I recently joined SISU and it has already been such a positive experience. The coaches are truly amazing—supportive, knowledgeable, and great at helping you push yourself safely. The community here is equally wonderful; everyone is welcoming, encouraging, and genuinely invested in each other’s progress.

I also love the flexibility of the class schedule. Whether you prefer mornings or evenings, there are plenty of options to fit any routine.

I've been training at SISU for over 10 years, and it's been one of the most consistent and rewarding parts of my life. The community is incredible; the facility is top-notch and having a running/biking trail right next to it is a huge bonus.

I’ve been doing Crossfit on and off since 2014, and have been to a lot of different boxes. I joined Crossfit SISU about a year ago and it is hands down one of the best. Their coaching staff really cares about their members and are passionate about Crossfit. There is a wonderful community inside and outside the gym. Whether you want to do organized outings on the weekends with members or a local partner throwdown. The workouts are always fun, varied and challenging. You can scale to all sorts of different levels depending on where you are at in your fitness journey. Unlike many Crossfit boxes I’ve been to, SISU has a sauna, cold plunge pool, HYROX classes, Sweat classes, Strength, and Crossfit classes. You’ll be able to find a class that suits your interests. The last thing worth mentioning is they have all the equipment you could ever need - including climbing ropes, sleds, and even an AssaultRunner treadmill if you’re trying to spice it up. Give this place a shot and you’ll be happy you did so!

I’m going on year 3 with Sisu. I’ll admit it - I didn’t want to try it but I did and I’m so glad. I was intimidated by the heavy weights. But, all types of shapes, sizes and ages take classes. My favorite is the 8:30 am. We stretch, do cardio and I use the size weights that works for me, just dumbbells. For every excercise the coaches can show you an alternative. No one is judging you. There are college kids to young 80 year olds in the class. I feel stronger physically and mentally. I have made some nice connections. There’s a fun and open vibe and someone is always there to help you. And how can you pass up enjoying the sauna afterwards. I’ll be 49 in August and I know that these classes are helping me stay healthier into my next chapters. Pat, the owner is very community focused and truly cares about your successes and the city of excelsior. It feels good to be apart of such a positive environment and business.

I started going to Sisu in February of 2023 at the age of 57 at first because I wanted to make sure I'd be able to take care of myself as I get older, but then after doing it for a few months I really began to feel better and stronger and, yes, even look better!

I can't say enough about the coaches, I need a little extra attention due to an accident I was in several years ago and they all take the time to make sure each exercise is adapted properly to my needs.

They are very supportive of people at every stage of their growth in fitness, especially those just starting out, making sure they are introduced to everyone, gently teaching technique, and making it fun for everyone!

I'm hooked, and will be a member of Sisu for many years to come!

I joined Sisu after moving to the area from out of state, and it’s been a great way to get connected and meet people. I was looking for a great workout when I joined, but was surprised to find a really supportive and friendly community of all ages. I genuinely look forward to seeing the friends I’ve made each time I come to workout. The coaches are super helpful and great at scaling workouts to all fitness levels, which made starting out a lot less intimidating.

My daughter and I joined SISU over a year ago and we have loved it! We were nervous to go to a “CrossFit” gym, but the coaches and community were so welcoming. There are always ways to scale each workout to where our bodies are at. Making us feel successful. My daughter was feeling stronger, but wanted help with losing weight. This is one of the best decisions you’ll ever make! I’ve been coming to Sisu for 1.5 years and LOVE it. Don’t let the CrossFit name intimidate you- they are welcoming to everyone and help you progress at a rate you’re comfortable with. Each class has people of all ages and skillsets. Some very competitive, others just trying to move their body each day. The community is unmatched and truly what keeps me coming back. The sauna is a perk that is hard to match anywhere else, and it enhances the health and community benefits x1000. On days when I’m low on motivation, knowing I’ll get to have a great workout then spend time with friends in the sauna is enough to get me up and out the door. CrossFit has always been something I was curious about but too nervous to try. I always thought it would be too intense and too difficult. This past summer, my cousin came to town for a visit and convinced me to give it a try. We signed up at SISU Excelsior, and I haven’t looked back! Compared to traditional gyms, CrossFit is a completely different experience. It’s not just about lifting weights or running on a treadmill; it’s a community-driven, high-intensity workout that keeps me on my toes.

