My review of training with Kiersten is “hard hard hard hard hard” - which is what I say when she makes me do something, well, hard!

You should train with Kiersten if you: want to do something nice for your body, be pushed out of your comfort zone without pressure, learn to use the “big” weights in an inclusive and supportive environment & if you don’t mind the occasional Broadway banger on the playlist.

You should NOT train with Kiersten if you: love diet culture talk or hate Jewel (which also makes its way onto the playlist randomly).

Kiersten has always made me feel so welcome and at ease in their space. As someone who was very anxious about being in a gym setting and navigating how exercise and personal training would work for me, I have a deep appreciation for Kiersten's approach. They are incredibly kind, compassionate, and patient.
I can't quite put into words how highly I recommend coming here for personal training!

I found Kiersten during COVID and never looked back. They customize workouts without blinking, make me feel strong and successful, and change up my workouts frequently so I’m never bored (and can keep beating PRs!) When I was ready to move from cardio circuits to heavy lifting, they were so excited and it has been a fun journey! If you want to feel empowered in your body, and supported in however you choose or are able to move, I highly recommend Kiersten. (Bonus - the massage is a great balance now too!!)

Kiersten is fantastic! After a cancer diagnosis and multiple surgeries, they helped me find safety and strength again. I am stronger now than I have ever been. Their approach encourages me to listen to my body and make choices that progress my strength without injury. Thankful for them and highly recommend their services.

I’ve been working with Kiersten of Empowered Training as my personal trainer for over 6 months. When we started, they did a thorough intro call to see if we were a good fit, and from there our first session was a full assessment where I was able to explain my history, concerns and goals for working out.

We’ve been working together weekly and Kiersten provides a safe environment for me to push my limits while allowing room for ease and self care along the way. Sessions are ramped up or down based on how I’m feeling that week— I never feel pressured to do exercises or lift weights that I’m not comfortable with. I had never done weight training before working with Kiersten, and now I love it!

Kiersten also provides massage services like cupping, scraping, and other massage techniques that enhance the training experience. This is great for weeks where I’m too sore, fatigued, or just can’t work out for some reason.

Kiersten is trauma-informed and provides a safe place for people of different identities. Their workout studio (and massage table) are size inclusive without any gross diet culture influences— there’s even snacks! I love that I don’t have to worry about toxic food or body comments from Kiersten. They are truly a blessing in my life and I highly, highly recommend them.

I love training here. After years of not quite getting it right with working out … lots of starts and stops, I’ve been consistently getting in workouts.

And I think the big difference is the trauma-informed style. It’s really about how I’m feeling that day and weight lifting appropriately. No gimmicks. No questionable nutrition powder pushing … all that uuuugh stuff. It’s just really great, grounded - fun! - personal training. So grateful to Kiersten.
