Our Members enjoy access to unlimited 45-minute workouts produced by top Trainers, designed to engage your full body and deliver complete body change. Each workout takes place on our signature Floating Floor that helps produce results for every fitness level. Not the best. They will call and harass you. I am going through mental health struggle in anns out the hospital and dealing with a family memeber being in ICU. I told them I cannot sign up for membership. I can’t afford to pay for one and now they are threatening me/ collections me because of it and said I need to pay over $700.

Edit - 3 years later from my review and I still love it!! Was hooked on a New Years promo in 2019, happy to be going into my sixth year with burn!!
All you have to do is show up and try your best! The trainers are incredibly supportive and flexible in order to cater to your physical/mental needs. Memberships are on the pricy end, but it’s totally worth it and cheaper than if you got a large Starbucks everyday

Burn Bootcamp has been one of the best places that my friends have been kind enough to invite me to attend! It is the most positive environment! Burn trainers are fun and caring! The work outs are always different. You get to work at your own pace, and make small increments of progress each time. Burn is always providing little health nuggets. After a while, it starts to sink in. And, you begin to believe that being healthy is something you can do this minute, and today. You begin to see your yourself doing hard things - that you never thought possible: lifting a harder weight, doing more reps of something, or just showing up more than you thought you would. You will find lots of encouragement and high fives on the days you need it, and space to breathe on days when you need that too! There are a million reasons why I love BURN Bootcamp and not enough space to write it here!

Pros- the workouts are good and the format is done in a way that you don’t feel you wish you knew how long you had left of class. I love how nice everyone is and how welcoming it is, like, when we need to do something with a partner, like, I don’t need to worry about being able to find someone because someone will always invite you over.
The high fives and motivations are also really nice.
I feel happy there.
Cons- I think it affected my musical tastes because I don’t listen to as many sad girl songs as I used to, though maybe that’s a good thing.

I have not repeated the same days workout twice so the variety is great. The community of empowerment and support is amazing, truly it is! This review is about owners Dean and Sonya Pennel only. Trainers and staff are AMAZING at both north and south Rochester locations.

During the shutdown beginning March 2020, I participated in online classes from home. The trainers did an outstanding job during this challenging time. After a few months, my joints and back began giving me trouble - I really missed the floating floor! I then put my membership on hold.

During my hold, the gym had reopened and then shut down again due to a surge in covid cases. Upon the second reopening, the owners sent out an email to all members on Dec 28th, 2020 stating "We will not participate in the enforcement of wearing a face covering once you reach your "house". It will be your choice to wear a mask during your workout. If you do not wear one while working out, we will assume you know your own health restrictions and limitations."

I was planning on resuming in-person gym workouts until I received that email. I contacted the owners on 12/29 expressing my concern and asking for release from my contract since they were explicitly defying the Governors orders. The Pennels contacted me back stating I was incorrect and looking at the wrong orders, that they were in "discussions with the Dept of Health routinely". I contacted the MN Department of Health twice who confirmed both times that the Pennels were not following orders. After my discussions with the MN Dept of Health and the Pennels, I posted my concerns on my personal FB page. I then received the following message from Sonya Pennel: "Due to your irrational behavior and your inappropriate posts we are blocking you from our pages. I will give you until 5pm tonight to remove all of your public posts or I will instruct our attorney to file a defamation suit against you."

My communications with Sonya Pennel ended on 12/31. On 1/1/2021, members received an email about the gym reopening with the following guidelines "Masks at all times, including during the workout". While I was happy to see the owners following the Governor's orders, I was disappointed that I did not receive an apology from the Pennels for how I was treated.

Based on my experience with the owners of Burn Bootcamp Rochester North and South, I cannot recommend this gym. This is unfortunate because the trainers are fun and knowledgeable, the staff is hardworking, efficient and kind and the floor and equipment made Burn a great place to work out.

I can't say enough good things about Burn Boot Camp! After 2 1/2 years as a member, it's still my favorite way to start the day. I love that the workouts are different every single day. There is nothing I don’t love about this place!!
The trainers are amazing and give me modifications to exercises I am not able to do as well as noticing when they think I can do a little more. They are encouraging, caring, knowledgeable and FUN!!! I recently joined Burn and I LOVE it. The workouts push you and are challenging but the trainers give variations for the exercises so all levels of fitness can participate. If you have an injury they will give you other moves to do. The trainers and Shal are awesome. They really motivate you to do your best. There is always great communication. I’ve belonged to other gyms in the past and I feel like the staff here really tries to connect with the members and their wants and needs. They also encourage you to to focus on nutrition and getting the right amount of sleep and just your wellness in general. You can schedule a focus meeting with the trainers so it’s just the two of you and they will encourage and help you to achieve your personal goals. They also provide the live workouts on zoom and have a recorded workout every day. This has helped so much to be able to get my workouts in any time of the day or if I’m on vacation. The owner also has a podcast Be A Beast that I love to listen to. Burn has been great for me and I’m so happy to be a member.