The most noticeable difference for me has been the motivation. At a traditional gym, I often found myself going through the motions and eventually dropped out after a while. But with CrossFit SISU, every workout is a challenge, and the support from both the coaches and fellow members has kept me consistently motivated. Updating my review after 2 years with the gym.
My wife and I love the programs that span from your traditional Crossfit to a blended less-impact version. The coaches are great and pay close attention to your form so you don't get injured. Prior to joining, we both thought we were in shape. Ha!! This place has turned us from mush to... something much better.

Four years ago I was recovering from a medical condition via Mayo Clinic and my doctor said I needed to get a workout routine started again if I wanted to get healthy. I walked through the doors of SISU and haven’t looked back. Regular “classmates” have become friends and those friendships have felt like family. As a Crossfit Newbie I have found this gym fantastic-- from the athletes to the coaching to the grueling but rewarding workouts, Crossfit Sisu Excelsior has made an intimidating experience accessible. I cannot say enough about the community and the coaches and THE RESULTS!! Two months into Crossfit and I am seeing muscles and definition and progress that I have not seen in 20 years. I have tried it all-- big box gym memberships, solo running, personal training-- but this gym is the first to give me the strong and healthy body that has escaped me since my 20s. I have gone from a lapsed athlete to a soft body to someone who looks forward to going to the gym. SISU coaches will tailor the workouts for your abilities. So you will be challenged AND safe.
I am consistently one of the oldest athletes but no one blinks when I get out the pull up bands. I'm usually the last one done but that simply means I have the biggest audience when I complete my work out.

The coaches are excellent at running classes and taking the time to individualize the WODs for each member. It’s a professionally run gym and yet feels like family at the same time. Everyone from the coaches to the members are extremely welcoming and friendly. I went from HS and College athletics to couch potatoe. In the past year I’ve lost 50 lbs and gained more muscle at 43 than I have had at any time in my life (and I played high school and college sports) I’m doing things I never dreamed possible, and with a smile on my face! The programming is top notch. The workouts are varied so you are continuing to challenge your body and mind to accomplish things you never dreamed possible. SISU is the best gym there is. The community is awesome, the coaches are the best, and the workouts are always a great challenge. Would absolutely recommend to anybody looking for a fun and challenging workout.

I had never set foot in a Crossfit Gym and was a bit intimidated by all the young, super-fit members. But the coaching staff is very helpful in explaining the workouts (and modifying those I'm not quite ready for!), and the community is super supportive. Six months in and I am very pleased with my results. Highly recommend Pat and Thomas and all the coaches!

Best all around CrossFit gym there is, don’t need to squat 500, doesn’t matter if you can only do the bar itself, just be the best you, that you can and keep grinding. The coaches are varied and all bring a different approach to encouraging and training you. I’ve been coming here for nearly 7 years, I’m not about competitions just occupational health and real world fitness.

CrossFit SISU is everything you could ask for in a gym. The workouts are consistently challenging and varied so you never hit a plateau or get bored with the programming. The facilities are beautiful, clean, have more than enough equipment, and extra goodies for before and after workouts. Best of all is the community aspect of SISU. From open workout Friday Night Lights to nutrition seminars to Fletchers sand volleyball leagues, this gym excels at making its members feel like a part of a community and not just another paying member. The coaches are qualified, extremely knowledgeable, and always push you to be better. Sometimes I think they believe in us more than we believe in ourselves. I cannot say enough good things about SISU. This is a gym for all people or all ages and makes fitness an interwoven part of life because of the community they have created. Highly recommend giving SISU a try!

