About the Club

A full service boutique Pilates Equipment studio located in the heart of St. Paul on Grand Avenue. We run daily group Pilates Reformer and Tower classes and also provide Private and Semi Private Pilates sessions by appointment.

We help our clients strengthen, mobilize and align their bodies with anatomically based movement science so they can find an exercise practice that supports them through their daily activities with joy and ease.

Our instructors are highly skilled, compassionate, and welcoming.

I have been going to CORE since 2010 and will continue to go for many, many years to come. In my fifties, I love Heather’s foam roller zoom classes and Vicky’s active aging in person reformer classes. If I had the time, would take a class everyday if the week! Heather is a strong and kind small business owner and her team is marvelous and top notch. If you are wanting to feel, sleep and move better, this wonderful studio is all you need!

I started at Core Pilates upon the recommendation of a good friend. I signed up for an onboarding class since I had experienced reformer Pilates in the past. My session with Becca was impressive as she evaluated my abilities and strength and made recommendations about classes. A year later and I’m taking at least 2 classes a week and have noticed great improvement in my balance, posture and strength…just what I needed from these classes. Each class instructor has been exceptional, correcting form, adjusting tension accordingly and getting to personally know their students. I’m 68 years old and healthier than I’ve been in decades. ❤️

I started at Core Pilates because my joints were bothering me after long walks and bike rides and, after celebrating my 75th birthday, I was having trouble walking up and down stairs. I was a bit nervous at first since I was the only male in my classes, but everyone has been extremely welcoming, and the teachers have all been very supportive and attentive. The classes are always small, which means more individual attention. For example, when I injured my wrist, the teacher repeated asked about how it was healing and suggested alternatives, such as using my elbows instead of hands when we did plank poses. I have now taken a total of 73 classes and all of them have been excellent. My only regret is that I can’t find time to do more than one class per week. Thanks to Pilates, I no longer feel pain in my joints after long walks and bike rides and it’s much easier navigating staircases. I still haven’t found the Fountain of Youth, but Pilates has made aging easier.

This studio is amazing! I have attended for 14 years, taking both mat and reformer classes. I am now in my 70's and proudly acknowledge that my flexibility, strength, agility and balance are due to Core Pilates.
The instructors are universally excellent. They are well trained and certified and are able to easily adapt all exercises for one's
abilities.
The studio itself is privately owned by Heather and her attention to cleanliness, updated machines and equipment and welcoming atmosphere is impressive.

I love Core Pilates and Yoga on Grand Avenue! Heather -- the owner -- has assembled a really talented and friendly team of instructors who go through a pretty rigorous internship period before becoming "official". The new studio is gorgeous, well lit and has underground parking! At 64 years of age I am super grateful to have discovered reformer Pilates for both building strength and improving balance. I recently moved back to St Paul after living in MPLS for over 30 years. I needed a new Pilates studio. And I lucked out finding Core Pilates & Yoga! An intimate space with instructors that specialize in “seeing” ALL of their students. No matter what levels class you take the teachers will help you personally fit the exercises to your needs and challenges. They are ALL inclusive welcoming every shape and size, and all ages. I sincerely cannot recommend this studio HIGHLY ENOUGH. It’s the best. Go Check it out!

I wanted to try reformer pilates for a while but was a little intimidated. When I finally committed, I had planned to go to a few different studios to see which I preferred. However, after a few classes at Core, I was hooked and knew I’d stay with them. All of the instructors are so nice, knowledgeable, and encouraging. Everyone that attends the classes are equally as nice and accepting. I’ve been going for 8 months now and don't plan to stop.

Growing up in Saint Paul I was always curious about Core Pilates and Yoga. I finally checked out this business in January of 2024. I have truly enjoyed the dynamic flexibility and strength Pilates provides. Classes are never more than eight people which I find super important. Instructors are kind and caring as they check in with you over time. The sense of community I have found here while also maintaining privacy is nice. There is a bathroom and underground parking for your convenience. When I got Covid19 in July the owner was very understanding of my need to pause membership. As a neuro divergent person I do feel like classes provide a good amount of stimulation and variety so I don't get bored.

I did an onboarding session with Becca. It went beyond just using the pilates machine. She was so knowledgeable about the body and was able to point out some minor alignment issues I was having, that was causing pain. I was super impressed. She even followed up with an email with helpful insight. The space is lovely and calm, accepting of all ability levels/ages. A great addition to Grand Ave.

You'll LOVE going to Core Pilates & Yoga Studio-I do!!!
The studio is bright with natural light & wood floors. (onsite parking is a plus too)
Class sizes are small enough to offer individual attention yet big enough to invite group comradery.
Thanks to Vickie's friendly, skilled & playful teaching style, I feel muscularly stronger, more fluid in my joints plus a more positive outlook towards aging!!

Best Pilates studio in the Twin Cities, including both 'in-person' and 'virtual classes'. All instructors have a deep knowledge of the human body and pay great attention to individual student' needs and experience level. Because classes consistently introduce new movements and challenges, I am reminded in each class of which areas of my body need work and which ones have gained strength and balance through the years........I have come a long way since 1999 when I attended my first group Pilates class in Atlanta, GA in terms of body awareness and strength building, all thanks to the passion and supportive attitude of Heather, Julie, Kristine, Laura, Vicky, Becca, Sophie, Adam, Jessie. This St Paul studio is very welcoming, well lit, clean and equipment pieces are well spaced. The 'in-person' classes schedule is rich and the 'virtual' program provides great attendance flexibility and variety of exercises.

Heather and her team have done a FANTASTIC job of offering a wide and diverse spectrum of classes.

The teachers are truly talented at explaining and demonstrating the pose, in addition to clearly talking through the modifications that can be made.

I used to have to get a massage every two weeks and Chiropractic every 3 in addition to Pilates 2 times a week but with the virtual classes I have been able to go to more classes and not do massages and chiropractor every 2 weeks. It's been a game-changer for me.

These classes have allowed me to continue to work on my core, burn off stress, and maintain a balanced lifestyle.

I’ve belonged to Core for nearly a year and a half. I had never taken pilates previously and immediately fell in love. My practice has created a better mind-to-body connection. I’m stronger and more aware of my body in space. Exercises are challenging with stretches built in. All the teachers are great, but I often find myself in classes taught by Heather, Sophie, and Samantha. I’d suggest Core to anyone wanting to try something new or deepen their relationship to their body.

So glad I finally joined! I've been dealing with chronic back pain for years and most exercise causes it to feel worse. Now I'm finally getting the exercise I crave AND reducing my back pain at the same time. I only started taking classes a month ago and the improvement I've had in these few short weeks is phenomenal. I have a sit-in-a-chair-all-day job and I'm no longer popping tylenol all day to get through it. All the instructors are skilled at what they do! I keep gravitating to Heather's barre classes - she is an amazing instructor - keeps things fresh each class so it feels like you're working a new variety of muscles each time. I also love that they have online recordings of classes so I can try out other classes and fit them perfectly into my schedule.

Core Studio St Paul, thank you! I started Pilates in January 2017 and have found the sessions to be the highlight of my week! I love everything that happens to me at Core; learning Pilates and that it is not "work" it is power, the relationships with the wonderful instructors Heather and Dani, the fact that I can see my body changing, and the confidence I have gained.
