Today I was struggling with 95# on the Hang Clean of the Clean+Jerk+Hang clean complex. I went down to 90#, no problem. Coach came over and said “let’s try this”. He loaded the bar a little differently and said “you got this”. I tried, failed, then was able to get the complex at 95#😁
Coach Thad encourages all his athletes to do the best they can on any given day. Thanks Coach!!!

Honestly after that first day I am hooked. Lots of support from peers and the drive to keep going. When I had questions, I received nice detailed answers that helped elavate my performance. An example was on my jerk. I was not getting the bar anywhere close but after some thoughtful coaching I was able to hit a new pr. I will definitely be coming back and use this as a building block to help both in fitness and sports.

Thad is amazing
I missed about a month for a lot of reason and I am 60 years young
Coach Thad was supportive and worked with me on modified exercises to help me be at class
The people are so awesome they help no one judges or cares except your trying or giving your best effort
Cross fit is on tv is hard
In person it’s hard but with this group and coaching it is so much fun and I am so happy I went back after all of the missed days

Coach Thad! Today was a day Id would have probably skipped. I had to attend 5AM insread of 330 PM due to commitments in the afternoon and Ive been dealing with Gout in my ankle. But coach really pushes to just get into gym even on the tough days as hell work with u to scale the workout so u do something positive for both your physical and mental well being.. That really stuck in my head so I made it in, got sweaty with my peers and had a great work out that was scaled to what my dody would allow today.. Thank you for always reinforcing that Coach Thad, that was the main driver for getting up and makeing it in today!

Traveled from California for a family reunion. Dropped by CrossFit Calypso and were welcomed with open arms across the owner, coaches, and members. The programming was perfect for people across all skills. I’ve been doing CrossFit for over 6years now and today was my girlfriends first day. We both had a blast and finished equally exhausted. I think calypso has single handed added another member to the CrossFit community once we return home.
10/10 recommend for travelers and locals!

Four years ago I belonged to another fitness center. I liked it when I was there, but I really wasn't there that often. I did group fitness classes and had to get there early to secure a spot which made it at least a two hour ordeal. Eventually, I just quit going. I decided to try Crossfit Calypso and I was hooked. While it costs a little more, I actually GO because there are people (like awesome members and coaches) that are looking for you! Now I'm not throwing my money away with a membership I don't use. I am making an investment in my health!

I'm in my mid-forties and feel like I'm in as good of shape as I was in my mid-twenties! I started working with Thad in September 2014. I continue to be amazed at his passion, commitment, diverse programming, and understanding of client needs. He knows when to push me; early on, I wasn't able to complete all of the workouts. Now, I may not be the fastest, but I can keep grinding. Thad and Max give you the confidence and skills needed to push yourself beyond what you thought was possible. My 14 year old is actually impressed with his dad...for that, I am eternally grateful fellas. Thank you.

CrossFit Calypso has been a blessing to our family! My husband has been going for about 2 years, our 8 year started this past summer, and I have recently jumped onbaord. We are all stronger and healthier, and I love that this is a family activity for us. Our little ones get to hang out in the kid room while the rest of us get our box jumps, push ups, ring rows, burpees, biking, rowing, lifting and more done. They are consistently treated with incredible respect by coaches and are quickly welcomed into the Calypso family. I Love Calypso Crossfit!!! I’m in the military, so top physical fitness is a condition of my continued service and employment. As I have aged and as my body has changed over the years, staying fit has become increasingly harder. My interest in spending hours in the gym just to “maintain” was gone. I tried all different types of gyms, blew a lot of money on 1 on 1 training and diet fads.... nothing was working and nothing motivated me to “commit” or truly “prioritize” my overall fitness!
The day I walked into Calypso I was immediately greeted by Coach Thad. I had never been in a place like this before, so I was a bit nervous; he made me feel welcome and really didn’t care about my current fitness level, he knew their approach to fitness would make me better. Nearly a year ago, I signed up for a beginners class with Coach Max. I have never regretted it for a second. I’m stronger and more fit than I have been in years! I no longer just “maintain”; I’m making progress, every single day!! I can’t wait to get out of bed each day and challenge myself. We are always doing something different and the Coaches ALWAYS place safety first! They modify workouts for all skill levels and they really pay attention to members; they know me and my abilities better than I know myself!! Worth every penny!!!

I met Max and his wife Denise, owners of Crossfit Calypso, at the open house of the Dr. Eric Rice's chiropractic clinic where I work as a CMT. The fitness program excited me. After taking with both friendly honest owners, I am even more thrilled to join their gym. I have not had the good experience with some other "average" fitness gyms where I spent time and money for a very minimal result in years. I can't wait to visit Crossfit Calypso soon for my "new me".

CrossFit Calypso is great. Thad and Max are both great coaches. The programming is top notch and the coaches' attention to detail will get you in great shape while minimizing injury. I've worked out at several CrossFit gyms while traveling and I can honestly say Calypso is the best.