My husband and I have always worked out, but never enjoyed it as much as we do at SISU, not to mention the crazy amazing results we have both seen in a short time. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and attentive to each individual. The people we have met have become true friends. I was on the fence about trying CrossFit for years, it always looked like a good challenge but seemed too intense and intimidating. I AM SO GLAD I TRIED SISU!!! The variety of workouts and programming is amazing, they are not a one stop shop! Nothing has ever worked for me like CrossFit and I’ve never felt more at home than at CrossFit SISU Excelsior. The coaches are highly knowledgeable and the facility is well organized with plenty of open space. The atmosphere at this gym is supportive and inclusive which makes it more fun to workout...even when the workout is a tough one.

I've been a member of this gym for about 5 months now and I will say that it's the only gym I've ever actually gone to, regularly! I'm pretty overweight and sedentary, but the people in this gym, the workouts we do, the physical changes I'm seeing, keep me coming back. I have also been doing their nutrition program since the beginning and it's REALLY helped! So far, I'm down about 20 pounds, but more importantly, this is the best I've felt about myself in decades!

I am not an athlete nor have I ever been an athlete. I do not have a background in fitness, I have a background in sitting on my butt in front of a computer all day and a TV all night. Before I started, I was VERY apprehensive about the intensity I'd heard about, comparing myself to what others were doing, etc... But from day 1, every one of the coaches has helped me scale each of the workouts to my ability. Not scale them down so much that I'm not actually working hard, but scale them down so that I can actually complete them. I'm sure it will take me a long time until I can actually complete a single, unassisted pull-up or actually climb a rope, but the encouragement I get from all of the coaches and all of the other members drives me. I'm often one of the last to complete a workout at the end of class, but it's not uncommon for everyone else to gather around me, cheering me on to completion.

That's the CrossFit community you hear about. That's what keeps me coming back.

In deciding to jump into CrossFit, I tried several of the gyms in this area and believe me, none of them came close to SISU when it comes to the knowledge and quality of the coaching and just the friendliness and overall family type feel of the community.

I joined SISU about 2 years ago and it has honestly been one of the best decisions of my life! When I started I was well over 300 lbs and basically couldn't do anything that was programmed, but between all of the incredible coaches helping to modify and scale movements and the unbelievable members for encouragement, I'm in the best shape I've ever been!

Going to the gym is now the highlight of my day! The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and always around, whether teaching or even taking class, they are always willing to help you out with something you're struggling with or give you a few pointers....did I mention they're some of the friendliest people out there!? You also end up working out with some amazing people that just become great friends, so I ask you...why go to happy hour when you could come in, get a good sweat on with friends, and finish the day feeling great!?

Crossfit Sisu is the best gym I have ever been to. The owner, Pat Crosby, actually quailed for the Crossfit Games this year. That's in large part thanks to the programing of the GM Thomas.

All the coaches are great and very attentive. They want you to be successful and the best athlete you can be. Doesn't matter if it is your first day or you have been crossfitting for years. They get to know you an really care about you as person and a client. Making sure you check your form and weights during class.

The other athletes are great and very welcoming and always willing to help or partner with anyone. Safety is very important here, and people are always willing to look out for each other. In fact, in less than 2 years some of the people from the gym have become my close friends.

I have never been one to enjoy working out. I hate running, am easily bored by classes of all kinds, and do not see myself as any sort of real athlete. I joined this gym 11 months ago after my husband got hooked on it. I was shocked to find that not only did I enjoy the work outs, but found a great community of people that I genuinely enjoy being around. I have been going 3-4 times a week since I started. I am never going to be a mega-lifter, and will likely always scale my workouts to some degree. But I have so much fun with these daily, varied challenges and have made some wonderful friends along the way. A happy bonus is that I have lost weight and inches and my clothes fit like they did in high school. Laid back atmosphere, kind, down-to-earth people, fantastic work outs that will make you want to come back again and again. Could not be happier with my experience at SISU.
