. I'm extremely happy with my gym. I sure hope the owner never sells it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to workout.

Got a call from someone named Olya, they were very rude and have unfortunately lost my business. I will not be returning due to their lack of professionalism.

You did not politely message me, and i did not call your manager any names. It is okay. I will be there later while you are staffed!

Please be sure that she is in office.

What is also very concerning is, my guest has a free pass. No one has bothered or bothered to ask. Again the lack of professionalism, and research is ridiculous.

IT'S an expensive Gym and They ask you To clean up when They got a clean up crew , I would Not Recommend Anyone Joining This gym Because it cost 70 a month and They don't offer alot of amenities and ask you To clean up which is unprofessional and Cheap of Them . I Like The old Management Better when The clean up crew actually Did it's Job . THERE'S alot of Gyms out There Join The Ymca They clean up after you and Treats you with Respect. AF have Really stoop Down for a while Now .

7-25-2024 update : I Went To Workout There a Few Days ago I saw The Showers were Renovated And I only went To work out at Night Because The Manager At This Location Often Harassed Me Because He was Too cheap To Hire a clean up crew To Clean His Restroom and I saw Recently He sealed The drain holes in The Restroom where water flows into after you get Out of The Shower .

The location is great however they only have 3 elliptical machines the one with the monitor has been broke since at least the summer of 2018 another machine the calorie display doesn't work that leaves 1fully functional machine not cool when I asked the manager when will it be fixed he seemed annoyed with my question. The disinfectant wipes are usually out you got to go to the rear of the gym to find wipes. This would be a great place to go with a couple of very simple fixes. The monthly fees I don't mind but I feel if I'm paying 3 times more than planet fitness I feel they need to get it together because I'm about done with this place😕

This place needs a major renovation. It’s very small and the equipment is very outdated. I was very disappointed with the quality of the equipment as well as the cleanliness. There was only one bin for clean-up wipes and they were all gone. This is not my home gym, as I am in the area for business, but it definitely could use for some upgrading.

$29.99! I was paying almost $50 a month plus the yearly $40 fee. It was expensive for how small the gym was. Not only was it expensive... It was also very dirty. There was dust everywhere, unsanitary bathrooms, old yoga mats, old equipments, non working equipments, etc... The only reason I gave it a two star is because it's "anytime." Plus the staff are very nice. This was my honest opinion of my experience there for a little over a year there. Hopefully yours will be better.

In my opinion, people like Rutts1499 and all of these other whiny posters are straight making things up. Why would they do that, you ask? Maybe they didn't listen when the managers CLEARLY outlined the straightforward cancellation policy; maybe they had a bad experience or a run-in with a member or manager that they didn't like; maybe they're just that unfortunate type of person these days who enjoys complaining online in an effort to feel more powerful and in control of their own lives, I don't know...

But I do know one thing: I, too, have been a member of Anytime Fitness for multiple years, and I've been to NUMEROUS locations all over the country, and furthermore, I chose Anytime Fitness over all other major gym chains in the area after trying them all out for a week each. Additionally, I chose THIS particular location as my main Anytime Fitness gym, and I did it for specific reasons including, but not limited to, the personalities, helpfulness and good nature of the staff, and the wide variety of equipment (none of which is broken or defective, spare maybe one thing [of which there are multiple extras of]) that this location offers in comparison to literally EVERY other Anytime Fitness I've ever been to.

Quite plainly, not only is there nothing wrong with this location, but I personally believe that it's exemplary of what an Anytime Fitness should strive to be.

If you're looking for the best value in the Twin Cities, choose this gym.

I have been a member of the anytime franchise for over 10 years now. Based on where I have lived and traveled for business I would say I have visited and worked out in over 100 anytime gyms over that time frame, from west coast to east coast and Midwest. This is one of the gyms I have used the most. Since new ownership has come in this place has gone down hill in a hurry. Half of the equipment is broken and needs repair and is extremely unsafe to use. It's amazing that nothing improves but only continues to get worse. If there was a realty tv show called "gym rescue" this gym would be number one on the list. A year ago it was by far the worst anytime gym I have ever been to and has been getting worse every day since. I try to avoid this gym at all costs but use it occasionally out of convenience. Beware!!! Note to anytime corporate, this franchisee is demolishing the quality and convenience of your brand that I have grown to love.

After my contract is over I called to cancel my membership and was told that I had to go in and fill a 30 cancelation notice and pay for an extra month before I can leave. THIS IS BS!!!! they said its corporate policy also I did sign the contact that states such and such in there. Well if my contract is over then that damn contract shouldn't apply to me anymore because I am on a month to month basis.

if i could rate this gym/company less than 1 star i would. the membership cost is far too high for the quality and size of the gym. and the customer service is an absolute joke. they don't tell you that your membership renews automatically after your contract is up and refuse to refund money if you unknowingly get charged after your contract ends, even if you don't use the gym for months. they dont care about the members. the only way to cancel is with a written account holder signature but you will still get charged another months membership fee after you sign it. BIG WASTE OF MONEY!

Very inconvenient contract policy, when your contract is up it will auto renew as month to month EVEN if you check the "do not auto renew" box on your contract. When you decide to cancel (in person in writing) you will be charged for an additional month as well because of their 30 day cancellation policy. Also very expensive monthly rates for the small kind of gym it was. Very disappointed.

I went in with the intention to sign up. After basically being talked out of it by the owner I would not join this gym if you paid me. After being presented with the 4 pillars of his life and how he was able to retire early and adopt this pet project, I was told I was in the #1 ranked gym. Out of where I'm not sure. I am sure that I was basically not allowed to pick the month to month option for joining because 0% of the people at this gym are allowed to do that according to the owner/manager. I'm sure that coincides nicely with the $200 cancellation that comes along with a "mandatory" 12 month or 18 month membership. The presentation he showed had a monthly option written on it, but I'm sure KPI's are more important than welcoming new customers.

I have held various gym memberships and this location is the only one where I truely feel at home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming; the staff is super friendly and helpful; and the environment is clean and uplifting. I was hesitant about joining a gym again; however, I'm glad I made the decision to do so. I enjoy working out again and I'm making great strides with my health, strength, and endurance.