Quit Burn to try something different and it just wasn't the same so I came back. The trainers are great! I started at the end of April of 2019 and I am already down 20 lbs.!!! I love the trainers at Burn and all of the people I have met while joining. I enjoy coming everyday I can and if I miss a day, I get bummed that I wasn't able to enjoy a great workout. Sweating next to many "lady beasts" has been an honor. I've been a member for 2 years now and it has been a life changer for me and I'd say I'm addicted. They have 8 - 45 minute camps between mornings and afternoons Monday through Saturday to work for many schedules and you can go as often as you wish. I love they give me modifications for my Arthritis so I can do what works for me and I come out feeling refreshed and energized after most camps and it's a stress reliever. The camps are never the same so I never get bored either! There are many different ages and people with restrictions that the great trainers work with. Along with nutritional advice, spiritual, physical and I can't put a price on all that for my health. Oh and child care included in most the camps along with a great Burn community of very supportive members.

I’ve spent the past eight years strictly as a cardio queen – – running distance races, cycling, etc. It was getting stale, and I needed a change. Since a friend of mine suggested that I try out BBC, I have discovered a renewed love for working out. If feels so awesome to start off the day with a great combination of HIIT training and strength, And I going to the rest of my day feeling strong. After having two kids and a stalled workout plan, I joined Burn after many recommendations from other moms. I needed a place I could bring my kids when I didn't have help at home. Burn solves all the problems. I can drop off my children, get a wonderful workout in and pick them back up in less than an hour. All the trainers are wonderful, kind and caring. Burn Bootcamp has totally transformed my life! After a year of membership, I am stronger, healthier, more confident in every aspect of life, and I have lost around 20 lbs and 20 inches. I am addicted to the workouts, which are never the same and never boring, but always doable. I have never liked exercise of any kind until I tried Burn. I have also found an awesome community of trainers and my fellow burn sisters that are always ready to help, encourage, and challenge me. I highly recommend this place!!

I signed up for Burn Bootcamp thinking it would help jumpstart me back into exercising, and then after the promotional (Groupon) month I would quit and go back to working out at the other popular Rochester gym I’m a member of (I never seem to make it there to actually workout!). After a couple of weeks at Burn, I was completely hooked! The whole atmosphere is so supportive and fun, it’s easy to go and do the challenging workouts. It’s never the same, the focus and particular exercises change every day which I love. The only thing that does not change is that every single workout is a great one! Now after two months of regularly going, I am so much stronger and more energetic, not just during workouts but in life in general. The results really are incredible, and I am finally going to the gym and finding myself making a way to fit it in basically every single day! The trainer Abe is awesome at modifying exercises to make them easier or harder for you based on your level and providing alternate exercises if you have any jnjuries. Can’t say enough about this gym!

BEWARE! After their contract time frame is up reoccurring payments will continue!!! I have attempted to cancel twice and they have still charged my credit card! They even reimbursed one month’s charge and assured me it would not happen again, then later in the same month recharged my card for $145.00! It is absolutely NOT worth the workout experience to deal with 4 MONTHS of unauthorized recurring charges. This is exactly why these types of places lack longevity- their horrible business practices!

Burn Boot Camp is changing my life and is insanely addictive. I have never looked forward to or been enthusiastic about working out. The camps are intense, but give me a sense of accomplishment after I finish. Head trainer Abe is amazing! Being part of BBC makes me believe that my goals are attainable. My only regret is not joining Burn sooner!

Burn Boot Camp is like no other workout I have done!!! Abe, Jack, and Justin are amazing trainers and put together workouts that are amazing and really push me to my fullest fitness level! The atmosphere is so empowering and working out along side all my burn sisters makes the workouts even better! It is so uplifting and encouraging and everyone supports everyone! I have never known fitness to be as fun as it is at Burn and I LOVE that you never quite know what workout you will get. Its like a fun surprise every time you show up :) SO MUCH VARIETY!!
They also modify EVERY MOVE if you need it! I was injured this past fall and showed up to camp in my walking boot and Abe and Jack didn't miss a beat modifying the workout for me so that I could still get a quality workout even with my restrictions. They have helped me to slowly move back into regular workouts while continuing to modify anything that may cause me pain. They are so knowledge and really know where all of their clients are at both physically and fitness wise. I can not say enough good things about this place! I love the atmosphere from the moment I walk in the door until the moment I leave. They're very inviting. The workouts are based for all genders, ages, and skill levels. The trainers help push you to be better as do the other members. I truly love this gym and look forward to my workout every single day!
