8 years. Most of that time 2X weekly. 30 minutes per. ~175 lbs then. 153 lbs now. ~ 29% body fat then. 15.0% now. Lifting ~ 30-40% more weight on each of 7 measured lifts. At age 57, when I began, my goal was to slow age-related muscle loss. And to decrease body fat %. Noble, healthy, and health-related goals. Check and then some.

Occasionally I'm asked by someone who hasn't seen me for a few years, what I've done (to look so different). My response: strength training. Often I'm then asked who my trainer is. My response: Discover Strength. I made a fortunate choice to choose DS. They have made informed choices to employ professionals who consistently utilize a research-informed methodology.

I have been working out with Blake for almost 2 months. Although the entire staff is very friendly and personable, I like the consistency of having the same trainer. I have a severe back issue and he is very invested in my recovery. He listens to what I have to say about each exercise so we can fine tune the workout. Friendly and encouraging staff. 1 year after a hip replacement, I never thought I would be able to compete competitively, in some of the recreational sports, I once played. I have been training here for over a year. The trainers are super knowledgeable and spent a lot of time catering a workout plan unique to me that worked extremely well with my schedule. As a researcher, I was looking for a place with educated staff with efficiency and knowledge and up to date with research to increase strength and prevent injuries. All staff are very professional, knowledgeable in working with diverse clients with focus on gaining strength! I did a 1 on 1 with Brad and let me tell you, I thought I knew my stuff. I did not. Not only did Brad walk me through and help me achieve a solid work out that put the soreness in, he allowed me the leniency to put the effort in that I wanted to, not what he thought I should. None of this "drill seargent motivation method" that I was so used to. Beyond that, he talked about every exercise down to the dirty detail - how the range of motion effects your lift, what to focus on in your body as you're doing the lift, breathing techniques, why the counting method is effective etc.. I feel like I did a 3 hr workout in just 30 min. Definitely the best coaching experience I've ever had, and an absolute awesome workout without interferring with my busy day.

I have been to three workouts within the last eight days and I am excited about my potential results. I had a stroke in 2020 that impacted the left side of my body. I don't walk like I did before and my left arm isn't as strong as my right. I believe that I can get back to 100%.

I have never worked long term with a weight trainer before. During my three workouts, DS trainers have impressed me with their knowledge of the body and how each machine targets a particular muscle group. They are great at breaking things down and making it understandable.

I am so excited to have Discover Strength in Maple Grove! I have been using DS trainers for two years (virtual and in-person) and now it is so close and convenient to me! The twice a week 30 minute sessions work your whole body and I am so much stronger now - the softener salt bags don’t terrify me anymore. I've been training virtually with Colton ever since Covid started. Even though I'm not able to go to the studio, Colton does an outstanding job pushing me and making sure that I am achieving my goal. I'm a great advocate for discover strength. All the trainers are amazing, the truly use science and evidence-based data in their training and it does really show up in the results.
